I just got an Xbox 360 and, as a NFL 2k5 lover, one of the first games I bought was APF 2k8. I like the game, but without Franchise mode, it just won't last for me. I love to watch my players develop and progress over their careers. Here's hoping for APF 2k10 . . . with Franchise mode!

Agreed! With the ability to configure your own teams, and share Rosters.

to be honest with ya i could care less for franchise.
ever since nfl 2k i havent played vs the computer.
i always played against my friends until xbox live, then online only once xbox live came out.
i dont even touch franchise. its boring playing the AI.
a human can adapt on the fly the AI cant
the ai wont bring a defender in the box or hot route for a double team on your dominant receiver.

I gave my friend an extra copy of APF this past weekend after he got a 360 for his b-day and he was very unimpressed with APF due to lack of offline franchise. For some, the jump to Live is too big and something like a Franchise mode would allow a new APF'er to transition into the game. That was the case for me when I first got APF, but I knew the game was a gem, so I invested some time in it then took it online.

Yeah, I understand where you are coming from, but I have to squeeze my gaming in when I can (I hate when life gets in the way of gaming!!). I am fine playing the cpu, but you are right that human ai is a different challenge!

Agreed, I let my cousin borrow a copy of it for a weekend when he got a ps3 and was disappointed there was no franchise mode.

This game was made for me. I hate franchise mode. I love leagues/online play. I love balanced teams for the most part.
It'd be nice to have the OPTION for balanced teams in ranked games, but in leagues edit players.
This game appealed directly to my tastes... gameplay and online. That's all I wanted, but sadly for others that's all it has.

There are just a lot of people out there who just do not enjoy the cheese/unsim factor of online play and the amount of time wasted trying to find a good match.
Honestly I never played 2K on XBL after the terrible cheese filled experiences I has on the Dreamcast , to me it was just too much work so I stuck with franchise mode with adjusted sliders.
I have played a bit with 2K8 online but once again find myself frustrated with cheesers/quitters and the way everyone wants to play Arcade ball with a solid gold silver offense that is basically unstoppable even with 11 defensive legends on the field.
Now I play a match online maybe once a week and play vs, my created teams most of the time.
