why is the Orioles rookie catcher Mike Wieters name Matt Weathers on MLB2K9?

because Wieters has yet to play a major league game and can not be in the game under his real name...so that's why he has a fake name.
It's a MLB Players Association rule. And until he plays his 1st game with Baltimore...he won't be put in the game (and once he plays his 1st game...he'll become a member of the MLBPA unless he chooses to not be apart of it, but that's unlikely). But you can change his name to Matt Wieters (his last name is in the database)
