I think 2K and ko55 are both wrong

4) What do Minor League players earn?

Minor League Baseball player contracts are handled by the Major League Baseball office. Here are the salary ranges:

First contract season: $1,100/month maximum. After that, open to negotiation

Alien Salary Rates: Different for aliens on visas--mandated by INS (Immigration).

Meal Money: $20 per day at all levels, while on the road

Also, anybody else notice all the salaries are exactly 20% low (Manny was 1 year 20 million... from 25 without the option year, then 2 year 36 from 45 million with the option)? Ron, is that league mandated or something?

a rods isnt 20% lower neither is beltran or others, and your post is about the way the money is paid out and does not include bonus or the fact that there paid when their not playing-so the fact is the contracts are all WRONG anyway we all put it,just look at all the top paid players,ex......2k versions-Beltran-3 yrs-14.2 mil. not 20% less, look at arod.Johan,etc.alllllllll

This 20% drop was done because of this rule: http://www.mlb.com/news/press_releases/press_release.jsp?ymd=20061024&content_id=1722380&vkey=pr_mlb&fext=.jsp&c_id=mlb

It will be fixed for the most part in the next update.

I think it just explains the minor league salaries of $65,000 and MLB of $400,000 (minus 20% is $52,000 and $320,000). Maybe the 20% discount was part of the deal and not announced (because, seriously, why would you want to point that out in a press release of that nature?).

In my franchise the Angels just signed FA Joe Biemel to a 1 yr deal worth a little over $500K, his last salary according to the game was over 1mil, why did he take such a low offer? They also signed Alou for 1yr $4+mil which seems pretty normal, maybe a bit too much.
