View Full Version : Player Edit Options Taken Out This Year. Why?

I know that this doesn't mean a lot to a lot of people but for those of us that like to play with the rosters and make the MLB players look like they do in real life it is a big deal, and something that we have enjoyed for the past two games. I figure if people were gonna complain about helmets, which I get, I might as well say something about this.

It seems that 2K has taken out a couple of very big options from the player edit section. It is the jersey and pants adjustment section. In the past two MLB 2K games (2K7 & 2K8) they had the option to change the size of the jersey to Tight, Normal, and Loose. Which is now gone. Also there was an option to change the size of the pants to Tight, Normal, Baggy, and Super Baggy (For those like CC Sabathia and Manny Ramirez). Those options are now gone. And the last option was to change the length of the pants, which was Tucked (as into the shoes ala Vlad Guerrero), Normal (top of the shoe), Long (about half way down the shoe), and Extra Long (over the entire shoe almost to the ground;which a lot of players now where). Now they did put in the bottom of the pant legs as an option this year to High, Low, High Stir Up, Low Stir Up, Baggy. But this is just the bottom of the pant leg, it doesn't reflect the entire pants like the option from the last two years, which I think is a big omission. I thought last years player edit system was just about perfect except for maybe a couple of things that could have been added, but otherwise pretty perfect. The reason why the omitted these options is beyond me and don't understand why. I'll be intersted to see what Manny looks like this year without these options unless 2K made a special exception to make his uniform different than everyone else. Along with a lot of other omissions to this game this year I really hope that these get put back into this game next year. Later

P.S. I almost for got the option for the "cut sleeves." The sleeves that are cut at the elbow are also not in the game this year, which we all know how many players use this look. Another omission that has been there for the past two years. Why it's gone I have no idea.

damn, more stuff they remved eh? wow it seems like they have removed alot of stuff that 2k has finally built up to.... i bet they removed the ability to edit players once franchise has started too, and the ability to adjust , and edit cpu rosters, or adjust them before each game in case of funky ai :( i was really happy the developers listened and got that all into 2k8 , probably gone now . like , take out slides, collision detection. its like were starting back at the VERY VERY beginning.

You got it, it seems like every year 2K is starting over in some way unlike the competitor who just keeps adding to a great product. And I didn't feel that way at all until this year. I always enjoyed 2K over The Show, especially cuz the player edit system was soooo good. But with this drawback it hurts. Later

I cant imagine why they took these options out, or for that matter redesigned the batting gloves to look....like they do, and the fielding gloves even worse. Seemed they had some GREAT stuff going on with 2k7 and 8, awesome accessories and stuff....not sure why they would remove.

I thought it was also strange that they had all these real minor league stadiums built and in last years game, and now they are gone. Its truly like getting a game from scratch each and every year with them.

People complained so much about last years game they got pressured to start the whole thing from scratch.
Which is stupid because last years game was really damn good if you took out the little flaws.
Instead of building on last years game we have freaking start over because people couldnt keep their mouth shut without giving 2k8 a chance.

They took out the options this year so they can put them back in next year as a new feature!
