Alrighty boys! I am curious what things people do online that irritate you (I have just a few ;) ) Also, what things people do that irritate some people but don't bother you at all.
Irritations of mine:
--------------------
1. People who try to communicate with the pause button. What are you trying, morse code?? i.e. Hitting it repeatedly to make the screen flash after they make a good play. I think they are trying to rub it in, when in reality they are just earning themselves neg. feedback for poor sportsmanship. Or even the quick pause/unpause as if they are trying to say "good play". This isn't really annoying but rather stupid.
2. People who run the clock. BORING.
3. People who know the play will be reverse after review so they call hurry up to make it so you can't challenge the play.
4. People who try to block FGs or extra points. It's wayyy too easy in this game even if you don't do the well known FG glitch. I've seen some people block every extra point of mime out of FG block formation. I personally don't take control over anyone on FG block because it's too easy to block one.
5. Cadence users. Only trying to get free yards because they can't move the ball.
6. Randall Cunningham users. I swear 98% of them are cheesers and almost always quit if it looks like they're going to lose, not get a 1st down after going for it on 4th, etc.
7. People who go back and forth when selecting an answer on a pop-up menu. i.e. Accept to kick off or receive? They go back and forth a bunch of times before they select their option. Same with accepting/declining penalties..again back and forth as though they are trying to tease you some how.
8. People who say you're glitching when they can't stop a play and then they threaten to leave neg. feedback if you continue to run the same play that they can't stop. This one irritates me because those plays can be stopped if they knew how to stop them.
9. People who get mad when they can't move the ball on you and then message you saying "oh I see, you're calling the same D all the time. Try calling a different D formation for once!" Why would I when it's stopping you?? lol I've actually had a few people message me for this one.
10. People who hop when about to be tackled from behind.
11. People who pause an online game for minutes at a time. At least highlight the timeout option so I know you're taking a break.
12. People who let celebrations play out. I could see if you just got the game and never seen them before, but I see guys who do this who've been playing this game since day 1.
13. People who run QB sneaks. I see this up there with attempting FG blocks. It's way too easy to get yardage with this play. Yes, it can be stopped but it's way too successful in this game compared to real life.
14. People who call hurry up and don't let your defenders get back to the line of scrimmage before hiking. And if they don't get good yardage, they accept the offsides penalty.
15. People who are afraid to communicate with a mic. Instead, they use the pause button or text constantly. It's so much easier to work out differences via voice chat. I always get the excuse, "sorry no mic." or "it's broken". yeah right!!
16. People who kick to that part of the field which creates a retarded bounce and sometimes makes your kick returner fall down even if you manually catch it.
17. People who run guys in motion on almost every play and hike the ball while they're in motion..taking advantage of the defender moving slowly.
18. D Line stunt abusers who manually get through untouched almost every play.
19. People who accept late hit penalties when it wasn't a late hit or intentional.
20. People who talk trash in the lobbies. What is this kindergarten?? Grow up.
21. People who leave positive feedback when they win and leave neg. when they lose. There are MANY who do this. Extremely sore losers I say.
================================================== ================
Things that don't bother me:
---------------------------------
1. Fade routes. I can stop this route easily. What's the big deal??
2. Hot corner route. Easy to stop with the right D call.
3. Quick snappers. No problem with you guys and girls! I don't need to adjust every defender.
4. Bump coverage. To me this is realistic because it doesn't work all the time and if you have a beat bump receiver like Maynard and H. Moore, it can be countered.
5. People who go for it on 4th. I love shutting them down. I personally punt - even on 4th and inches
unless I'm close to the red zone.
6. People who pass to their HB on a swing out pass or screen. This is extremely easy to stop but many people think it's cheese somehow.

Let me guess your offense consists of- Fades (cheap) Hot Corners (cheese) and screens (cheap when abused) and on defense you play man bump all game (cheap/weak A.I plays D for you, no defensive skills needed to play this D)
The thing that annoys me are people who think there good when they do everything I just wrote all game long.

Morons who have no ideal how to manage their substitiutions offline in roster management and instead spend 3 minutes of my time doing it at the start of the game.
I do not care who you are or what kind of game you have if you pull this crap you are just an outright moron period point blank end of story.

It's in the player matchup screen and it's when the CPU starts re assigning your defensive priorities for you like it or not.
The CPU will take over with a mind of it's own and demand to be the defensive coordinator and will start re assigning the players you had assigned to guard the other teams recievers and starts putting check marks in the defensive focus box that you have not even touched.
I suggest never looking at the player match up screen during a game unless you want to lose your mind.
You will put the players back to being just the way you like it on the matchup screen and come back on the very next play and CPU will have messed up all your matchups all over again.

I really don't have that many problems, but a 3 things that annoys me are as follows:
(1) People who create Super Stars GOLD players with no name -- for they are unstoppable most of the time, especially when they are fast, speed burner, quick feet, etc. (This is just CHEATING.)
(2) People who score first and go for an onside kick -- and continue the same nonsense throughout.
(3) People who waste the time (by hiking the ball at 1 second) in the first quarter (and throughout) to prevent you from getting the ball.

If you see a reciever just all of a sudden bust open for no logical reason, with no one within 5-10 yards of him, especially if it is in the supposed strength of the zone coverage, then that is a sure sign that focus has kicked in.

I don't even use the focus screen. It doesnt work online. I find when I don't mess with it my team plays better.

Agree
2. People who run the clock. BORING.
Part of the game. Otherwise play custom 15 min quarters.
3. People who know the play will be reverse after review so they call hurry up to make it so you can't challenge the play.
Happens in the NFL.
4. People who try to block FGs or extra points. It's wayyy too easy in this game even if you don't do the well known FG glitch. I've seen some people block every extra point of mime out of FG block formation. I personally don't take control over anyone on FG block because it's too easy to block one.
Its happened once, but most don't try to block and neither do I
5. Cadence users. Only trying to get free yards because they can't move the ball.
Agree
6. Randall Cunningham users. I swear 98% of them are cheesers and almost always quit if it looks like they're going to lose, not get a 1st down after going for it on 4th, etc.
Disagree - I've lost with him and never quit. I don't run with him. I'll run to the line and take a sack to keep from losing 5-6 yds.
7. People who go back and forth when selecting an answer on a pop-up menu. i.e. Accept to kick off or receive? They go back and forth a bunch of times before they select their option. Same with accepting/declining penalties..again back and forth as though they are trying to tease you some how.
Agree. It is very childish and again it isn't like everything that happens is a direct result of skill. I'd hope anyone playing this game this long realizes this.
8. People who say you're glitching when they can't stop a play and then they threaten to leave neg. feedback if you continue to run the same play that they can't stop. This one irritates me because those plays can be stopped if they knew how to stop them.
Agree to a point. If it is based on a glitch then it gets annoying. Motion passing, motion running, hot route corners all game and them being their dependency is annoying. Each can be stopped, but all are based on glitches in the game because of their huge jump in success of running a play without them. But if you run screens to Sanders all day then it is up to me to stop it. No glitch involved. Gameplans I don't complain about. If the deep ball is your gameplan then I need to devise something to stop it. The same with everything else.
9. People who get mad when they can't move the ball on you and then message you saying "oh I see, you're calling the same D all the time. Try calling a different D formation for once!" Why would I when it's stopping you?? lol I've actually had a few people message me for this one.
Never has happened, but that would be annoying too. I rarely communicate during the game anyway.
10. People who hop when about to be tackled from behind.
Disagree - It shouldn't happen that often and if it does then it means I'm playing from behind right?
11. People who pause an online game for minutes at a time. At least highlight the timeout option so I know you're taking a break.
Agree - Sounds fair.
12. People who let celebrations play out. I could see if you just got the game and never seen them before, but I see guys who do this who've been playing this game since day 1.
Disagree - players asked for celebrations and now you don't want to see them? Just like presentations. We wanted them and we don't watch them. They should create lobbies with this on or off and see where people play. Oops. There I go again leaking ideas.
13. People who run QB sneaks. I see this up there with attempting FG blocks. It's way too easy to get yardage with this play. Yes, it can be stopped but it's way too successful in this game compared to real life.
Agree only if it is all the time on just about every 4th and 1. The QB should not be allowed to slither through the line... many times upright and running like a track star.
14. People who call hurry up and don't let your defenders get back to the line of scrimmage before hiking. And if they don't get good yardage, they accept the offsides penalty.
Agree only if it is abused, but this is yet another glitch in the game that a patch could have fixed.
15. People who are afraid to communicate with a mic. Instead, they use the pause button or text constantly. It's so much easier to work out differences via voice chat. I always get the excuse, "sorry no mic." or "it's broken". yeah right!!
Disagree - People are very childish and jump into fantasy lane when on the internet. They say stuff they wouldn't dare say in person or the girl down the street. lol I don't have time for it unless I personally know them and I have mics.
16. People who kick to that part of the field which creates a retarded bounce and sometimes makes your kick returner fall down even if you manually catch it.
Disagree - never experienced this and I've seen some wild kicks near the corners.
17. People who run guys in motion on almost every play and hike the ball while they're in motion..taking advantage of the defender moving slowly.
Agree - run or pass.
18. D Line stunt abusers who manually get through untouched almost every play.
Disagree - never experience this as a problem. Maybe I just haven't played them. The coded stunts won't do this. I know this for sure.
19. People who accept late hit penalties when it wasn't a late hit or intentional.
Disagree - not everyone understands this is a glitch. Another simple patch.
20. People who talk trash in the lobbies. What is this kindergarten?? Grow up.
Agree
21. People who leave positive feedback when they win and leave neg. when they lose. There are MANY who do this. Extremely sore losers I say.
Agree - but I can tell when neutral or negative is coming back. Lots of instant replays.
Let me add that to the list.
22. People who instant replay every play. They should have made this.... oh never mind.
================================================== ================
Things that don't bother me:
---------------------------------
1. Fade routes. I can stop this route easily. What's the big deal?? Agree
2. Hot corner route. Easy to stop with the right D call. Agree
3. Quick snappers. No problem with you guys and girls! I don't need to adjust every defender.
Agree minus the "guys and girls' reference. They need to stop calling plays like Jason Garrett and learn to adjust to their opponents style. lol
4. Bump coverage. To me this is realistic because it doesn't work all the time and if you have a beat bump receiver like Maynard and H. Moore, it can be countered. Agree
5. People who go for it on 4th. I love shutting them down. I personally punt - even on 4th and inches
unless I'm close to the red zone. Agree, but I think we agree as long as it is not QB Sneak reading from above.
6. People who pass to their HB on a swing out pass or screen. This is extremely easy to stop but many people think it's cheese somehow. Agree

People who call out audibles EVERY SINGLE PLAY. Its more of a minor irritant then anything else. but when I see someone calling out audibles sometimes as soon as the huddle breaks, I'm like "What the heck could you possibly be calling?"
I've done that when a defender had a "play stealer". lol
Keep in mind some audibles are FAKE, so what you think are audibles are just something to keep you on the ropes.
Also some people like to have a good option in case things are taken care of when they come to the line.
Nothing wrong with it. Most teams audible or fake audible and we watch it for 4 hours. 1 hour shouldn't hurt. lol

^^^ I call audibles on just about every play for precisely that reason. Most of them are fake. Heck, I'll hot route on running plays when someone has the line stacked. You'd be surprised the number of times they have the gap I'm running to covered, and I hot-route a couple of times, suddenly the defense shifts and the flood gates come wide open. :D
My personal favorite is TE and WR lead shifts on runs. Early in a game, I'll show you exactly where I'm going with my lead blockers. Outside the first quarter or so, follow at your own peril, because I'll shift guys away from where I'm going. Players that like to keep only one or two linebackers in get all kinds of screwed up by this, of course. I'll even do it on playaction, so I get you chasing one way, then watch them panic as they chase the other, then find out that it was a pass, and I throw the ball back the direction they were following originally. ;)
