Why would 2k take the Fun out of the game, I don't play 2k's games because they reset the records and now they took out the lobbies, is this some kind of sick joke ? what's the point of playing a ranked game when at the end of the month it means nothing, why don't you just make it so we can only play player matches because that's what it is, ranked games mean nothing anymore, you just take all the meaning of playing online away from us, thanks 2k

Hey sport...guess what...no matter how long they keep your records for a video game...they mean nothing.

Anyways, the records get reset so that other people have a chance to compete on the leaderboards. There are people who don't/can;t purchase the game on the first day, and because some people seem to have an infinite amount of time to play the game, other folks can't compete.

you can seriously tell me that it's ok with you for 2k to take the lobbies out and erase everyones records every month, I play EA sports NHL 09 because it's fun and I can play my friends in ranked matches, and I also have made alot of good friends in the lobbys, and when I play it makes me feel like I am playing for something when it's ranked because they don't erase my record, me and my friends kind of compete for who has the better record and it makes it fun.

The lobbies were taken out for the Team 2K competition. Some like this move and some don't. You obviously don't. However, the records reset for other folks to have a chance at the leaderboards, and when it comes down to it, except for Team 2K, the records mean nothing.

so of all the people that play the game only one persons record in the whole world matters each month, that's really smart 2k, great idea, and you wonder why EA ownes 2k, all my friend started playing NHL 08 and 09 because 2k8 and 2k9 erased they're records every month and it made them furious, way to lose your customers 2k

way to have a life i guess????
Seriously... you seem like a guy that has NO LIFE.
So whats it matter? Just keep playing the game with every waking moment you have and surely people will see your name at the top every month so no one forgets you.

Yeah? So kindly explain what it is about having your record erased that makes it so horrific then?
It's okay if you dont want to because I know the answer.
It's so when your in a match playing someone you can say, HEY look at the leaderboard. See my name on that? Yeah Im the best!
Or something along those lines.
Thing is by resetting the leaderboard every month, it gives other people that do have lives to show up on their once in a while because otherwise it would be filled with people that have been playing since day 1 24/7.
And by the creation of this topic, Im willing to bet you're one of those people.

I don't play video games very much, I'm 28 years old, it's hard for me to get into video games like I could when I was young but when I do play I would like to have something to play for, If I wanted to play a player match I would choose that option but when I choose ranked match I would like it to mean what it say's ( not ranked match but really it's just a player match because we're just gonna erase your record in a few weeks anyway) I am competitive, I have played sports my whole life and I like to win and I would like it to be on my record when I do win.

Like I said I'm 28 years old, I don't play very often, I will never be on the leaderboard and I could care less about being on the leaderboard, but I am competitive unlike you and I need something to drive me to play other than just fun, I'm sure you are of those people that was never good at sports and you get a big woody from playing video games but I like to have some incentive when playing, I guess it's just my competitve nature.

competitive nature?
Oh okay..
so your one of those people then that screams and yells at the tv playing a video game and starts throwing things around right?
Dont give me that crap about your competitive nature.
Actually no, please continue
its a good laugh.

wow, Pin you might be the biggest loser ever, maybe you should get a life and stop posting on my thread, if you don't understand what I'm saying by now they you don't understand English or you probably ride the short bus to school, either way I am smart enough to realize when talking to a ignorant person like Pin is a waste of time so I will not respond to anymore of his childish posts.

I don't like the records being erased either. I do care about my record too, and no it's not so I can see myself on leaderboards because on NBA I lose more then I win and still hate that the record gets erased.
For the monthly thing thats why they should make a monthly leaderboard like Madden has, you can sort from weekly/monthly/overall.
Not a big deal though, I'll still play the game but I'd much rather have the records stay with you forever.

Think of a month like a "season"...Do you think MLB teams should come back in April with their records pre-set to their all time W/L record? Of course not.
This gives people who get the game in June a way to compare against the people who have had the game for months.
I just don't see the big deal.
I prefer lobbies when I play online, but oh well. I can take a quick match.

I don't post much, but I just had to laugh at the lack of basic grammar inherent in every single post on the 2k forums. Even from 28-year-old's...sigh.

Ok number one, by erasing the leaderboards every month new people do not get a chance. The same people play 20 games a day. I guy who buys the game on the 1st of the month and starts playing a normal pace will not climb the leaderboard, there are still sicko's who play 30 games a day that you can never beat, thats the way video games are.
two, every game has achivments, that is the draw of video games. From the 1st games most of us have played, mario borthers for example. You beat a lvl you play the next lvl. you try to beat the game, that is more or less the point of playing a game. Who would play mario if you beat a few lvls and after a month you have to start a lvl one again? What is the point of that?
Third, of course video games do not matter. But i can assume the people who post play this game, so we all could be doing something more productive than playing video games. If you don't care at all about records in most games there is the option of playing non ranked matches.

What's funny is the guys who play this game all time aren't even that good and usually quit when they are losing.

Its a good thing then that 2k doesnt support the ps3 like the 360 cause the records on the ps3 do not get erased every month
