Off the top of my head people who need sig style: Carlos Pena, Pat Burrell, Nate McClouth, Ryan Doumit, Xavier Nady, Jay Bruce, Joey Votto, Ryan Ludwick, James Loney, Fred Lewis, Aron Hill, Adam Jones, Adam Lind, Denard Span, Brandon Inge, Nelson Cruz, Mike Jacobs.

Pros: it give a realistic feel to the game.
Cons: some batters missing signature style
animation between signature style and batting stance isn't as fluid as maybe it should be.

Pros: A ton of sig animations and most are dead on.
Cons: Some that where changed looked aweful this year. Manny ramirez, and pujols are the prime examples. they were fine the way they were. Also there needs to be a ton more for sure as far as hitters go. Pitchers you can nail with generics, but hitters you cant. So focus on them a otn next year. Also let us edit the stances next year since this is always a must have in baseball games.
Suggestions for improvement/what top players would we be remiss if we didn't add sig style for them: Recap the stances mentioned above and blow out the hitters sig styles next year. Add the ability to edit the sig stances for the players yall dont do.

Pro's: You can't go wrong by adding more signiture stances, swing, windups, deliveries, follow throughs, catches, etc.
Con's: Some are wrong and can't be manually adjusted.
Suggestion: Allow everything to be adjusted for all players. Sometimes you guys get it wrong so why not let us fix it for ourselves?

Suggestions:
Mike Lowell's signature batting stance is incorrect.
Josh Hamilton has a different batting stance as well.
David Ortiz has a slightly different stance too.
Carl Crawford hold the handle of the bat above his head, sort of like Rocco Baldelli's stance.
Carlos Pena has an open stance, almost like what Rocco Baldelli's stance is, except he has the bat handle at his shoulders.
Chris Davis on the Rangers needs a signature stance.
Elvis Andrus needs a signature stance.
Kelly Shoppach needs a signature stance.
Mark DeRosa needs a signature stance.

Pros:
- Adds realism
Cons:
- Detracts if not done very well or missing.
- Could take up a lot of VC time, that needs placed elsewhere.
Suggestions for improvement/what top players would we be remiss if we didn't add sig style for them:
Ryan Ludwick, StL. I understand that previously he was not well-known and could have a generish stance. The guy is now an All-Star. He deserves to have his sig stance, with the crazy bat waggle and everything.

May 9th, 2009, 04:29 PM
Cons:
-Too few generic stances/pitching motions.
Suggestions/Top Players:
-Mix up and add more generic styles
Players for the Nationals...
-Stephen Strasburg (Should he sign)
-Jordan Zimmermann
Both will be high in the rotation, and studs.

the show has over 267 sig styles, why doesn't 2k9. For 2k10 how about Yunel Escobar, Carlos Pena, Pat Burrell, Nate McClouth, Ryan Doumit, Xavier Nady, Jay Bruce, Joey Votto, Ryan Ludwick, James Loney, Fred Lewis, Aron Hill, Adam Jones, Adam Lind, Denard Span, Brandon Inge, Nelson Cruz, Mike Jacobs, Mark Derosa, Shin-soo-choo, Jeff Baker, Ryan Ludwick, Skip Shumaker, Brad Hawpe, Yadier Molina, Jarrod Saltilamacchia, and add double toe tapps for hitters such as Ivan Rodriguez, and Chipper Jones. It's great when you see 1-9 have sig styles, even the guys off the bench in the show have sig stances. Keep adding sig walk ups too, that was nice this year. need to fix Manny and ***adome they look terrible.

Suggestions:
Dioner Navarro, Nick Green, Jed Lowrie, Jason Bartlett, Jason Bay should have a more open stance. George Kottaras needs a signature stance, Michael Bowden needs his signature windup, so does Daniel Bard. Justin Masterson does not have the right delivery.

For sig. styles you should also add closer sig styles, what I mean is what they do after they get a save. Have certain closers act like they won the world series even though their 20 games out in august when they get a save and have other guys go up and shake hands with the catcher.

Matt Garza needs a sig style. He wiggles his glove before every pitch. He should also be spitting about every 10 seconds as well lol.

You should be able to change the pitching/ batting styles of your own created player...thats a big plus for a lot of players.

I guess this belongs here: bring back the custom stadium sounds. Allow uploading real songs to the game for implementation at assigned times (ie: batter walk-up music, pitching change, between inning warm-up, etc...)
This was an option in one of the previous incarnations of (I believe) a 2k game and, unsurprisingly, they removed it despite it being one of the most popular features.

Pros: Looks realistic
Cons: Can be annoying if they take too long,
Suggestions: You can already skip these when they come to bat, but game won't let you if it's a pinch hitter.

I'm pretty sure Miguel Cabrera already has a signature stance...
Also, Prince Fielder needs his stance redone, he puts the bat flat on his shoulder.

Suggestion:
Im sure this has been said somewhere but how about adding signature styles for stadiums.
For example make the apple go up in Citi Field, 7th inning stretch at Wrigley, God Bless America at Yankee Stadium, Splash Hits at San Fran would be pretty sweet, and the train horn at Houston just to name a few

Cons: A 9 inning game with dice-k as your pitcher is mind numbing. Jason Kendall does not wear batting gloves.

Would be cool too if you made it when you play online people cant bring in a starting pitcher for a releiver that really blows that people do that. How bout we can choose if we want to pitch with the analog stick and hit with classic controls would like that better, and please more detailed stadiums alot of them this year do not even look like the parks.

pros: i like that you had dempsters glove move
cons: need at least 150 more sig styles
suggestions: more stylles like sorianos stupid little hop when he catches it or when the cubs win the outfielders all jump up and touch sides, milton bradley when he walks he flips his bat. just stuff like that and for other teams like signature homerun celebrations or signature strikeout celebrations.

pros: home run animations i guess
cons: not alot to many generic stances or stances that do not look right at
suggestions : I suggest a create a stance feature. Where you have options such as stance height, hand positioning, stride length, leg kick. Body posture such as upright, athletic, low, open, and closed. Swing types such as uppercut, spray, line drive, and push. In this feature you could accurately edit players so they could have correct stances and motions. All you need is maybe 5 different stance heights. 10 different hand positions. 10 different strides. 10 leg kicks. 5 different swings and bat movement such as cocking, rotating, bouncing, or stationary. If you did this each player could have there on unique stances instead of only a select few.

I think for mlb 2k10 they should just bring in teams in there off season you know like each day one team comes in you know in mlb 2k9 it was just tim lincecum and they got his stance and pitching motion they just do that to everyone.

Pros:
+Some players really look accurately recreated. Others look awful, like Theriot and Soto. Please, work on that.
Cons:
-Why can't I change the batting stances like I have been able to do for years before? I hate, with the passion of a thousand red hot fiery suns, that stupid generic stance given to Theriot (and others). It's awful. It's not even close to his real stance. If you're not going to accurately recreate the stances, at least let us change them to something we think is somewhat similar. This is the very essence of the authenticity of the baseball experience. I'll even go in and mocap the stances for you. I'll even watch all the video and do all the studying.

Pros: Not too many that I can think of. Suppose the ballparks look ok.
Cons: Lots of technical bugs, too many hits/homeruns, anyone else able to pick people off really easily?, can't keep track of stats, player models aren't much to look at, lacks signature animations for a lot of players, especially pitchers, lack of editing options for players and not many options in create-a-player mode, minor league teams serve no purpose, and shoddy gameplay.
This game really took a step backwards and really I'm hoping for a total overhaul of the game because I think thats what it needs. I don't care if they copy from MLB The Show or even go back and look at games like EA's MVP series because these games get it right. Even though MVP 2005 was the last in the series, I feel like they really got it right and could have done so much more on next gen systems, but what are you gonna do? Anywho I thought 2k7 was pretty decent so it's disapointing that the series has really taken a few steps back since, imo anyways. One thing I'd like to see in a season or franchise mode, which I don't think I've seen in any other baseball games, is to have it be much more interactive. Specifically I'd like to see options for batting practice or an extra side session for players who maybe struggling and if you do well maybe it it will help the players confidence and get them out of a slump. I'd also like to see minor leagues have a much more prominent role. It would be nice to be able to look at your minor leagues and see this guy or that guy is doing well and based on their stats you can call them up or send them down, which I feel has been lacking. So those would be cool to see, plus fixing all the other problems that were mentioned above.

one thing when is the next update available to where all the rosters are up to date and the second thing is that you guys should really start thinking about bringing something from nhl09 to baseball where u can create a guy and go to the minors and then go to the mlb. i just want the next update to i can get adam laroche and jack wilson off the priates

July 29th, 2009, 10:20 PM
no idea when the update is comming, but you bring up a good point about the nhl thing where you bring a guy up through the minors. MLB The Show has done this basically with their Road to the Show mode where you create a guy, select a posisition for them and bring them up through the minors. In fact they even have an over the shoulder view of your player at their posisition whenever you have to make a play, which is pretty cool. Dunno if 2K is hesitant to add it in because people will think they're copying The Show, but it's a fun mode to play, so hopefully they'll do something similar. Thanks for Adam Laroche btw, he's been tearin it up for my Red Sox.

Pros: They look very realistic and add a great deal of realism to the game
Cons: Not having a camera angle zoom in on the signiture as it happens
Suggestions: Adding a camera view as the player does his signiture so it can zoom in on it, otherwise we never really see it, we only see them in replays or the home plate video boz on the bottom.

you should focus on the minor leagues as well at least the top prospects on each mlbs farms teams like he said ryan doumits isnt even close to his real batting stance

I beg of you...please allow editing of batting stances/pitch windups/pitch attributes (for fastballs, sinkers, curves, etc.) as well as hair styles (five o'clock shadows, goatees, etc.), jersey styles (loose, tight, normal, one button undone, two buttons undone...etc.) like you've done in previous iterations of the game.
I also have an idea for batting stances. I think we should be able to change batting stances for players without signature styles (as well as those that have signature styles). We should be able to choose from other players' signature styles as well as some generic styles.
Here's where the fun comes in...the generic styles should have four different editing sliders (sliders similar to the ones you have this year for chin width, jaw width, etc.). One slider would be for stance height, the second for open stance/closed stance, the third for hand height (how high or low the batter holds his bat in his stance), and the fourth for foot separation (wide stance/narrow stance).
Also, there would be a few different options for bat waggles: calm waggle (like Joe Mauer's), rhythmic waggle (sort of like Aramis Ramirez's or Jake Fox's), etc.
I can't stress how much this legitimizes the authenticity of the game experience. I like so many things about the game: Thorne is a great commentator (though, Steve Phillips is a hack in real life, I think he's actually decent in the game), the presentation is solid (though it needs some help).

First off all.... I think every player in the MLB should have a signature stance and pitchers windups.... For example Alex Gordon, Kelly Johnson, Yunel Escobar, Nate McClouth, Jose Guillen, Joey Votto, Alexie Ramirez, Gordon Beckham, Mark Derosa, Brad Hawpe, Carlos Pena alot more guys you didnt do.. Some were not done right for example Troy Tulowitzki has a close stance, Evan Longoria has an open stance and doesnt move his bat, and few more i cant think of for right now.... This is one of the Best parts about the game is the stances and windups

Pros: most of the major stars have their styles
Cons: There are really rough animation transitions from batting stances and other animations.
