Anyone else notice how big the strike zones are? I feel like balls at my shins get called for strikes. Also, I wanted to know why some pitchers have pitches they don't throw. For Example, Scott Kazmir does not throw a curveball (especially not a 72 mph one), Hamels does not throw a slider, and Lidge definitely doesn't have 5 pitches, more like two. Lidge throws a fastball and slider, def not a curve.

As an astros fan, the last year he was with houston, he was working on a curve, its not any good though....

yeah a big strike zone is near the top of my complaints. I'm glad you can tell strikes from balls this year.... but of course that doesn't help when they call balls strikes.

i think the game is fine . i really dont have any real complaints yet but i do have a question . why does 2k have to make a whole new version of the game every year? why not just correct all of the things you messed up on last year this year ? last years game was great when i learned how to pitch but the online lagg was terrible i hope you guys corrected that issue this year .

This will probably happen next year now that VC has their base game to work from. Hopefully next year they will add a lot more features and really fine tune everything.

This game is build from the bottom put which yes leaves out features but that's only because Kush messed this game up bad. How do you fix frame rate? you start over because there was probably a lot of unneeded coding in this game which makes buffering long and makes it longer to process. Starting over they make sacrifices but in the end we are going to have a smooth running game with game play we all can enjoy. Remember we didn't hear one excuse like last year about them having to take things out of the game because there wasn't enough space.

thank you!
I still for the life of me cant figure out what the heck happened in 2k8! They had a beautiful looking game with some gameplay and other issues in 2k7 and it seemed like it just needed another year of work. To me, 2k8 SHOULD have been 2k7 with the addition of the new pitching and fielding controls, the addition of the real minor league stadiums and improvement in AI and gameplay. 2k9 SHOULD have been the next step, fixing the meatball, new commentary and continuing to tighten up AI, gameplay, online, etc.
Instead, we lose features the game used to have and get an overly simplified version of game play. (and yes, I know its only the demo)
anyway...in my opinion, to make a realistic baseball game, pitchers NEED to throw balls, including the user.

We got a simplified game this year because you people complained that last years was to hard. What the hell do you expect. 2k8 was about as accurate as baseball can be on a game system, but eveybody had to ruin it. Why because most people couldnt take a couple hours to learn how to pitch.

It would be nice if there were some actual instructions that taught you how to use the pitching system properly in this new game, but there are none that even explain the circles and when to push what.

for a fastball, you fling and hold the stick down, then as the circle gets bigger you flick it as fast as you can up. Thats all you do. The more you can get the ring closer to max the more effective your pitch will be.
Its that easy.

let me ask, how about if im using the classic control? Cause I couldnt figure it out for the life of me. I really wanted to too. honestly i am sure the pitching would have come to me eventually, I myself was more disappointed with the presentation and the tiny outfielders...

I completely agree with the TC. A smaller strike zone would make the hitting perfect minus the L stick. The view and the speed of the ball is perfect, but the ability to take a pitch isn't as good as it could be if the strike zone was smaller.
