Name the Top 3 New Features and Top 3 Bug fixes you’d like to see in MLB2K10
LtWeight
May 7th, 2009, 07:24 PM
New Features:
1. Edit player's attributes/pitches
2. Spring Training
3. online for PC version
Bug Fixes:
1. 1 day left on DL
2. how fast some infielders respond hits (might not be a bug, sorry)
3. when fielders get inside the gray area next to the yellow circle when a ball in the air is hit, they slow down (again not sure if this is a bug, or meant to be like that)
jeffy777
May 7th, 2009, 07:42 PM
Features:
1. Bring back the manager mode that was in 2K8, 2K7, etc.
2. Allow us to sim to the end of a game like we could in 2K8, 2K7, etc.
3. Full Player editing (batting stances, pitch types, etc.)
Bug Fixes:
1. Stealing needs fixed. It's way to hard, even with the fastest runners. And when you do get lucky and get in safely, you are often called out any way :(
2. Franchise crashes/freezes
3. Outfielder slowdowns (This is a BIGEE that's plagued 2K games forever).

May 7th, 2009, 08:27 PM
Features: A career mode of some sort
Editing players opened back up
A working and much more in depth/working franchise mode
Bug fixes: Franchise (sorry for stating it twice)
Stealing bases
Fielding the ball
This is something I think would be cool but don't know how it would work in a baseball game, but how about a 1st person camera for batters and hitters, maybe even fielders. Obviously the camera would automatically be locked onto the ball while in 1st person mode, but if you could execute that it would be pretty cool.

check swing for Rstick batting
collsion detection breaking up double plays outfielder collisions
No ball cursor
Bug fixes: franchise needs to be more in depth and accuarately track stats.
Injuries are a huge problem to frequent and to many major injuries....The DL glitch
Get rid of all the cartoonish popups. I want a sim not Batman baseball

May 8th, 2009, 06:15 AM
New Features:
1. as real as it gets feature (trademarked lol) lets have this game, have what the real game has, I.E if for instance, the opening week around the league at all ball parks, there is banners, and writting on the field for "opening week 200x", lets see that. Also celebrations in the game lets add curtain calls, expanded camera angle for walk offs, like add a camera angle following the player to home plate, as he is mobbed by his teammates.
2.DL control, allow you to place players on DL (regardless of injury), to move players around or to duplicate real life season if you wanted.
3.Bring back the player stealing perspective from 2k8.... but tweak it so that maybe it works better, maybe assign a dedicated button stroke to run, and or advance, and to run back.
Bugs:
1. Fix fielding, so that fly balls and player movements, don't lag when a ball is in play, also fix the game so that, when a ball is hit, the right character is selected to control. I.E, if a ball is hit to shallow left, don't give me the CF, let me get the SS if necessary, check the proximity and location commands in the code, to get control to the right player at the right time.
2. Fix the glitches in fielding, I have found that the LB cut off doesn't always work for hitting the cutoff man.
3. Add a better way to run on the bases and in the outfield, seems like players are sometimes (even fast ones) hampered from running, regardless of their natural speed abilities.

May 8th, 2009, 12:02 PM
New Features:
1) A mode similar to Road to the Show where you can take a player from a draft through his career with emphasis on that single player
2) Spring Training Mode filled with mini games used to increase your players abilities (think a baseball version of the Madden Challenge games).
Ideas:
-Long toss to improve pitchers velocity and fielders arm strength
-Bullpen sessions to improve accuracy
-Bullpen sessions to add a new pitch or improve a current pitch
-Stealing/Leadoff drills to improve a players reaction time
-Running drills to improve a players speed
-Running drills to improve a players decision making (freezing on line drives, tagging on flies, taking an extra base when possible)
-Fielding drills with different agenda's and goals to improve a players range, catching abiltity, jumps, etc.
-Batting practice with different agenda's and goal's to improve contact, power, situational hitting, bunting, etc.
3) Create a Team/Expansion/Relocation Mode. A player would have the ability to create a new team and then either replace an exisiting team (basically a relocation) or add it to the league (expansion). You could then add a create a stadium/uniform/mascot,etc. for this.
Bugs:
-Bad Fielding, especially in the outfield
-Inability to edit every player and give signiture stances/windups to created players
-Inability to steal bases at a realistic rate

1. Outfielders not moving fluidly/not catching the ball
2. DL 1 day glitch
3. Franchise stats/progression

Top new features:
Offseason development- like can be found in the basketball games made by 2k. I would like to be able to a give a player a specific focus in the offseason. It would provide the gamer with more control over the developement of the players in the big leagues and the players in the farm system.
Create a stadium- This feature would add so much to the game. You would be able to recreate old stadiums like the polo grounds or old tiger stadium, and have the freedom to create new high tech ballparks for their favorite team. This is a must have feature!
Player drills- This would be a great feature for helping player to get better during the season and actually see results. It would be great to be able develope a young pitcher and actually see him get better throughout the season or watch as your star rookie shortstop developes opposite field power.
Bugs:
Player editing: In depth editing of current players. Last season Jason giambi grew a mustache and this year rick ankiel did the same thing. It would be great to able to edit everything from appearance to a pitcher abilities and pitch types. A pitchers delivery is unique and it is crucial for a player to be able to get a created player or an already existing players delivery or batting stance exactly the way she liked.
Stealing bases: I grew up watching Rickey Henderson steal bases and make a huge difference from game to game. It should be a much easier task to steal bases and by that I mean the interface used to steal bases. The controls from 2k9 were awkward and difficult to use make stealing bases almost impossible.
Fielding: In 2k9 it was very rare to rob someone of a home run. I dont want the opposite end of the spectrum, but I would like to actually be able to do it. Fielding needs to be improved, from diving catches to errant throws, and I would love to see sliding plays made in the infield.

patssox2004
May 8th, 2009, 03:16 PM
Features
-I would really enjoy a feature like NFL 2k5 where every week the announcers would recap games that were exciting, had a little history or impacted a playoff race... that would be so cool.
- Owner Mode like MVP baseball 2005(Controling ticket prices, food and drink prices and concessions
- Like Madden 2009, have something that analyzes your skill level automatically, so you don't have to keep adjusting sliders when you become better(or worse) at the game. This way, people won't have to worry about realism
Bugs:
- The one day DL bug really sucks
- Fixing the flyball glitch, where you are under the circle yet the ball goes right through the glove
- Fix the stats eninge, which yields some unrealstic results 10 years into franchise.

May 8th, 2009, 10:52 PM
Features
1. Career Mode: like road to the show on MLB The Show
2. Create a Team: like NCAA football 10 is doing in.... internet database....
3. 25 Greatest Games Ever: something that you can play games from real life.... have people vote on the best 25 games.... before the game comes out.....
Bugs
1. FIELDING.... Just fix IT
2. Franchise data make sure its right.... like Lincecum didn't win the CY in 216.... mlb 2k9 says that
3. Baserunning
Make sure you test the game... before u release it this time..... and if you have to move the date back for release do it.... I think the consumer would rather wait then buy a game that isn't finished!!!!!!!
I will make a other thread for my features in more detail.....
-Sonnenschein-
May 8th, 2009, 11:21 PM
Top 3 New Features:
1) Create-A-Team + take that team into Franchise + #3
2) Create-A-Stadium
3) Owner Mode like in MVP 2005, just better
Top 3 fixes:
1) Every small detail in Franchise mode
2) Fielding (outfield flyballs; outfielder slowdown before reaching the ball etc.)

1. Road to the show..... don't care what it is called but you will have it
- Really deep Create a player
- Photo game face
- Name brand apparel.... batting gloves, under shirts, cleats, bats, sunglasses gloves...
+ Oakley, Nike, Rawlings...
- Signature Style
- Spring Training... controls players ratings
- AAA, AA, A all playable
- Player Weapons.... Power hitter, Power Pitcher, RBI, Speed, Like Madden 08....
- Clubhouse.... check mail, workouts, resting, etc...
- Make it feel like your in the big leagues
Why do this MLB the show has it so you might as well too.... and everyone wants it... because normally the people that buy 2k don't have a ps3... and it might change ps3 owners because i'm sure they buy the show instead of 2k... it would make this game sell more copies
2. Create A Team and Stadium
- Internet based....
- Upload own logo ideas....
- have 200 or so logos to choose from
- all different styles of uniforms.... colors, pinstripes, etc...
- Stadiums from the ground up....
- all stadium types old school, new school, everything custom
+ seat color, grass color, dirt, fence, stands, etc..... logos in grass, on mound
- Create own league
Why: People like to customize... it wouldn't take disc space, you would be able to create your own leagues if you wanted to... online or not
3. Greatest Games
Never seen it in a baseball game i don't think... would give the game more life... just another option to do with the game if you get bored with franchise or whatever just saying.... Get to play with old favorite teams like the Mariners when they had arod, griffey and johnson, play world series over to see it your team would of won if you did it.... I think it would give you something different that the show doesn't have.... or the situation like derek jeter's play at the plate in the world series something like that....
get rid of the player cards they aren't that cool... I think the create a team would be better.... instead of have a millstones thing because stats is everything in baseball....
I think people would enjoy it...

FEATURES:
1. Full Editing Options
2. Editing CPU teams line ups and rotations in franchise
3. Create-a-.... (Team (usable in franchise mode) , Stadium (for the created team) , Player during Franchise)
BUGS:
1. Franchise crash (franchise is the only reason I buy this game, this year killed me)
2. Injury bug (Franchise without my favorite players is no fun.)
3. Outfield Errors

Player weapons would be pretty cool like they have in Madden, like Speedsters, Power Pitchers, Finnesse pitchers, Homerun hitters. It would probably help with stat simming if it were somehow programmed into the game.

Top three features that need to be in 2k10:
1. Franchise (with spring training incorperated into the season)

Top Bug fixes

2. Collision detection needs to work (take out slides, fielders running into each other)
3. Lag when fly balls get hit. Also fielders getting up waaaaay to slow after they dive for a play.

2. Foul ball glitches
3. Creating Players in franchise.

I just gotta say more music, what's there is great nice diverse selection but more more more.
New Features
1.Be A Player mode (don't care what you call it =p)
2.More time spent on fluidity of character movements, and overall look of character models.
3.Depth of realism never hurts any game, occasionally have a fan charge the field, player severely injured EMT's onto field, jets flying over head, birds on the field, beachball onto field, occasional heckler locks in on struggling player and never underestimate the power of a diverse and well designed crowd as it lends more to a realistic experience, also add all the mascots, more team specific crowd chants with proper strings to trigger them. And more electronic signs like the digital walls at Rogers Centre
Top 3 Bugs
1.The entire outfield system needs a huge revamp, from running bases to fielders making a dive is all very tedious at best and downright laughable at worst (and not in a good way) pitching in my opinion is pretty close to perfect so not much to change there.
2.EXTREMELY poor execution of in game generated cinematics, from cameras pointing at the players feet as they leave the field,to cameras lodged inside a players head no doubt in a effort to give an idea of what he was thinking on the last botched play,to a camera locked onto a home run ball as we get to experience what it would be like to be a baseball from a "in front of looking behind view" -_- cmon.
3.I think I have covered most of my issues in 2 so I'll close with saying I love this game more then anything EA has put out I don't know why cause it is pretty buggy, but I do so I have no doubt with a little more money put into this your 2010 incarnation will no doubt surpass EA's offering.

Please 2K, if you add one feature, add a Career mode. I think most of the franchise players would play that and would not care so much if all the details weren't added in the franchise. It would still be nice if you added the franchise features that people have suggested too.

New
1. A Career/Be a Pro/RTTS mode
2. Create a Team or a more in depth franchise with stadium creation like MVP 2005.
3. This kind of goes with more in depth franchise, but I'd like to see 40-man rosters and sept. call-ups.
Fixes
1. DL glitch
2. Franchise stats glitches
3. easier base stealing

Here is what an IN-DEPTH career mode should be like:
- Create a player
- Get drafted (Should have some drills depending on position to determine draft position)
- Spring Training (Accumulate stat points to raise your player's attributes)
- Assigned a level based on Spring Training performance
- Training drills would help progress player throughout year (Maybe training drills available once a week)
- Player should get multiple training drills in off-season to help boost attributes
- Player should be able to: Request trades, request playing time, request being called up, demand new contracts with one year left, have player/club/team options on contract.
- Player should be able to be designated for assignment/released if not doing what is expected
- Player should be able to be called up during September
Also: Player should be able to change batting stance/pitching windup/ appearance whenever.
Player should also be able to change desired (Fielding ability would be increased through use of drills)

New Feature:
1, Player career mode
we have this mode in a game called "Pro-Yakyu (means Professional Baseball in japanese) Spirit 5" sold in japan and surprisingly its very fun to play. (Fifa 09 has it too) You can be a player in the game/created ones etc.
2, GM career mode (there was before 2k9)

1. Fix the reliever bug (PC Version)
One of the many issues with the PC version was the reliever bug. Everytime when I would play a franchise or an exhibition game, I would sometimes bring in one of my relievers during the 6th, 7th, 8th or the 9th inning. At any time while the reliever was pitching, the game would freeze to the desktop.
2. Fix the players cyberfaces when they were just traded, or signed as a free agent.
Especially in the franchise mode, there were problems when a traded player or a free agent player had a generic face within the game.

Some sort of Road to the Show type of thing like the MLB 09 series but make it so theres more minor league fields and more in depth to what an up in coming star has to go through with like mutiple contract offers and what round hes drafted and etc. but you should also be able to play as people like Strasburg (i think that the San Diego State phenoms name) or play as Ryan Howard whos all ready made it to the show. You also should be able to practice during like the off season right before Spring Training like Madden does with their superstar mode cause I think all of people would like to know what its like to be an up and coming phenom or have them talked about everyday on Baseball Tonight.

Name the Top 3 New Features and Top 3 Bug fixes you’d like to see in MLB2K10
New features
- deeper GM/Franchise mode (the ability to add new stuff to your stadium, build new stadiums, change prices, etc. - think Madden). This is soooo needed - it made MVP a great game and provides so much more depth - I know this feature was asked for in previous years and it's so desperately needed, give the player the option to use their imagination to add/create a great baseball experience (plus I have to keep playing in the Metrodome!)
- Collisions!!! You have to be able to take out a double play attempt and let the fielders run into each other if they don't call the other fielder off
- spring training/development time - this was again a great feature of MVP - gives you the opportunity to use some guys from the minors and possibly develop them (or current players) so their skill level grows every year (kind of how real baseball works)
*Extra Credit
- the ability to manage a game (whether it be from the beginning of a game or halfway through a game). A great feature and stills allow you to enjoy the game (and think/manage it) without having to play every game (but MUCH better than just siming a game)
- WORKING SCOREBOARDS!!!
- let their be rain delays, postponed games, snow delayed games (Detroit, Philly, etc.). Needs a tad more realism outside of the "game" itself
- please let us argue a call with the manager...please. You can't allow for the umps to blow calls and then not let the managers go argue with the ump for blowing it! (and maybe charge the mound when you get beaned)
Bug fixes
- random balls going over the outfields head when you are standing in the yellow circle and the fielder has his glove up to catch the ball
- the fielders slowing WAAAAAY down when a fly ball is hit and they get inside the gray circle (the ball ends up dropping in for a hit when the fielder was there in plenty of time but slows down right outside the yellow circle)
- all your settings not saving after you leave a game (and save it). In particular, when you play a game and change the camera options (zoom, height, etc.), you play the game, save it and turn the console off. When you go back to play the game again, all your camera angles are lost and you have to do it all over again (gets very old and very annoying when you are trying to play most games in a season!) (I can only say this for 360 - haven't played it on Play Station or Wii).

June 9th, 2009, 10:01 AM
another feature that is lacking, is the collision detection, or lack thereof, its annoying to see a player walk away from the plate and walk through the other player coming to bat that's unacceptable I can see that on a ps2, or wii, but not on the next gen consoles, I hope this can be fixed in 2k10. Another issue is the dugout animations/reactions should be tweaked so that they are connected to the game, don't have the manager raising his arms in disbelief when his team is up a bunch, so there should be a more cause and effect of the player gestures and animations from the dugout/bullpen. it was mentioned here as well that taking out a player on a slide to 2nd to break up the double play should exist. as well it would be nice if walk off homeruns, had celebrations at the plate, as it is right now, the camera doesn't even capture the entire thing, they will show the guys walking out of the dugout, and then from varied angles you see the guy at home plate. another issue, in the same vein, is to have the end of the game the teams do the actual player handshake, like takes place in real life, as it is right now, the game ends, and everyone walks off the field, rather lame. Lastly, another presentation issue, is the curtain call. Its easy to show a nice view from inside the dugout, and zoom out when the player walks up the stairs and tips his cap to the fans! I would like to have the option to argue calls with the umpire again like in 2k7.... its necessary we shouldn't be screwed by the ump and not have a say in the matter. it would be nice to have all the scoreboards, and have them be active. Side note, at the new yankee stadium, there is no scoreboard in the outfield, I hope they can fix that as well, the bullpen issues someone already mentioned here as well.

fix
I am not getting my franchise achievements in 2k9 so fix that please

June 11th, 2009, 12:19 PM
Features
1. Career mode-Play through the minors and get to the majors.
2. Create a team-More choices.
3. Better jersey authentication
Bugs
1. Fielding Fly balls in the outfield, players slow down.
2. Stealing bases to hard.
3. Players run into the wall and do not stop when a ball is hit of the wall.
There seems to be a lot of bugs that have been in past games that haven't been changed. Nonetheless, 2kSorts games are my favorite. Keep up the good work.
(add the independent leagues, so the Wichita Wingnuts can be on the game, hahaha. Only kidding.)

1. another thing i think would help, is a certain game mode. In mlb the show, you can create your own player, use him in the minors, and get to the majors and have a full career. i think it is an awesome mode, and games go very quickly, as you are only using your player. i think that adding this feature to 2k10 would make the game so much better. hopefully you guys listen to this, because i'm sure many more people would want to buy it, and it would increase popularity. You could call it something like Career Mode
2. Offseason improvement
3. Base Stealing is impossible
1. All fielding glitches
2. Not picking up the ball
3. Strike Zone
Lysendc
June 13th, 2009, 05:23 PM
I agree about the dugouts, It seem like anytime there is a shot to the dugout, whatever is happening in there is totally off. And sometimes after games, the camera view will be on the dugout as if it were to be on someone else, but kind of just glitches. Fixes on things like this will make the game more like a real broadcast and more enjoyable.
2k TILL I DIE
June 13th, 2009, 10:35 PM
3 THINGS I'D LIKE TO SEE IN MLB 2K1O
1.Create-A-Mode
Stadiums , Players , and, Teams (and maybe even create a jersey)
2.Old and New Modes back
.Manager Mode
It was great in mlb 2k7
(If you need space remove HR Derby, I dont even think people play it)
. In depth Carrer mode
Maybe call it Prospect Mode, where the player can create a prospect/player and then build his stats up by playing mini games and just good old minor league baseball games.
3.Details
.In franchise mode, you cant edit the cost of tickets or adds being played or any thing other then line ups or pitching rotations. It would be great if this was possible.
.More detailed player models
I noticed that the no name players have the same faces.
(please fix Manny Rameriz's and Jed Lowrie's Faces)
.Better detailed jersey's (a meeting of last years jerseys/Too much and this years jerseys/Not enough)
.More detialed stadiumns
I noitced that the green monster in boston doesnt have the wb mason signs and such on it, i think things like this are needed to give the game more authenticity.( Add police men in the stands and the ball wranglers that get the ball when its hit foul and give it to a fan)
.Player indivisualism
Too many batters have the same generic batting stances and walk ups and celebrations
3 THINGS I'D LIKE FIXED
1.The Slowing down of players when they try to catch a fly or pop up
(they often end up cathing it but occasionaly drop the ball)
2.Franchise Es/Errors
.Freezes
.stats;Example.(Jeter allstar in 216)and (Cano hitting .290 and 35 HRs)
.Stupid trades;Example.( Arod for Ramon Castro)
.Stupid signings;Example.(Nationals Sign Albert Pujols for 25.55M)
3.Base Running
(I dont think that Shnieder from the Mets TM can throw out Carl Crawford from the Rays TM)
So why does it happen in MLB 2K9?
So Thats what i think needs to happen for mlb 2k10, because otherwise MLB:THE SHOW is gonna take over Completely!!

Player should also be able to change desired (Fielding ability would be increased through use of drills)
that is perfect

New Features
1. Pay Season w/card team.
2. Edit Player features.
3. Better/more visual/audio display when a HR is hit than just having the chessy "Home Run" graphics on the score board. Something in the vein of how NHL2K9 had it when you scored a goal...the screen went crazy w/the red light and the horn and sirens ....that was great!
Bugs (I got more than 3.)
1. Franchise Freezing
2. Fielding -Having your guy right on the yellow circle and he drops the ball. I can see a player dropping a ball once in a great while, but it happens regularly.
-Moving your guy over to a fly ball and your guy starts to slow down or you can't seem to move him over w/the stick when he gets on the outer edge of the circle.
-The slowness w/how many times the fielders get the ball out of their hands to turn a double play or come home for an out.
-If a ball is ripped having the outfielder highlighted and not being able to highlight the infielder to make a diving catch like the CPU does.
3. Injury prone (CPU) makes every diving catch under the sun and they're players are find. You make a diving catch and you're hurt. Also, I had like five pitchers go on the DL within 4 weeks....and it's not like I'm bringing them out w/o warming them up. Other times it's been starting pitchers getting injured only after 2-3 innings of work.
4. Pitching Composure -Pitchers get rattled way too quickly. When they do the game makes it to where just about any pitch you throw gets hit for a HR or hammered. 2K has guys like Rivera and Sabathia getting rattled w/ a guy on third and only up by one run....2K these guys rarely get rattled especially Moe.
5. DL -I get a guy to 1Day Left and he's stuck on 1Day Left for days.
6. Hitting -having guys destroy pitches (guys w/a lot of power, A-Rod, Texiera), but because it's against a certain pitcher they don't leave the park.
-Have them fix players like D. Ortiz hitting contact. 2K has it to where he pretty much hits any pitch you throw him. Hello, has 2K actually watched Ortiz in the past three years? His average gone down and down every year. It practically took him two months before he hit a HR.
7. Stealing -I get great jumps yet my guy is only half way to second and the ball is thrown...and I'm running w/B. Gardner, he's one of the fastest guys in the League. He even scored a inside the park HR in late May. The CPU pretty much steals w/ease, it's a joke!
8. Base Running -you'll move your stick to go to a base and your guy changes directions to go back and ends up getting thrown-out.
-Having your guy run hard into a base and he overshoots it and our thrown-out.
-The ease of being able to have an inside the park HR. Attention 2K -it rarely happens in baseball.
9. Being able to edit players numbers. 2K needs to do their homework to see which numbers are retired on a team. I got Ben Sheets in free agency and the computer gave him the number 15, that's Thurman Munson's number, The Captain whose number was retired after a plane crash.
10. Trading Cards -I've unlocked the same card over and over and over again. I save my file after I get them and yet the catalog says the card(s) is locked upon the next Load.

Sony already has that copyrighted. Seriously, 2K probaby isn't allowed to carry out what you said above. You just described MLB 09 The Show's ' Road to the Show ' mode perfectly in detail. It's not gonna happen.

-I totally agree. It would be nice to see the different events and/days that are commemorated in MLB. Teams wearing throwbacks, Jackie Robinson Day, Players wearing the Stars and Stripes hats for Memorial and Independence Day, the pink bats for Mother's Day.
Also, like you said, expanded camera angles for Walk-Offs, bigger celebrations for Walk-Offs, better graphics/audio for HR's, curtain calls, commemorate (during the game) when a player reaches a milestone or when he breaks a great record.
3. Add a better way to run on the bases and in the outfield, seems like players are sometimes (even fast ones) hampered from running, regardless of their natural speed abilities.

players with high fielding ratings need to play that good in the game. ive got ichiro who has won 8 straight gold gloves has 15 errors a season in my franchises. plus people like jack cust who shouldnt even field get best fielder awards for getting 30 assists a season.

Features:
1. Create a stadium.
2. mini games.
3. owner mode or a be a pro mode.
Bugs:
1. Outfielders are too fast, Adam Dunn shouldn't be able to get a ball in the gap.
2. Expand the create a player mode.*
3. Fix the controls for stealing bases. With this year you able to change the way you hit, pitched, and even fielded. Why cant we have that option for base running? Get it fixed.
* With the expansion of create a player. I was extremely disappointed with it, because i wasnt able to get cool windup or batting stance. Could you possibly use that new project natal coming out next year to allow the players to create their own windups and batting stances? If so that would be awesome, but make sure we get options though.

3.Fielders in general(like the slowdown thing and also the opposite where people like Gary Sheffield and Griffey Jr. are making diving catches in the gaps that would be doubles or triples in real life/balls going over heads/when running for a ball in the air, i feel like i cant go diagonal, only north, south, east, and west)

Features:
This game needs to have 40 man rosters for september call ups.
Arbitration if a top free agent is picked up by another team you get the other teams draft pick.
A Good drafting system because that will be what your going to live on for many years after the first season.
the ability to scout players from other countries and bid for japanese players. that was a cool feature in FOM.
Stadiums need to come alive when something happens. for example when a home team gets a homerun then fireworks or whatever they have at that stadium need to go off.
The ability to show stats in an at bat as well as the player name like in past games.
Bugs:
AI outfielders are way too fast and they get everything. And AI Infielders dive for too many things
The Ratings for players are screwed up, the best fielders in baseball dont get gold gloves such as ichiro and grady seizmore. And batting stats are screwed up because players who have a 45 power rating hit 25 homeruns when their career highs are under 10. And players like adam dunn and ryan howard dont hit over 40 themselves but hit like 20 with 5 doubles.
Playable fielders are so slow and cannot run diagonally or even get the the ball quickly.
Its impossible to basesteal

Bugs:

Features:
1. Create-a-batting stance - Customize positioning in batters box, open/closed stance, width that feet are spread apart, crouching/standing straight, head positioning, hand positioning, leg step, bat movements prior to pitching, and swing follow through
2. Extremely in-depth franchise mode
-something fresh and new
-owner mode
-minors A - AAA
-If a player goes on the DL, have the option to send him on a rehab assignment prior to coming off the DL so that he can sharper his skills. Sometimes players are rusty when coming off the DL if they don't rehab
-Something similar to Madden Superstar mode
3. Improve the stadium atmosphere
-Roofs that actually open and close, sometimes during the game if it starts to rain
-take batting practice prior to the game to warm players up
-if its a clutch situation the crowd should get rowdy
-if you're at home and getting beat badly, people start to leave and you can noticeably see that there are fewer people in the crowd
-fireworks after homeruns
-Basically attend a weeks worth of baseball games and take notice to what actually goes on at a big league game
-Take notice to the in game entertainment/gimmicks that the pro teams have...ie Sausage Races in Milwaukee
Bugs
1. Puffs of dust when players run on the infield dirt, is absolutely horrific looking.
2. Unrealistic statistics.
3. Ship the game without major glitches.

FEATURES:
#1. some be a pro mode when you can be your self going through the minors from AA. and be able to costomize your players batting stances or if its a pitcher thier windup.plus emotions while waiting for pitch or walk up ritual. walk up music, be able to insert the music or just have a poll of music people might want in the game. i need this the most.
#2. some create a team and park mode mabye in franchise. you can create the jersey/logo/ where the team is from. for the park be able to make the lights and the stands mabye unique things about the park like fenway has the monster, if you were a team called the tiger sharks or sumthin you could have a shark tank, something like that. be able to make the wall hights and mabye the bullpen places.
#3.make better atmosphere for the stadiums. when theres a homerun have the crowd scream. if there is a team with not a lot fans if the team is doing well have more fans appear. ball park celebrations! like the mets apple or the philles liberty bell. be able to do some sort of practice of pregame warmups. have vendors in the backround. have them stop and give snacks to fans. let the fan get the balls foul better dont just make them jump. let the wave start at times. even a beach ball passing around in the crowd. good walk up music.
BUGS:
#1. the fielding glitches were horrible. i had 2 outs and bases loaded and the ball was hit into the outfield and was right under it and it went through me and passes for a 3 run tripple. that happend more than once in a game. just please fix the fielding so i dont have to cross my fingers when a ball is hit to the outfield. its like just before elsberry is going to catch the pop up a little leaguer is put in for a second.
#2. the fielding was the only one i had a lot of trouble with but once i hit the ball to the wall and just before the fielder cought it he went through the wall. i got an inside the park home run. cant really complain because it was the xbox's player that went through the wall not me. and it only happend once. but it might be a good thing to fix up.
#3. lastly i stole with with elsberry and he got out on a really bad throw it just didnt look like he was that fast in the game when he is really fast. same with a lot of other really fast players.

Top 3 Features:
(1)Don't know if this is knew but the difficulty and game settings sliders are INDISPENSABLE. I've seen 2k9 take a lot of flak for the realism and AI in the game but one thing that can not be criticized is the depth of the difficulty sliders. THIS TOTALLY REDEEMED THE GAME FOR ME; PLEASE KEEP IT PART OF FUTURE EDITIONS. It allows users to adjust difficulty and create more realistic, rewarding game experiences. For example, I used the AI pitching sliders to increase the number of balls thrown because before I found it impossible to work the count, and exercise patience at the plate. I slowed the AI outfielders down a step so they can't track down so many schorched balls to the outfield. It changed the experience for me completely, and made the game so much more rewarding and fun. Can't say enough about the customizability of this game.
(2) I like that you have the option to turn off release timing for pitching this year. The pitching this year is great; and it just feels so much better than button press timing mini games.
(3) Changing the aiming to the left analog also a great improvement. Again, great hitting system, the right analog is a million times better than a single button push.
Fixes
(1) The nonsense in the outfield MUST be fixed. Running through the wall, or the AI simply failing to pick up the ball, leading to inside the park home runs? No good. Also, the fluidity of the outfieders as they run to the ball should be fixed.
(2) Players walking through one another, inexplicably dissapearing, or recording "phantom outs" that shouldn't be recorded.
(3)Redundancy and repetition in hit types. For example, wouldn't it be great if you couldn't tell if you hit a home run until it goes over the fence, instead of the second it comes off the bat? For example, a ball looks like a warning track fly out, but after several excrutiating seconds of suspense, it just sneaks over the wall!

Well My Main Thing For You To Correct Next Year Is To Address The Problem Of People Quitting During An Online Game. At The Moment On 2K9 If an opponent quits ( It Happens All The Time ) You Do Not Get Any Points For Winning And They Do Not Get Deducted Points For Quitting / Losing
If You Are Trying To Make Your Way Up The Leaderboard You Need To Complete And Win Games.
In 2K9 I Have Won 42 Games And About 32 Of Those Have Been Won By People Quitting, Which Means i Do Not Recieve Any Points.
IN 2K10 Please Penalise People For Quitting And Allow The Winner In Those Instances To Gain Points.

1. Full Length and quality player celebrations (especially after walk offs) instead of the game just being over or the scene prematurely ended. Cool team celebrations like jumping on the plate (as featured in the show) or curtain calls would be welcome.
2. The game has no drama mostly because of the lack of enthusiasm from the crowd, the players and the atmosphere something mvp baseball did perfectly, (I'm sure you're tired of hearing about MVP baseball but give the customers what they want and learn from the game) it was the intense atmosphere and roar of the crowd that made the big moments special.
3. Get rid of the jerky movements, make animations more natural and fluid (like mlb the show) and please have some kind of physics driven collisions (especially at the plate collisions where the animations are so obviously prerendered).
Bring some LIFE to this game please!

Here is my take on pros and cons of 2k9 and suggestions for 2k10. (only my opinion and I realize a lot of things have been touched on several times.
1: GAME PLAY
A. Overall gameplay is decent. Common bugs in 2k9:
-fielding fly balls can be impossible to catch at times, if you have a "player call off" feature then there should be possible collisions, otherwise why have it?
-Also, need to have directional slide features to break up double plays, etc.
-When a ground ball is hit to first base, the first baseman tosses the ball to the covering pitcher at "warp speed" and the pitcher runs to the bag at "warp speed" (unrealistic).
-Slow-motion of fielding balls needs to change.
-Have the catcher toss his mask for pop-ups.
-when warming up a pitcher to bring in, allow the user to sub him in before you hit the field the next inning.
-fix the "walking through of players and umpires" there not hollow or invisible.
-allow full editing capabilities all the way down to the minors. (facial features, weight, stances, etc.)
-fix the display of player positions. example: when a pinch hitter comes up to bat, show the initials "PH". same goes for position players, if a guy plays RF but also 1B, when he is in the lineup, don't display him as the RF if you have him playing 1B in the lineup.
-how about a timeout/mound visit by the catcher and infield. its not always the manager. (keep the composure rating though).
-have rain delays, rainouts, double-header make-ups (more realistic)
-have people or kids sitting on chairs to catch and chase foul balls then have them toss them into the stands (same goes for players who catch fly balls). the "bat boys" were a great feature this year.
-have player and manager arguments and ejections with umpires.
-allow the user to import and edit advertising displays throughout each stadium.
-show the current stats for players when they come up to bat (ie: AVG 259 4 HR 34 RBI)
-fan interference (ground-rule doubles, etc.) home run and foul ball fans reaching for ball was another great feature this year)
2: GRAPHICS
-fix the managers jackets/parkas. put the team logo on it. they should'nt be wearing them in the middle of july and august either.
-fix the color issues. if the colors are black or white then they should look black and white. not gray.
-fix the dust clouds (too cheesy)
-uniforms: (allow the user to choose the shirt) and obviously the away team should be wearing gray pants. some teams do wear their alternate shirts during away games. also implement special uniforms. ie: mother's day (pink shirts, hats, bats, wristbands), st. patricks day (green hats, etc.), 4th of July.
-i've seen umpires with black heads and white arms. (come on!)
-fix the hats on the player pics. if espn can do it when a player gets traded then i'm sure you can find a way.

haha im pretty sure the season doesnt start until after st. patricks day, but good idea, boston does have a green alternate, but im not sure when they wear it, spring training maybe?
i think spring training would be a good feature, where you can call up your prospects and mix them in
also, i too have seen umpires with white arms and black heads, its pretty funny
i also like the idea of the manager arguments and ejections, mlb live 05 had this feature, where you would press a button to come out and argue, and based on how angry you got, or other variables, you would either boost your teams ratings, or get tossed and lose the option of subbing in players (the computer would take over)

At the end of a game, the whole teamshould high 5 each other like in the show. They should have better reactions to end of game, not just walk back to dugout. To add on to that, the should stick with having the team in the dugout but make it less glitchy and have them to do more interactive stuff.

Fix baserunning everyone looked slower running like jose reyes some people looked like they were running partly sideways.
Better bat sounds. its really unrealistic.
Have an even more variety of names for create a player
Better ingame faces players really need to look real
Make basecoaches and bat boys realistic
In franchise mode, be able to fire coaches and hire new ones or exchange your coach for another one. Ex: Bruce bochy for joe torre.

Announcing should be more interactive. Say more about the players like their stats, personal life stuff. Say the lineups. Get better announcers like mike krukow and duane kuiper the giants announcers or matt vasgersian and joe buck. Also, have a better PA guy he doesn't show much emotion, most PA's do.
Like others have said, make scoreboards like mlb 09 the show
Have better fans, beach balls, vendors, mascots, crazy people run on field, show a player get interviewed after game.
Have scores of games on the walls instead of having it blank.
More and better ads, no pepsi.
No organ sounds
If team sucks don't have as many fans, if team is good have sellouts, if team progresses show more fans as it goes.
Don't be lazy guys, try to be like Mlb the show

More interactions with your coaches especially base coaches
Have pitching coaches in bullpen and come out for mound visits
Most of us want 40 man rosters, and september call ups
In franchise mode have interactive scouting reports like video or team meetings.
Make sure the game is good enough to put out but overall if u want the best 2k game look up to THE SHOW games but don't exactly copy them but try to make their stuff even better
YOU CAN DO IT

Top Bug Fixes:
1) Fielding Glitches (Missed fly balls, non-attempted ground balls, way too many diving plays by CPU)

I think a nice feature in the game would be to have many different announcers in the game and you can select for each game who you would want to announce the game.
Of couse I want the game to work correctly with no bugs? Any one like that idea>

NO!!!!!!!!!!!!! Please do not get them!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! They are beyond terrible. Get rid of Steve Phillips. I would love team specific announcers. If anything get another person to be with Gary Thorne.

I have an idea to something in madden 09. There were madden moments where you could go back to the 07-08 season and play some real life situations, so i was wondering maybe 2K can do something like that. Get a couple of Famous games form this year into there and have the ability to play the famous moment or game.
List includes
-Last inning of buerhle Perfect game
-Indians Blowout of Yankees in april
-Heltons 500th double
There also should be standing ovations to give as well because this idea wont mean anything if you cant have standing ovations, curtain calls, or getting that milestone achievement and the proper celebration for it.

1) The fielders are creating too much errors, especially when grabbing for a routine fly ball (quick pace)
2) Not every fan who comes into the stadium brings a baseball glove
3) Injuries ---> please fix

I think the controls and everything are great unfortunately the problems with the game are MAJOR:
1. Franchise crashing problem
2. Fielding problem
3. DL problem
Fixed those and send me a free copy of 2k10 and I might gain some trust back in the company and but 2k games in the future 2k has taken quite a bit of my money over the years the least they could do would be to give me a free copy of the 2k10 with everything fixed.

Number 1. Player Editing. And I'll be specific.
Allow us to edit stances, pitches, pitch types, etc, on all players.
In create-a-player, allow us to
edit the batting stance
edit the swing type (two hands over the shoulder, ala Vlad Guerrero, or one handed finish, ala Albert Pujols)
home run swing (cocky, ala Manny Ramirez, or classy, ala Scott Rolen i.e. drop head and hustle around the bases)
pitch delivery, out of the stretch, windup, etc.
Strikeout reaction (pumped up, ala Joba Chamberlain, or a calm reaction)
Give players a personality.
Number 2. Playoff baseball. Make playoff ball intense. It's hard to distinguish between a regular season game in the 2nd inning and a playoff game in the 9th inning
Number 3. 40 man rosters with September callups.
The glitches I'd like to see fixed:
1. Fielding. It's way too choppy. I still have issues with fly balls that simply fall past the OFer, even post-patch. Make fielding smooth, and rely more on accurate attributes to make errors. A big problem with this game is that every player is a 100 at his natural position (Adam Dunn is a 100 ovr. defensively in LF).
2. The injury glitch. I play this game without injuries on, and that just isn't baseball. Players on the DL continuously have 1 day remaining. Also, there should be some sort of "durability" attribute. A guy like Tejada, who played a ton of consecutive games, should rarely be injured, and a guy like JD Drew should be out on a daily basis with a papercut)
3. The sliders need work. Maybe it isn't a glitch, but have a set of "realism" sliders. Sliders designed to get 8-10 hits on average per game over a season, realistic home run totals (about 1 per team per game), realistic extra base hits... Make at least one slider set that's a challenge and not an impossibility.

1. not necessarily a road to the show mode because i don't want to copy the show franchise for ps3...but something in franchise mode or another mode that allows you to sim through pitching, or sim through a few batters.
2. i agree with more "****ing" on home runs, be able to pick out your own style, as well as pick from the ones pro's already have
3. have more time for walk out music and more camera time of them walking up to the plate. call me crazy but i played baseball for 17 years and i loved hearing that music while walking up to the plate and would love to see that in the game.
on a small side note too, i'd love to see multiple jerseys for every team. if they have 8 alternates, put them all in the game, along with more create a player options

New Features:
1.Road to the Show mode like in MLB 09 The Show
2.Manager mode
3.Create a team and create stadium and manage it
Top Bugs:
1.Make the gameplay feel more like a simulation
2.Many players have the same exact face.
3.Accesories for players are terrible. You should make them look better and add more stuff.

New Features:
3. Spring Training
2. 40-man roster
1. Performance Progression/Regression - hitting slumps/pitching woes/poor fielding and hot streaks affects player performance ratings during the season and taken into account for next season.
Bug Fixes:
3. No collision detection
2. Pinch hitter on the mound
1. Not enough players on CPU teams in Franchise mode (Real Examples: 4 catchers on the NY Yankees with three relief pitchers and Rivera in the bullpen, Cincinnati Reds with just three starters)
