I saw a thread that was closed talking about a possible freeze issue with franchise here is some info I found. I have never heard of this nutweasel guy so I don't know if he should be considered a credible source or not.

Yeah me too! I am hoping this is false information. I am just trying to get a confirmation that it is wrong from 2k or VC.

Thanks for the correct link. But again, after browsing through that thread there is no mention of this happening on a consistent basis or even any kind of rhyme or reason. No where in that thread did he specifically mention when this happened and what happened. It was a thread about someone's blog and his issue with 2K games freezing on his console.

I have played 4 games with no freezes at all? Do I expect a freeze? At some point..absolutey. Why? It just seems to be my system likes to freeze on games every great once in a while. It has nothing to do with the game itself and this poster's issue is just coincidence that its 2k9 he freezes on and decides to raise the issue to everyone. No one else backed up his statement with facts or events.

Well multiple crash scenarios have been reported and actually recreated for some of them by Todd Brakke over at the "nutweasel" blog.

Not sure why the thread got locked. Wouldn't stating it's a console issue be even more assumption (or at least as much) as someone who's tested the game saying there's a game issue?

EDIT: Here's a link to the actual blog where Todd is breaking the game down. These guys (abner and Brakke) have been doing this for awhile now, so I'm sure they understand the possibility of console error when thy make such statements. Plus, he offers much more specifics than the resulting OS link did.

Just because your system freezes often doesn't mean everyone else's does. My 360 has only frozen twice in the past year. It may have been just a coincidence for this guy's freeze. There's also a chance that it's a bug. We just don't know yet, so it's hard to say it was only a coincidence as a matter fact.

lol...pretty much everything is unconfimed at this point. If I see a bug and you don't...it doesn't necessarily mean there's no bug, it could just mean either it's not frequent or you've not met the requirements to get it;)

No one is saying it's confirmed. I just don't understand locking any thread discussing this. I can pretty much promise, based on history, that if several people report a problem with this any time soon, it will still be considered a "console issue." This happened in 2K7 too. Franchise freeze existed, some never met the conditions to get it and cried foul. Turns out, the issue in fact existed.

Again, to repeat, I'm NOT saying this is 100% certain to be an issue. I think it should be open for discussion though. At least this thread is open for now though...lol

i dont see anything about freezing on that nut weezle crap....honestly it dosent matter to me because even in 2k8 when there was a known problem it never happend to me so yea.....idk....I got my leagues to look foward too and I am going to do my chise and i will see if it happens to me because every save i do i will save it twice so there wont be a problem

I am leaving the thread open, but I am moving it over to the concerns forum as that is where it should be. There is no harm in discussing it as long its objective and productive conversation. When folks start blasting 2k9 thinking this is in fact a known issue is when it will be shut down. Or if another mod decides to close it.

i suppose it COULD be MY system, but I'm not exactly a hardcore gamer, so my Xbox isn't played all that often and I can't really think of a time it's crashed on me before this game. i guess we'll see if others experience this issue. looks like not too many people have the game just yet, and already one blogger is describing my symptoms to a tee.

i finally figured out basestealing. your guy won't take off until you LET GO of the trigger. i had kept getting picked off and couldn't figure out how to avoid it!

Well, we need to know more about your set up. Is the game installed on your harddrive, which model xbox do you have. How did you get the copy of the game.

the first time it happened, i had used the save & quit option mid game... so i thought it might be that.

then when starting the new franchise, i this time also installed the game to my hard-drive (i had experienced one occurance of the game freezing when subbing a pitcher in late innings, so i thought it'd be worth trying). i have not used the save & quit option mid-game since... and it still happened.

i dunno the model of my 360. i picked it up new around the time Halo 3 came out, though.

They were talking about this on operation sports earlier today. I posted a thread about it and the thread was locked.

Where there is smoke theres fire. I'd say this is happening to several of those who own the game, I've heard others then just this guy talking about it.

just so the mods are aware, i'm trying to be respectful and consciously put it in the issues forum instead of the main hype threads as to not bash their product (and who knows, maybe it IS my system). i'm just concerned, because obviously, i'm a franchise guy and need to get this corrected in order to enjoy the game.

if you think it may be related, my franchises have been with detroit and i have occasionally turned hurry up on and off.

Dude this problem is def real. Ive had the game all day today and started two franchises with the yanks and every time i try to load it it crashes. NBA2k9 had a similar problem when it first came out. 2k really needs to fix this, this really sucks. the game is pretty good but it sux i played three games already in both of my franchises and i was kicking *** but now i cant even go back into them. please fix this issue with a patch or something.

Just had my first freeze up in franchise trying to use the Trading Block feature. I added a player to the block and it locked up on me. I was able to load it up again however.

Yeah I was able to load it up after 1 game played but after 3 games played it would not load up for me again. I should also mention that i have the xbox 360 mlb2k9.

This problem is not a myth, I've had the game since Sunday. The game when the franchise loads freezes right on or after the actual saved franchise loads. I tried the clear cache thing then it froze yet again. In these scenarios it shouldn't matter what system you own. It's a bug that needs to be fixed (.)

I had mine freeze on me after a game was done and it was loading to the schedule screen. Funny thing was it happened 4 seperate times but each time I was playing the Yankees against the Indians and CC was the starting pitcher.

Mine freezes when trying to do a fantasy draft in franchise. After I've drafted 99 of the 100 players...ugh...

I've had freezes on pick 99 of 100 when I was autodrafting the AA and A rounds of the fantasy draft. I remedied this by picking stopping the autodraft for rnds 98-100. I have also had it freeze after the game. BTW, love the gameplay and commentary. Also, weirdness being able to pick guys off at will with lefties on the mound.

My game kept freezing after 3 gams as well, it would no load, I skipped ahead and it worked but I also have had fielders freeze, I have had it freeze on other numbers of games though too, it is very frustrating but I hope you can get it worked out!

my game freezes every franchise game I play. It happens when I go to the bullpen. My reliever comes onto the mound, and his pitches are not in the lower right hand side of the screen, then at the end of the inning it freezes at the black screen. It has done this in every game that I have tried to play. It is really becoming annoying, and I hope that they will give a patch out via XBOX live. I have read elsewhere that other people have exact same problem

Mine has frozen 4 times on me in Franchise mode. It always happens when I'm Loading the saved Franchise. The message says "Successfully loaded Franchise "Franchise1" from MU". So I push the A button for OK and it just hangs on the screen that shows my Franchise name that I loaded from memory. The only way to fix it is to start a new franchise and that's just wrong.

I don't buy this machine specific stuff. It has happened to me 4 times now during the same process. This last time I was almost halfway through my season. I've never had one of my other games freeze up. So this machine specific stuff is garbage. I'm done wasting my time and will not purchase another 2K game.
