When I get home, I am going to practice mode and test every WR on a go pattern. I'm going to time them on normal and fast speed and post how fast each WR in the game.

I remember I timed Barry Sanders on a 40 yard dash in that 1 on 1 scrimage mode on normal speed and everytime I did it I timed him inbetween 4.4 and 4.5.

I declare this game bad example of the NFL. James Lofton ran a 5.00(4.50). John Taylor runs a 5.00(5.50).
But here is the problem about the so called NFL Speed on Fast. You have only 2.23 - 3.38 before getting sack which is unrealistic. When you play it on normal mode you have at least 3.34 - 4.47 before getting sack with a pass blocking generic line.

John Taylor ran a 4.6 in his combine.

I think these are realistic times because the player don't wear pads at the combine

Who knows... We gotta ask the developer but they will never answer us...

That is accurate. All experts say QBs have to get rid of the ball in 3 seconds. And if you consider a generic line to be a terrible one in the NFL, they're not going to give you 3 seconds.

Unless your the 49ers or Lions... 7 seconds for Drew Brees BABY!

No one said you have to play in the tourney minh. You bowed out and that is fine but to say it is unrealistic is hilarious because the D-Line actually gets in quickly like they should LOL. Maybe if you choose a Left Tackle or any other O-Line that wouldn't happen.

Of the course they get in, they game is basically 1.5 X faster. The game speed is faster doesn't mean the D-line get in quicker, the game has basically turned to Madden Speed when played Fast.

That is a good point. I wonder if we will see some OL in the high ladder guys.

I like the fast mode. My blitzes work better :)

Honestly, anything that increases the impact of a strong front 7 vs generic OLs is a positive in my mind.

Also, if Willie Gault does not have the fastest straight line speed of any WR in the game..then something is terribly wrong.

The only guy who should come even close is Bobby Mitchell.

Everyone knows Doug Flutie has the fastest straight line speed.

Ok I just timed a bunch of players in this game in normal game speed for 40 yard dashes on straight go patterns. Seems pretty realistic to me considering they are in pads. I made them do it 3 times and I took the average of the 3 and put that down.

James Lofton 4.35
Bobby Mitchell 4.49
Drew Pearson 4.53
Barry Sanders 4.43
Lem Barney 4.45
Willie Gault 4.47
Rocket Ismai 4.45l

I don't take too much issue with the times, but some players do play slower than they do in the game we've watched. My issue deals with realistic agility, stop and go instant top speeds, etc...

I was in practice last night and tossed one to my receiver downfield.
For whatever reason the game underthrows this one. Not hit or pressured.
My receiver makes the catch after turning around and running backwards to make the catch. No problem.

When the catch is made manually(lol) the receiver immediately stopped his backward run downfield and was now running forward back to me upfield. People want all of this control, but in a situation like that the animation needs to be finished.
- If the logic is going to translate pushing forward on the joystick as forward motion with regard to facing of the receiver at that moment then there needs to be a transition animation that shows him stopping in a realisitic manner and changing direction.

-If the logic is going to translate pushing forward on the joystick as forward motion with regard to the direction of the joystick then there needs to be a transition animation that shows him turning around in a realisitic manner while continuing in the same direction.

Stuff like this goes on throughout our games and is the reason I say it isn't always about stick skills.
The programming in the game can have a lot to do with the outcome of our games.

Test Jerry Rice and John Taylor's Speed for me. I Bet John Taylor is around 4.6- 4-8.
