I enter my first season as Pirates GM, I have a tough up-hill battle to face trying to turn around this franchise. While the journey will be tough, I am really looking forward to it, as I consider this a dream job being able to run the team I grew up watching. I hope the fact that I grew up watching the team, i can learn from the mistakes the team had made and turn this team around.
I enter spring training with no real starting jobs on the line other than Andrew McCutchen fighting with Nyjer Morgan and Eric Hinske for the Left Field job. The back end of the Rotation is the other big thing that needs to be settled but no big changes are expect.
My expected Starting Lineup
LF Nyjer Morgan
2B Freddy Sanchez
CF Nate McLouth
C Ryan Doumit
1B Adam LaRoche
SS Jack Wilson
RF Brandon Moss
3B Andy LaRoche
P Paul Maholm
We looking to get better but if anything else, get DEEPER. If there is a move that can solve that, im gonna have to think about it

im gonna try and be patient with McCutchen and Alvarez but its gonna be hard with having to deal with Andy LaRoche at third and Morgan at Left Field

How bout Jose tabata?
i feel he could use a little more time, and with Nate McLouth at center i can afford to be patient with him. i may move Tabata to right if i decide to go with McLouth long term, especially since i have NO other options at Right Field other than Moss or Pearce, which neither are long term solutions.

Not bad. Andy LaRoche will be fine at 3rd he just needs to settle in and learn to hit all over again. Good thing Lloyd isn't around to torch his bat like he did Hermansen's ... I like the idea of being patient with Tabata and Alvarez, no need to rush their development. I'd start them both at AA Altoona personally.

yea, thats what im hoping. i plan on giving him the job and letting him roll with it. no real time line for him to pick things up, but if he is still struggling by mid-season and Neil Walker is tearing it up i may make a switch. Alvarez will def be at AA, im not sure about Tabata, if they have Single-A then i may put him there.
