View Full Version : I failed the Wonderlick test

The NFL uses Wonderlick as an evaluation for it's NFL rookie class draft. Well I was offered a job at Blue Cross in Rhode Island and part of their test was the Wonderlick. I failed.

B.T.W I have a Masters Degree History.

Majority of the questions where word problems. Example.
3 Boxes (44 per box) of paper clips cost 24 cents. How many does 234 paper clips cost? No calculator.

Jimmy has 64 pens. Tommy has 50% more than Jimmy. How many does Jimmy have?

This test is a joke.

Belichick puts a high premium on the Wonderlick test for drafting his linebackers. I guess I'm a dumb a $ $,

Wonderlick is timed (12 minutes). Get as many right as possible.

Set 1 was a little hard. Set 2 was extremely easy and set 3 was kinda hard for me since english and grammar really isnt my thing.

Whats funny is Jamarcus Russell got like a 10 on it and was still drafted #1 because of his big arm LOL. Goes to show there is something to it because Jamarcus really sucks LOL.

jamarcus russel was nothing on college besides the sugar bowl game vs a horrible notre dame defense that he chewed up

thank god he is on the west coast, i dont have to watch him play

real football resides in the nfc east

GO BIG BLUE!!!

The wonderlic questions should be easy for anyone with a college degree and basic math skills. However, we know athletes don't really study in college and most weren't required to in HS.

As for Wonderlic I would give it the same value as I give 40 times. Not much. In the end game tape is what matters.

A simple IQ test does not = football knowledge. However, it can help indicate those who can pick up a playbook faster as they most likely have better study habits.

As for JaMarcus Russell people are writing him off too quick. He has a horrible O-LINE and please name me the WRs he was throwing too and tell me they are NFL starters.

Matt Ryan has Roddy White.
Joe Flacco has Derrick Mason.
Peyton Manning had Marvin Harrison... etc.

Tough to pass the ball when your WRs get no separation and you don't even get enough time to make your 2nd progression or set your feet.

I'm still not sold on him b/c of his inaccuracy but I think he'll be a solid NFL QB and will be in the league longer than Alex Smith despite the gap in Wonderlic scores.

You know Alex Smith doesn't have Hill's line right now... Alex had BackUP LT because Jonas Jenning goes to the IR after 4 games, Kwame Harris blocking for him, and Larry Allen pass blocking DT. Remember against Seattle in Week 3 when Alex got injured? Yeah Larry forgot to block for him on that play and let Rocky Bernard through.

Marino got a 15
