When running the bases, do you use the shoulder buttons or the RStick to tell a specific runner to go to a base?

I use the shoulder buttons for leading off but use the right stick when running the bases. I like being able to instruct a runner to go multiple bases ahead instead of just the next base. There are some issues though. I often notice that when a runner is going from second to third, I will instruct him to go home and this will be interpreted incorrectly and he will start going back to second.
The advance all and retreat all runners buttons always cause base running disasters for me with multiple runners heading to the same base and occasional ridiculous/embarrassing triple plays.

I use a combo of both. The R-stick, to me, seems a bit sensitive. A number of times I merely brushed the stick with my finger, and the runner was heading for 3rd or home.

Both.
With runners on say 1st and 2nd, and I hit a ball that I know is to the track, off the wall, or in the gap, I hit the shoulder to get them all going. I use the stick when I want to influence the lead runner only.

I hate the R-stick, there should b an option to turn it off. I got thrown out quite a few times by accidentally hitting the R-stick and my runner starting going all the way home.

I seem to have a problem with the R-stick, whenever im hitting sometimes i push the R-stick to the left a little, hit a single and im not paying attention to my runner who is heading for 3rd and sometimes i get caught in a bind. so i dont use it but i might be the only one with this problem

Too often I'll still have my thumb on the stick after hitting and send a runner somewhere I don't want him. I wish I could disable it.

r stick should be changed back to situational sliding.

I thought the system in 2k8 was a little better. I liked using the face buttons and having the right stick for sliding. The Left stick was used to select the runner. Being able to see the runners running to the base was pretty nice as well (in 2k8 - you could see HR celebrations as well with this feature). The runner icon thing in the bottom right of the screen looks stupid and I get the feel that it's not that accurate. Overall, the only thing I like from 2k9 baserunning is the stealing (However it's too hard to steal even with the fastest players in the game, with the best possible jump you can get.. you literally have to hope for a bad throw). The idea was solid but the execution seemed to be a bit weak. My vote would be for 2k8's baserunning controls, and add the steal system from 2k9. A mix of the 2 would be nice.

I wish stealing bases was a lot easier. It's almost impossible to steal a base even with Ichiro. The only pitcher I can only steal on are Felix hernandez and Tim Wakefield.

Stealing bases needs to be a bit easier because I always get a good lead and pick my slide and i am always out
