Is there any kind of visual feedback that you’d like to see on any aspect of the game through either overlays or on-screen visuals?

The score updates on bottom should be smaller, I feel like it takes up too much room.

An in-game update on teams around the league in franchise mode at the bottom of the screen. I loved that feature in games like ESPN NFL 2K5.

Players talking before the game, and fans and players doing stuff you see in baseball a lot. Also, working in-game and out of town scoreboards would be a nice thing to see.

I would personally like to see more player animations. what I mean is I want to see more emotions of players, coaches. I want to hit a homerun in citizen bank park and fireworks that I can see are goin off and the bell rockin back and forth and the dugout getting excited. Things like that are what gets people excited. There are numerous threads explaining what we want but just add the feeling of a more realistic feel to the game. Make it to where if we see it in a real game we see it in 2k10

I would like to updated stats when the batters come up. I also would like to be able to see it in hurry up baseball.

I would like to see a better dugout experience, like players sitting on the pine interacting, similar bullpen experience as well, players interacting and talking. I agree with someone who said more physical emotion in players faces when certain events happen. Another thing, that we need, is the real way a game ends. If its a walk off homerun, have all the players at home plate waiting to mob the player, now that happens, but its often cut off, or the camera screws up. Another ending, when either team wins, they go in line, and high 5 each other, show that in its entirety. Again, if it happens on the real diamond, we should have it in 2k10. Another issue that was in 2k7, or 8 I think, was the player curtain calls, it was done so-so in the past, lets bring that back but start the camera from the dugout, and bring the guy back up, tip his cap, and back down to the dugout, end of cut sequence.

A HUD which tells me what the speed of the baserunners and the batter are

Pitch count HUD for the opposing pitcher

Stats when batters come up and new pitchers enter in Hurry Up mode

A way to see the IE data for my own players when they are at the plate so I can strategize which zones to look for pitches in

A way to view past pitch sequences for this batter during the game (and easily be able to tell whether I'm swinging at balls or strikes during those at bats)

Stats on the scoreboard updating after each at bat

I'd love the out of town scoreboard being updated with games that were simmed that would be running at the same time (pretty low priority since you often can't see the board, but it would be cool to feel like the whole league was running in real time)

Ability to see opposing pitcher's pitch counts/stamina.
Ability to view both teams' bench/lineup/pitchers like in 2K8.
Ability to view your team's Inside Edge report while in the game.

I would like the 2K sports ticker to show UP-TO-DATE scores. Like how it's 9:00 ET and it still shows that a game is supposed to start at 7:05 ET.

I would also like to see correct animations in the dugout, like if the opposing team gives up 5 runs in an inning, at the end of the inning the other team will start clapping like the pitcher did good...
Also, during mound visits, I would like to see the pitching coach come out to the mound instead of the manager.

-Homerun distances would be nice.
-Be able to bring up the pitch count of the opposing pitcher
-Be able to bring up the pitch history for any given batter for that game. (A pop up the shows colored icons (pitch type) in the location of each pitch) for each at bat. MVP 2005 had this and it was helpful to see where a pitcher was attacking you and with what pitches in certain counts. Sometimes by your 4th at bat, you'd have seen 12-15 pitches, which could tell you a lot.

The running animations and quite frankly most of the animations are very jerky and stiff. You need all new running , jogging, walking & sprinting animations.

May 9th, 2009, 05:32 PM
One quick thing I wanted to mention is that maybe the FPS and the herky jerkyness wouldnt be as bad if yall did the following:

Pan back the camera to a third perosn view when a no doubter HR is hit. I like when I get to see the ball being blasted from the batters point of view. Have it to where it zooms out just enought to where you see the follow through swing, trot to first and of course the ball goin over the wall.
Pan back the camera when the ball is in play so that the camera doesnt really move when fielding the ball.

- Home Run distances would be good
- some players look ugly with sun glasses: A-Roid doesn't look like A-Roid but rather some kind of Tiger Woods --> better sun glasses
- be able to see past pitching sequences
- there's no player looks thread, so: some players need to be worked at again: good examples: Beckett, Pedroia
- moving jersey in wind would be cool again but don't exaggerate it
- moving hair in wind would be even better!
- grass still doesn't really look like good grass (especially in the infield)
- work on the dust effects: when sliding into base there is dust but not because of the wind
- customizable overlays would be good... the present one is alright, but it looks boring
- Homerun messages on scoreboards look extremely awful and childish - I'm usually not a fan of boring edgy fonts but they would be much more appropriate in this place

The "On a _ game hitting streak" gets kind of annoying, especially when it's only 2 or 3 games. Also, i'm pretty sure hitting streaks end when you don't get a hit. The graphics don't seem to realize that. They just keep counting.

Also, It would be cool to see League Leader stats pop up every now and then. For example, if a player comes up that is 3rd in the league in HRs, maybe have a graphic pop up showing the top 5 league leaders in HRs.

The line score coming up between innings instead of just at the end of the game would be a nice touch.

Today I noticed that as baserunners players' bodies all look the same: David Ortiz is as skinny as Hanley Ramirez or Julio Lugo. It looks ugly

I remember a time when the best part of sports games was how violent they were. Baseball's tough to do it in, but there was a game back in the SNES Genisis era called Major Leauge Baseball where if you got hit by a pitch you could charge the mound and the dugouts would clear.

That'd be awesome!

Also we need to be able to break up a play at 2nd by kicking the crap out of the fielder.

Also I want to be able to kick dirt on an umpires shoes, or rub the brim of my hat against his face to so how red his face gets. Heck I want to be able to argue with the umpire at all.

- better dugout celebrations and animations. for example when somethign good happens have them celebrate not give a dismayed reaction.
- make the managers look like themselves, Tony La Russa needs to have his glasses and he never stands at the top step, hes always in the corner. maybe show pitching coaches talking to managers too.
-fix out of town scoreboards or have the announcers do "around the league" reports
-put the 7th inning stretch back in the game.
-FIX WALK OFF AND WORLD TITLE CELEBRATIONS! have them mob the players during walkoffs and put the pile in at the end of the World Series!
- FIX the missed fly ball plays.. routine fly balls should NOT be dropped all the time!

Player portraits: Use a rendered image (already used for the player) so the team hats would reflect the team the player is on. The beauty of this is that all the players created and generated would have player portraits as well and would prevent your franchise from having all silhouettes when you play 10 years down the road.

Several things I would like to see visually.

Literally a thousand new animations need to be done next year to bring this game up to speed in order to compete with rival games. It seems to me that the animations are individually performed thus looking jerky and less fluid. If yall can blend the animations together along with the several new animations that might be the solution. Here is where they need ot be implemented:
1. In Field Fielding (Tags, scoops, flips, turning two, dives, short hops, bobbles, slide stops, jumping snare catches, foul ball in the stand catches, and throwing animations)
2. Out field fielding (catches, dives, paths OF take to the ball, appraoches ot the ball, wall scaling, crashing into walls, and catch and throw aniamtions)
3. Hitting (Early swings, late swings, follow through swings-(http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_sz-0An2PYc) , and homerun swings

Stadium animations and excitement need to be implented as well. Hitting clutch game winning hits or even homeruns feel bring and unrewarding. There should be fireworks, stadium specific sounds and animations, players in the dugout getting excited, crowds getting crazy. I would love to see mascots in the game. There used to be in the old games abck on reg xbox. whatever the case currently the game is not fun because there is absolutley NO EXCITMENT in areas where there should be.
http://texas.rangers.mlb.com/media/video.jsp?content_id=3104033 (broadcast Perspective)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aooOF_lqGiU&feature=related (fan perspective)

The pains and joys are never really felt watching the players. Have them get excited. In know the cutsces of the dugouts looks stale all the time becasue its like there really isnt a feel if watching a real dugout. They are all doing the same thing at the same time whether it be lame clapping or raising there hands for no reason. Have a cutscene or something but man alive dont show the dugout looking lame like that.

I would like to see weather play more of a role in the game. Rain and snow flurries are a realistic part of the game that is missing in last years game.

Presentation should be be more on point as well. I would prefer next year to be more sim baseball based then the arcadey feel. I dont want the on screen informations on swing timing and all that jazz. Stat tracking needs ot eb more in depth. I dont really care so much as to what a players nickname is as much as I care about what aplayer is doing this year versus last year and the game he is currently playing. Tracking players stats is awesome and updating stat leaders is a must.

The franchise screen needs to be easier to navigate and more pleasing to the eye than the cluttered screen of MLB.com that it is now. I really like maddens new franchise screen. Here is a pic of it:
http://insideblog.easports.com/cfs-filesystemfile.ashx/__key/CommunityServer.Blogs.Components.WeblogFiles/inside_5F00_ea._5F00_IanBlog/FranchiseHub.jpg

The fielding cameras are too high for my enjoyment. The camrea needs to be zoomed in a little, and flattened out a little to see more action. I would also love to see fans walking around in the background.

These are some good visual things that this game needs. Most improtantly are the animations of course but imagine a 2k game that implemented all the above.
Two liitle nuances that I want to see is wide forearm wristbands and numbers back on the wristbands and forearms bands.

1)like the idea that during franchise the score board is being updated from other games around the league in real time. this would be very cool when for example, on the last game of the season(being the yankees) i needed to win and needed the red sox to lose in order to make the playoffs and if i was playing and could see the score of their game changing during mine and could hear the fans reactions of say the red sox losing the lead, it would make for some extremly exciting moments(if done right and the same outcome didn't happen everytime)

2)maybe see the fans doing the wave during a boring game?

3)ballboy/ballgirl

4)if it begins to rain(which i haven;t seen once) have the field crew sitting at the tarp.

5)homerun distants

6)at fenway the fans can sit in the black seats during game days

7)show the announers in the both

8)have an interview with the player of the game

9)maybe even team up with mlb network to create some sorta baseball show during the season in franchise mode

10)vendors

11)only adult fans..how about some kids

12)fans eating. maybe some kids eating ice cream or something

13)fans who fight for the balls are obviously blind because they either start once the ball already landed or people are jumping for it when its like on the other side of them

14)a way to see who the other team has in the bullpen or on the bench

15)base coaches interacting with the base runners

16)faster loading times to see which jersey you are going to pick and maybe show the hat too

17)4th of july the teams wear red caps and some catchers are decked out in red white and blue. so maybe incorporate this into the game for franchise

18)at begining of the game maybe not have as many fans and by 2nd or 3rd inning or can see fans filing in
a)same for the end of the game. if its a blow out show fans leaving to beat the traffic

19)show the pitcher shake off the catcher

20)review homeruns

21)argue calls

Better close-ups when you're at bat. Go back to the visuals for 2k7 & 2k8 where you can tighten the screen so that the batter & pitcher fill almost all of the view. It gives you the feel of real-life hitting more so than the distant view in 2k9. In 2k9, it looks like you're seeing things from the catcher's viewpoint.

I'd like to see more attention to detail throughout the game. Like, more options in creating players, and more attention to detail to player equipment/accesories. Bringing back the option of giving a created player pitching windups and batting stances of pro players.

Like getting the 'OK" from equipment companies to use logos to give a more realistic feel.
Nike checks on cleats, Rawlings symbols on back of gloves or on catcher's equipment.

catcher's gear: I like the option of having 2 shoulder pads, cause that's becoming more common in the game. but as far as the one pad, 2K8 and 2K9 have the one pad on the wrong shoulder. most catchers wear it over their throwing arm.

Giving stadiums their realistic atmosphere. Scoreboards, signs, mascot and player interaction with fans.

I also liked the suggestion about more player interation before/during/after the games.

cut-scene examples:
-top hitter on team taking BP before the game
-players stretching, throwing or playing games in the outfield
-pitcher and catcher in dugout discussing pre-game strategies
-manager talking specifically to one player about a certain play or at-bat

like to see more celebrating and high 5 in dugouts when the batter walks back to the dugout after a homer-run is hit, it was nice to see fans grabbing for souvenirs in K9, could also think about putting back player giving out the ball to the fans after the third out.

I was just on youtube and I was curious, being an xbox 360 owner, about mlb 09 the show for ps3. All I can say is wow. It looks so real it is incredible! You almost can't tell it is a video game! It hurts so bad seeing as how I own an xbox 360. 2K, if you guys would put anything out that is even close to the quality of the show I might buy it twice! It seems like you guys are trying to con us. You think because you have the exclusive license you can spit out whatever garbage you want and you think we're still going to buy it. I'm not sure any of the nerds at 2k have ever played organized baseball or know anything about the fundamentals of the sport. Here is the best advice, just try to copy the show!

Instead of using real Portraits for players, Using the gamefaces for portraits and be able to take pictures of players after a trade to your teams uniform. Also be able to take pictures of created players so everyone has a portrait that is current and with the right Team.

Gameface portraits would eliminate having those blank portraits for minor league and created players.

well there was no sound forums, but this goes with visual ummm, so cutseans like when mo comes out of the pen and you have the real stadium sounds like enter sandman for mo at the bronx and dont stop believing in the bottom of the 9th at dodgers stadium
