What do you think about the directional movement on throws based on how precise the user is with the RStick when throwing to a base? For example, if the user is attempting to throw to 1st base and they move the right stick diagonally up, then the ball will be thrown to the RIGHT of the 1st baseman. If they move the RStick diagonally down, the throw will move to the LEFT of the first baseman.

That would be great if its not overly sensitive. I can't imagine the complaints of the first basemen getting pulled off the bag,or wild throws because you were slightly off. Being able to have the throw up the line and having to apply the tag would be really fun imo though.

This was in 2K8 and it was great. Please bring it back in 2K10! I mentioned this as my main gripe with the fielding/throwing, but didn't realize there was a whole thread for it.

Yes, I like directional throwing based on position of right stick, like 2K8. 2K9 seems to have some of this but is tuned differently and you can't tell where you are throwing, unlike 2K8.

I haven't seen any real benefit from it, nor have I tried to master it yet. It seems like it would be more important if there was collision detection and you really needed to avoid the runner with the throw. But I'd prefer it be an option I can turn on or off as it is more detail than I want to think about when fielding.

I think it's all good, anything that adds to realistic game play is a positive in my book.

As Jeffy said, it was in 2K8 and needs to be brought back. Without it, throw direction is completely random and out of the control of the user.
The sensitivity needs to be based on the players distance from the location of the throw and the players accuracy rating. A guy with a accurate arm should have more room for error than a guy who makes a lot of wild throws.
Think about it like a trig problem. If your throw is 5 degrees off of line. It will be further away from the target that is 200 feet away than one that is 40 feet away. It would be 17.5 up the line from 200 feet away, which would definitely cause the fielder to come off the bag, but from 40 feet it would only be 3.5 feet, which isn't even really a stretch.
Add in player ratings and you get realistic throws. Say Player A is considered a guy with a wild (but strong arm) and has the lowest accuracy rating for an OF (50). Say Player B has decent accuracy (75) and player C has great accuacy (95).
Say you miss by 5 degree's from 250 feet. Player A misses by 22 feet. Player B misses by 11 feet and player C misses by 2 feet. The outcome is completely up to the ratings and the user, which IMO is how it should be.
Sliders than could be used to increase or decrease the dependency on ratings and/or user input.
Throw height is then just a function of the cursor and whether you are to early (high throw) or to late ( low throw) or right on (best throw).

Bring it back. It was in 2k8 and offered additional user influence. I suppose the feature could be turned ON/OFF for those that do not like it.

Its annoying. Id rather it be influenced by how long the button is held.

I love this idea. This aspect of the game is the best part going for the game. Its a good idea, especially when trying to throw out base runners who are stealing (throw it right in front of the bag.) But needs to be tuned so thats possible. Maybe in practice mode, have an option to work on those throws instead of having them happen randomly in fielding

It's stupid when you try to be different and facet yourselves as SIM you usually go overboard and alienate a lot of people. MVP 05 is still the best baseball game in history and none of this foolishness was in it.
