If there is something that isn't touched upon in the other threads in the forum, please post here to improve MLB 2K10. Anything that isn't miscellaneous will be removed.

Player accesories need to be where they were. Things like jersey top buttons being buttoned or unbuttoned dont but honestly one armed long sleeves need to be back. Band for the wrist and forearms need to be back with a short and a wide wrist band option and of course with numbers. Arm sleeves need to be back with a color option. Here is a good piece of advice to incorperate: Dont have this massive array of colors for player accesories. Have the basic colors, like for shades have lenses that are orange, blue, or black tint with black or sliver frames. Thats all the colors you need! With accesories all that needs to be there is black, white, and team colors. Not this wide range of colors that dont even remotley look right. Also brings back the real baggy pants and jerseys.

How about this for 2k10: keep the graphics from this and use the 2k7 or 2k8 engine. Unlimited edits for the customer, not this 166 edits and locked out like 2k9. Fielders actually catch the ball when they are under it. The ball doesn't stay visible during multi-player games. Penalizing online players for quitting when they are losing, fix the franchise mode. But above all, don't rush 2k10 out like 2k9 was rushed. I really wanna buy 2k10 the day it comes out, but I won't until I know for sure the bugs from 2k9 are fixed, if they remain, I won't buy it.

-Offer an online manual. If you guys are going to offer new features and skimp on the manual that comes with the game, why not offer an online manual? Even just a generic, text only PDF. It doesn't have to be anything fancy, but explain everything about the game. I don't understand for the life of me the refusal to do this for 2K9. Why wouldn't you want the players to maximize their experience with the game? Just a very odd tactic that makes no sense.
Slider definitions and movement explanations. Some of the slider terms are confusing and without running tests, we sometimes don't know if moving something left or right will make it better or worse.
Ex:
AI Pitcher Strike out: To make less strike outs (easier) is it left or right?
AI pitcher Walk: To make less walks (harder) is it left or right?
See what I mean? Is left or right more or less or harder or easier?
Add a Road to the Show option. This game needs it bad.

Haven't played the game in a while but I will play again as soon as I get a new computer. I'll write more then, but for now a few things:
- make the game region free for X360 or sell it on PC again... no, rather do the second one! The modding options are awesome
- EDIT: keep the commentators: they are good!
- try to get more sponsors - just the Pepsi and State Farm ads can be very annoying
- mascots wouldn't be bad
- include a real Create-A-Team: with create a jersey, maybe even logo; and Create-A-Stadium (see further down)
- I've heard it's difficult to program but live scoreboards would be nice (including a manual one at Fenway)
- be able to turn on a display of how far your home run just sailed
- include an owner mode like in MVP Baseball 2005, just balance the budget better than MVP 2005 - it was too difficult to earn money and you never sold out one game: that's stupid: it's not like the world is like Tampa Bay (sorry, guys ;)): if you include one: the budget shouldn't be fixed for all eternity: get better, get better marketing contracts, raise the budget: oh yeah: include marketing and TV contracts etc.
- EDIT2: I'd care more for an owner mode than a Road to the Show type mode: I want to play with the entire game and don't want to be frustrated about a stupid pitcher who can't pitch
- EDIT3: whether in a mode like owner/Franchise/RTTS: be able to edit divisions: the D-backs in the AL East would be cool with me *lol*
- add some nice mini games like there are in The Bigs 2 or MVP 2005 or others
- EDIT4: include arguing calls, bench-clearing brawls (and a little minigame to determine who wins a brawl or gets tossed) and warnings/ ejections after an HBP
Suggestions for these suggestions ;):
Create-A-Team
- option to create logo with different samples ready but tons of options, too: the WWE Smackdown Series and Guitar Hero have some decent options to create logos/tattoos
- edit sleeve color, pants color, sock color, hat color
- w/ and w/o pinstripes; thickness of pin stripes; or even be able to have a flash or something cover the jersey
- the following jerseys can be edited/set up: St. Patrick's Day jersey, home, away, 2 alt attires
- be able to import graphics as logos (I'd love to play with college logos or other sports team logos)
- give us some naming options (like Comets, Gladiators, Coal Bears or whatever) so that the commentators won't keep saying "the Home Team" and "the Away Team". A possibility would be: "From [insert US state or continent here]" - same with custom stadium names
Create-A-Stadium:
- field dimensions: let us draw the field: we should be able to recreate the Fenway Park layout and not just a lame one with 330ft. in left and right and 405ft. in center: give us shaping tools to include round or straight walls or even zig-zag ones
- edit color of seats: NOT just red, blue, white or black please: A tool like in Paint where you can pick your color freely and edit the brightness would be awesome
- be able to define how the seating areas are: if I want a stadium with 100,000 seating capacity it should be possible by making the stadium higher behind the catcher or by adding a lot of seats behind the outfield
- be able to determine what color walls have and if the have plants on them or not (Wrigley Field)
- be able to determine if the background is a bay area or city or forest etc. (see MVP Baseball 2005)
- be able to pick a mascot and a special homerun animation (like the bell in whatever Philadelphia's park's name is)
- IF this mode makes it into the game: DON'T make the same mistake as EA did in MVP 2005 that you have to play for 8-10 years in order to upgrade your stadium to the max: give the option, but also give an option to upgrade it to max from the beginning
OK, that's a lot ;)

I would really enjoy a feature like NFL 2k5 where every week the announcers would recap games that were exciting, had a little history or impacted a playoff race... that would be so cool.

Create a Team/Stadium would be pretty cool.
Career mode.
I would also like to see the AI improved such as in setting lineups, pitching rotation, bringing pitchers in, commentators addressing what ACTUALLY goes on in the game, correct emotions for players in the dugout and managers.
I would also like to see a variety of injuries and correct injury types.
IE: There is no possible way Chris Ray could break his elbow by throwing a fastball that wasn't even swung at...
There are too many major injuries in 2k9.
AI should be smarter in the off-season. David Ortiz (90 overall) has been a free agent for 2 straight years, no one has signed him) Coincidence? Or just bad programming?
Player ejections and arguing calls should be added back into the game. Also collisions at second base should be put back (but not even close to as frequent as in 2k8) Maybe just in high pressure situations when teams really need baserunners.

Use the graphic engine from 2k7, the graphics in this years game are a huge step down from 2k7 (IDK how that happens, graphics generally get better with each release in most sports games) Bring back manger arguments, create a player/stadium. Less injuries, have players be able to swing through pitches, even if timed correctly, cause in real life not every perfectly timed swing guarntees contact. I think something also that would be cool would be to incorporate the MLB channel into the game, have them recap games and show highlights, maybe do overviews of playoff races late in the season, that would be da ****!

Also, add rain, rain delays, rain outs, double headers.
I thought the graphics were a lot better in this game than any other year's.
Also, when playing against the CPU, the AI should go into shifts for such players like David Ortiz, Carlos Pena, Jason Giambi, Jim Thome, etc.

One quick note is please get rid of the commercial like breaks in between innings that was in this year. Just a smooth transition is way better IMO.

WHAT! ARE YOU BLIND MAN! Go look at screen shots or fire up 2k7 and it's night and day! It was even mentioned in reviews I've read how the graphics have regressed! Yes, the graphics in this years game are better than in 2k8, but 2k7 still has by far the best graphics of the three, it's not even close.

I would like a lot better soundtrack in 2k10. This soundtrack had all a bunch of music that no one listens to and a bunch of hip hop from people who no one has ever heard of.

three things that could really make it better
1. white shoes for those superstars who wear them
2. bring back the uniforms blowing in the wind, quit taking away things that are fun and not broken
3. stadium sounds, like the tomahawk chop and the many sounds that are in the show. can someone say up-staging

These are random thoughts but.. I like to have as much customization as possible.
- By that I mean, in a franchise game I want to be able to customize everything: Where I play, what time, the weather etc. in stead of being stuck to playing at my home stadium all the time.
- There should be more customization of players looks, accessories, stances.
- There's not much differentiation between fat players and skinny players.
- We need to be able to edit players stances.
- I can't find create-a-player once inside franchise mode
- Instant replay control sucks. You should be able to control the camera like a FPS with the joysticks moving the camera.. not the d-pad and the left JS doing it all... that's reallllyyy confusing since they're both on the same side.

It would be nice if in the All Star Game, the coaches managed like a real All Star Game and it would be even better if you could some how figure out a way to expand the All Star Rosters.
It'd be nice to see the opposing coach use a lot of subs; only have the pitchers go an inning or two and see most of the other starters gone from the game by the 5th or 6th inning.

Make it to where i can make my pitcher bat 8th instead of 9th. Dodgers do that every game now with Juan Pierre batting 9th.
I have to keep him at 8 and i cant move my pitcher to the 8th spot.

Agreed with instant replay not working right. Once the next play starts you can't see the last. Also in 2k7 I think you were able to watch the instant replay of the whole inning which was REALLY cool.
Also agree with Trev with the subs thing. Pitchers come out too early etc.

Fielders should be able to pitch. theres been 3 or 4 teams thats put in a position player to take place of the pitcher in blowout gams and that should be added

Pause Game---> Game Stats ----> GameTrax
GameTrax lets you view the replay of any play. Had to figure this out on my own since the replay feature doesnt let you watch the previous play once pitcher is back on mound

Serious suggestion:
Do not release 2K10.
Since the biggest excuse for why 2K9 has quirky issues and seems incomplete in certain areas (like Franchise) is that VC didn't have enough time and had to build the game from the ground up, give yourselves another year to get things 100% correct. Release new rosters for the 2010 season that are playable in 2K9 and charge $20 if you want. Just take your time and make sure that MLB 2K11 is playable out of the box, doesn't freeze, has a working Franchise mode, has editing, etc.
Either that, or release 2K10 just like you did with 2K9 and charge less than the $60 standard...2K9 has been $40 at online retailers since March anyway. I will never again buy a 2K baseball game on release day or for $60, thanks to the fact that I was unable to play 2K9 for several weeks after release while waiting for patches and "Living Roster" updates. By the time I could actually start my franchise, I could have bought the game online and saved myself $20.

I think it would add a lot to the game if they added team/manager tendancies/philosophies to help differentiate the way AI teams play.
These tendencies could cover:
How often they attempt a steal of 2nd
How often they attempt a steal of 3rd
How often they sacrafice bunt early in a game in Sac situations
How often they sacrafice bunt late in a game in Sac situations
How often they squeeze early/late
How often they hit and run
How often they try to take the extra base on a ball in play
How likely a coach is to yank his pitcher at the first sign of trouble
How dependent upon left & right matchups a coach is
How likely a coach is to bring his closer in earlier than the 9th in a save/important situation
How likely a coach is going to bring the IF in to cut of a run early in the game
How much attention pitchers will focus on the runners (pickoffs/pitchouts)
How likely a coach is to intentionally walk a "big hitter" with a base open.
How likely a coach (NL games) is to pinch hit for his pitcher in the middle innings in a close game
How likely a coach is going to put in a late game defensive sub for a good hitter
Hitting philosophies: Take pitches and work the count -> Swinging at anything you can get your bat on.
Pitching philosophies: Be agressive in the zone -> never ever give in.
Base Running philosophies: Always look to go another 90 feet -> don't risk the outs
etc. etc.
Maybe some of these things are already built in to teams logic, but it would ne nice to play a team like the Angels, who are notoriously aggressive on the bases to a team like Oakland, who takes very few chances and really notice a difference between the two.
Pitching and Hitting tendancies wouldn't override a certain players ability and tendancies, but maybe could shape the players in your farm system.

This would be great since teams like the Angels are very aggressive on the base paths, or the Red Sox who are very patient at the plate, or the Rays who sacrifice a lot and Joe Maddon relies on lefty righty matchups for his lineup.
GREAT IDEA. You are one of the most thoughtful people ever. You should work for 2k.

There are way too many replies for me to read through; and I don't know if the scouting has been touched on yet so I will. I don't find the IE scouting feature appealing at all. I just don't see it as being realistic. Although, I guess I don't have actual insight into what MLB teams do as far as scouting other teams and players; but I would imagine they don't purchase scouting reports the way it is set up in the MLB 2k games. I would imagine that teams purchase contracts with scouting firms or even have/hire their own group. I could see them prioritizing certain opponents and players but not having to pay a certain amount of cash just to get reports on teams or players. Besides, should I really have to purchase scouting reports on my own team to see my players' strengths or weaknesses? It just doesn't make sense to me.

Did you say "last years game"??? It was released just a few weeks ago, it is THIS YEARS GAME!! Come on kcviv, you know this is friggin' bogus. I can understand wanting to build datat for making 2k10, but for 2ksports to want this NOW...when they haven't given us a word on a patch for 2k9...this is annoying.
But to keep it on topic...I thnk 2k10 should avoid almost all updates to the graphics, because right now (on PC at least) it looks far better than MLB09 the Show, and I've played both extensively. Gameplay as well is pretty solid, apart from needing a slider for 'baserunner speed'. I mean, among the problems this game has, graphics and most gameplay issues aren't on the top of the list (safe for the few glitches that have been mentioned).
It is absolutely crucial they make a stable franchise...that is the #1 reason people are defecting to MLB09 this year - and if they would just patch this years game they could stop the drain. The 'player of the week', 'rooking of the month', and hitting streak info - and other little details like that of 2k9 are great ways to add to the depth of the franchise mode, so those really should be kept. Maybe extending this by including updates of other games (not necessarily replays, but pop-up statistics and scores) would be great - especially if the commentators would periodically make reference to the other games.
So my point is this: with such amazing strides already made in the graphics and gameplay department, 2k10 would blow people away if they further nailed the franchise mode down.

Career Mode that allows player to buy new cleats, gloves, bats, gear, etc.... The better he gets the more stuff he will be able to get..ie : First couple of weeks in rookie ball starts off using a rawlings bat/glove...then as he gets better and does better and receives pay....gets to buy a better glove(Wilson a2k), bat (Wilson sambat) cleats (Nike nike huaraches) Make something like that unique to that of MLB 09 The Show's version of a career mode. Also make better home run animations...Bring back Duane Kuiper and Mike Krukow as announcers! "Grab some pine meat!!"

I would first like my 60$ back for the faulty 2k9 (thank god gamestop has a good return policy on used games) so I can put the money towards a PS3 and buy MLB The Show 09. Second I would like the freezing to be fixed and for you guys to stop screwing around with 2k10. You guys shouldn't even be talking about 2k10 till you guys fix your faulty game. The way you guys shoot out bad under developed games, your asking for a class action. If you guys can't fix the current freezing you should add a feature that allows you to have the game auto-save in between innings so I don't have to restart from the 1st inning when I got to the 9th. I know that TEMPORARY fix will only work for certain kind of freezing.

You know I was thinking about it and I know you can't sue them if you don't like franchise mode, but if franchise mode is broken completely and feezes on you couldn't you sue for that? I mean, if you put out a car and a major component of the car, say the brakes or steering wheel doesn't work, people would sue. So maybe somebody should look that up, maybe action can be taken. We're not talking about people being angry with franchise because it doesn't live up to their standards, but we're talking about people being angry with franchise because of the fact that it literally doesn't work.

It would be nice to see:
1) ability to create teams, logos and stadiums
2) more retro baseball: meaning additional old time uniform choices, stadiums (Ebbets Field, Tiger Stadium, a classic astro turf field or two, retro Yankee, etc.). More of the HOF players such as Mantle, Ruth, Robinson, etc. etc. with their signature styles.
3) Baseball is a game rich in history, the ability to create some of its great teams of the past (if not included) could be accomplished if the game is modder friendly.
Thank You for putting the game on pc as well!

Please make it so that only one starting pitcher can be used during a game. Unless all relievers are used and it is extra innings there should be no reason to use multiple starters in one regulation 9 inning game. The only exception should be online leagues where there is a one game playoff or a similar situation.

I just have one suggestion:
Whenever theres a close fly ball hit to the outfield, theres really no way to visibly see when your guy has tagged onto the base. Sometimes, and this has happened to me more and more lately, I think I tagged on the base and run to the next only to be outed because I didnt tag. If there was some visual representation on the field diamond in the bottom right which showed me that my guy had tagged Im sure this would never happen again. Its really a judgment call if I can make it or not, and if that feature was in the game I would just be able to guess better. Thanks.

Maybe have the baserunner indicator change colors when the players are on base so people know if the players are on the base or not.

Yeah thats what I was thinking. Maybe have it so instead of having it yellow with a yellow line around it (which I hope will be upgraded in the next game), let the yellow fade to white with gray lining when someones on base. This way when someone tags up you will see it change to white, then at that moment you can belt off.

The graphics took a HUGE leap from 2k8, but there still not that good. I would like some better lighting, textures, the grass still looks a little cartoony, the grass from Tiger Woods is great, something like that would be nice. Please, please, get rid of that Pig Pen dirt cloud that follows the players, it looks just awful.
I think with better textures, and lighting this game will look astonishing. Of course this goes with the lighting, some shadows wouldn't hurt.

I'm not sure if this should go here, but I think it would be really cool to add a new feature, something like a practice mode for your players. This mode would/could be included in the franchise mode and you could go through drills with your players to improve their abilities. Obviously, there would need to be a set potential for each player otherwise every player would eventually reach a rating of 100. This would really help improve the abilities of rookies, and this could assist in the conflict of having living rosters applied to franchise mode. 2k could provide updates that raise the potential of players that are playing better during the season and this would allow these players to change without living rosters. There could also be a practice mode to improve the abilities of pitchers or develop new pitches.
Overall, I really just want players to be able to improve their abilities throughout the season.

Seriously, you're worrying about what to do about MLB2k10? Here's an idea...why don't you fix this ridiculous piece of garbage called 2k9? Oh yeah, that's right you've already got the $ from us, and it's on to the next title.
Between this and MLB General Manager, these are the worst two games I've played since ET on my Atari.

I wouldn't go that far, at least this game is playable compared to 2K8, which is one of, if not the, worst Baseball game ever made. Yeah, General Manager was really, really, bad. Hey ET on the Atari was fun.

I have a great idea. Im focused on 2k10 because I realize what reality is... this game is this game, and for 2k10 to improve to its potential they need to focus on just that... 2k10. However, on the other hand I would also like this game to be improved. Heres the problem we have though, I agree with them that all focus should on go 2k10, but I agree with you that 2k9 could be better. So heres my solution. You make the patch for 2k9 while they focus on 2k10. Obviously since your tossing out your opinion of how the game should be you have coding skills, a developing team, and are being payed to make games (because if you didnt then you wouldnt understand what it takes to make a game, and if thats the case then your opinion shouldnt be so aggressive). I think we should do that. GET ON IT.

I would like to see a Career Mode, something like the show has.
You Create your player, your given so many points to distribute over contact, power, fielding, etc.. and you begin your career at Spring Training and trying to make it to the majors, otherwise you play for the minors until called up and you get rewarded points for hits, runs, etc to improve your rating over the time.
I always enjoyed the Career mode and I really think it will be a big hit for the game

How about a decent world series celebration? Showing us two players give each other a high five for a split second and then showing us views of a stagnant, still crowd the rest of the time doesn't cut it.
How about the infield fly rule? Could you guys remember to put that in 2k10?
Career mode would be pretty cool, but I'd rather have a functioning franchise mode.

*Menus - MLB went with the NBA menu system. I personally preferred a style more like 2k8. In 2k9 everything just overlaps. Some times the quick nav can be nice but most of the time I find it annoying.
*2k beats - loved how in 2k8 I could set a playlist to load up at the menu screen. The player would even give me artist name and song title in the bottom of the screen. Would love to see that return for 2k10.
*Better crowds - I honestly don't care what they look like but I want to know they're there. Make
them louder in big situations.. make them quiet when the home team is getting blown out. Make
them roar when the home team gets a big double play, strike out, amazing catch, hits a homerun, gets
the go ahead or tying run late in the game. Make them a notch louder for playoff games.
*Homerun Distance - When hitting a HR in a game, it'd be nice to know how far it went.
*Chalk Lines - Make them disappear as the game progresses.
*Lighting - Improve the lighting in the game. It'd be cool to have the shadows in front of home plate come into play for afternoon games.
*Hit distribution - it improved from 2k8 to 2k9, but it can improve even more. I'd like to see hits that slice or hook, or even frozen ropes down the line that pick up some chalk. I'm not sure if this could go under hitting but I'm going to put it here.
*Practice Mode- make it a little more specific so you can work on certain things.
-Hitting - choose what the pitcher throws. Be able to select curveballs and practice hitting them and recognizing the pitch. Stuff like that.
-Fielding - Be able to choose certain types of hits that you want to field (slow hit grounder, fly ball off outfield wall - throws to 2nd). Allow for runners to be on base so that you can practice double plays, hitting the cut off, play the sac bunt correctly, and anything else that might happen throughout the course of a game (how about PFP?). I think it would be cool to practice robbing homeruns. That way you can get your timing down for when you have to climb the wall.
Baserunning - practice getting good jumps for steals. practice trying to score from 1st on a double, or just going from 1st to 3rd on a single to right. This feature would most likely be used for base stealing, but to have a lot of options to choose from would be cool.
-Pitching - Pretty straight forward here.

Can u guys please make a road to the show mode like in mlb 09 the show. After playing the franchise mode it quickly gets boring, and thats the only major feature 2k9 has.So, I had to go back to my ps2 to play MLB 07 the show to play the road to the show mode. eventhough the graphics are terrible i had more fun than mlb 2k9. If MLB 2k9 had a road to the show mode it would make it so much better.

Well, there is a thread that says about historic teams, but I thought an alternative suggestion would be to add the Greatest Teams of All Time meaning the greatest players to ever play for each team would all be on one time. The MLB Network showed what the greatest all time teams would be during Spring Training in their 30 Clubs in 30 Days show.
I think this would be a lot easier than doing historic teams, just having usually a lot of great historic players that people would want to see on these teams is basically the same reason for why people are asking for certain historic teams.

Oh, this one just hit me.. and it's probably already been said but I'll say it anyway.
A detailed instruction booklet..
Maybe those casual gamers couldn't get a handle on 2k8's "advanced" controls because the booklet didn't give any information and the information it did give was wrong (which lead to our "dumbed" down controls in 2k9). At least put out an online instruction booklet (PDF) like NBA 2k9 had. I believe it just went more into detail about certain aspects of the game.. regardless, I used it.
Another thing I noticed recently (can't believe it took me this long)..
The player models need some tweaking..
Obviously their faces could always get a little tweaked in terms of their facial features, facial hair, or even the hair on their heads... but more than anything the sizes of the players needs to be tweaked.
- Example: I hit a HR with Youkilis. Big Papi, and Pedroia were on base at the time. When Youk' got to the plate and high-fived Papi and Pedroia, I realized that Pedroia was the same height as Kevin Youkilis, and David Ortiz. He was just about the same size all around actually. If I do it again somewhat soon I'll post a picture. If not, check it out for yourself, it's kind of weird.

another suggestion I thought of yesterday:
in Batting Practice Mode an option to turn on fielders would be great. I mean I got tons of hits, but how do I know whether they would really have been a hit?! And therefore a detailed analysis of past swings and pitches (also in-game) would be nice. Because I swing at almost everything since most of the balls are called strikes which annoys me a bit...

I don't like how my defense is still controlled by the AI to some degree.
It is very difficult to change my approach to the ball because the AI is overriding my decision. By the time it does let me, it is usually too late and the ball either goes by or is dropping in for a hit.
When the comp. sets up my infield defense, i cannot change it. If there is a runner on first with the pitcher up and less than two outs, 100 of 100 times the AI will have the pitcher bunt. I know that and i want my infield in the bunt defense not the double play. The AI will not let me change it.
I should be able to do what i want with my defense when i want to do it without interference from the AI.

Here are some Major flaws from 2k9 that MUST be improved upon IMO:
#1 thing I found this year was how insanely difficult stealing bases is. It nearly impossible to steal even with the fastest guys in the game. I know I am not the only one who is having this problem. The only way I can ever steal is if the throw is off-line. I don't know why this is... but it angers me to no end.
#2 Also, OFten when I scan my AAA team I see starting pitchers with 65 overall rating have ERA's over 8.00 with 25k and 35 walks, and a WHIP of over 2.00. BUT my guy with a 51 overall rating (and less than 30 control rating) has a nice 2.30 ERA with 67K's and 15 BB's with a WHIP just over 1.2!
HOW!? Does this mean that I cannot determine where a developing player belongs based on his overall rating? Even when I try experiments like sending a 85 rated MLB pitcher down he has an ERA over 4.5! Basically what I am saying is that there really is no POINT to having a rating if I cannot use it to judge how a player will do hypothetically.
#3 When i start a game and I Am looking at the lineup I would like to be able to see the stats of my different players. IF I have a guy with 70% stam and I am deciding if I can use my 2nd string infielder to replace him I would like to be able to compare their fielding and hitting abilities. I could not do this on 2k9.

Exactly! I think I posted something about this in the fielding/throwing feedback. I hate not having the freedom to field the ball how I want, or position my players in the field however I want. I should be the one choosing how aggressive or conservative I want to play, not the AI. I especially hate it when I'm fielding fly balls and I have my fielder take a route to the ball that I don't want to take. The ball will end up going over his head as he came in to shallow, and the ball rolls all the way to the wall. The flip side of this one is where the fielder runs too deep (past the circle) and tries to bend over to make a no-look catch. For some reason the game thinks that it's a highlight-reel play and usually shows a replay of the catch. I'm usually just sitting there watching and thinking, "Man, that should have just been a routine out if the game actually allowed me to take my own route to the ball."
With that said, in addition to having more freedom in the field in 2K10, I'd also like to have the right trigger (R2 for PS3) be a sprint/run trigger. You wouldn't need it for routine plays, mainly just for chasing a fly ball down, or getting to a ball hit in the gap that rolls to the wall (to try and keep the runner from stretching it to a triple). As it stands right now, 2k9 has 3 different speeds: Normal running speed, slow motion "running," and the glitchy jog where the fielder is running after the ball but won't speed up (it's not in slow motion, it's just jogging and having no urgency to get to the ball - I found that switching my fielder gets them running after the ball at a faster pace).
As far as Defensive Positioning goes.. if in 2k10 the AI is still controlling some of the positioning, then make it so it's actually intelligent. That means defensive shifts for heavy pull hitters, 3rd basemen playing speedy runners for the bunt (or even playing the hitter in close for bunt situations), guarding the lines late in the game to prevent doubles, or even telling your first basemen to not hold the runner on at first base. Honestly, it should be the user making those calls (which you can to some extent), but if the AI does override a lot, at least make the AI somewhat intelligent. The CPU never does any of the mentioned shifts against me = poor AI. I'd love to just be able to highlight one of my players in the field and tell him exactly where to stand. Hell, there's some late inning strategies where a manager will bring in an outfielder to the infield and just leave two fielders in the outfield to prevent a ground ball from getting through. You definitely can't do that in 2K9 (or even the Show for that matter).

I agree with both and everything Greg7 said as well.
Nothing worse than having a fly ball 10 feet in front of your outfielder and having him run to the ball like he is in quicksand and having what should be a routine fly ball turn into a single.
As Greg said, there needs to a be a "haul-*****" sprint for the ball button. Most fly balls are a short jog and a wait, but occasionally there are ones where you need every inch of effort to make a play on and in these times, your guys jogging.
With that in mind, there needs to be some sort of strafe button for fielders like there is for defensive players in football games; a button where you can quickly make a controlled stop and face the ball.
As far as the defensive positioning, I belive you have to make your adjustment prior to the first pitch, after that you are locked in. This is bad logic. As the count changes, situations change and a new shift may be needed. (Example, a bunt defense likely won't be needed with 2 strikes).

2nd..Is the hitting and pitching..NO pitching courser or stuff in the way! I modded this problem and now i have none of this crap on the screen anymore...So it feels more realistic.

be able to see the pitches that you have throwin to that batter in that ab and the other ones. And also when your batting to see if the pitcher is favoring one thing more than another that game. Your outta game player view thing has ALOT of great info. Could you be able to use all of them screens during the game play? And could you also see what % of pitches you have throwin during the game like you can the computer? Franchise relocating maybe??? Or be able to build your team a new stadium in year 1,2,3 or whatever of your franchise. Being able to create players in your already started franchise. And yes FULL EDITING OF ALL PLAYERS PLEASE. I use to love the MVP baseball games and I think you guys should use some of those ideas in your game also. Make home field more of an advantage would be another one. Like down the strech run and in playoff games.

I was just watching some of the replays that I had uploaded and picked up on something miscellaneous that should be mentioned. It's not a big deal, but could be an idea for some pretty cool animations. The replay had a collision at home plate and upon first contact between the runner and the catcher, the umpire had already gone into calling the runner out. Usually what should happen is the umpire would need to have the catcher show him the ball to see that he held onto the ball throughout the collision. If he did, then it's an out. If the catcher cannot present the ball from his glove then the runner is most likely safe as he jarred the ball loose during the collision.
I think an interaction of catcher and umpire, or even the runner and umpire would be pretty cool. Even on steal attempts to have a fielder try and steal a call on a close play would be pretty cool. I see stuff like that in just about every baseball game I watch (not the collisions, but the attempt to steal the call).
Umpire animations need to be improved regardless. Most of them wear black shirts as well. I was really surprised to see them wearing blue shirts when I played the demo earlier in March. Anyway, this one isn't a biggie for me, it just adds to the whole experience of playing the game. There's other things that need to be focused on before this, but if there was a chance to add some better animations for umpires, I think this would be a good suggestion.
(side note: You would need to add the ability break the animation of the umpire and player interaction, though.)
For example: runners on first and third. Runner on first tries to steal second. It's a close play and the game goes into the animation of the player trying to steal the call. Meanwhile, while the animation is going on, the runner on third breaks for home and scores easily because the animation had to finish before the middle infielder could throw the ball to home.
------
Another example: runner on second with less than 2 outs, and there's a base hit to left field. The runner rounds 3rd and heads for home. The fielder comes up throwing to home and it's on the money. The catcher blocks the plate and there's a collision at home. If the catcher held onto the ball and the runner who got the base hit starts heading to 2nd, then you'd need to try and throw him out. So you wouldn't want the catcher to be showing the ball to the ump while the guy on first heads for second. You'd want to just throw the ball to second and upon doing so, the umpire would clearly know that you held onto the ball the entire time.)
It would just add to the realism of the game to see a little more player and umpire interaction.

Look at The Show. Maybe try and take it apart or w/e you call it. I can't really think of the word right now. I'm too busy playing 06 The Show. It has very fundamental gameplay and has very fluid mechanics. It's wierd how they have been able to keep very realistic statistics (Except for stolen bases and errors), even in sim seasons since at least 06, and yet 2k is yet to be able to do that.

make special options for bats and wistbands wen you creat a player for mothers day and fathers day in game modes with a season in them
and make a career like mode simlar to the road to the show in mlb the show series
and make a "real" create a team where u can creat uniform and stadium (like in that collage baseball game EA Sports made in 06)
and make it so you have all the options when you creat a player like it was in 2K8 and make it so you can edit how a created player stands in the batters box and throws the ball when they pitch
and make the stars and stripes uniforms (both would be cool)

It would be nice if when you changed the pitch speed in a one player game, it only changed the AI pitchers pitch speed. I see no reason why the pitch speed of the user to the AI batter would ever need to change.
It just seems off that if you need a slower pitch speed to get used to the new hitting mechanic or because you use zone, your pitcher in turn also throws slower, when it has nothing to do with the reason for slowing it down.
The user pitch speed in a one player game should always be at or near realistic speeds.

Add a Be A Pro mode where you start out on a minor league team, work yoir way up to the bigs, break records, and make it into the Hall of Fame in Cooperstown. It would be awesome for baseball and your game would be all that I would play.

I would like to see "rust" brought into the game, especially from the bullpen guys. As a former collegiate pitcher I know how hard it is to go perform when you haven't seen the field in a week or more. In my franchise now I have 2 relievers that haven't pitched in about 3 weeks. Their name should fade from white to red or something so show they need an appearance or their attributes will start taking hits.

You need to be able to view the other teams lineup in the game so you know what they had available. I liked how in MLB2K8 you could hit LB and it would bring up the lineup card.

Add an S along with the R/L for a pitchers throwing arm!
Make a fake player for the Yankee switch pitcher Pat Venditte, who is currently dominating with the Charleston River Dogs, the Yankees Low-A farm team.
He is now in Tampa. Maybe they could do it just for him (or a fake version of him).

Several things I would like to see visually.
Literally a thousand new animations need to be done next year to bring this game up to speed in order to compete with rival games. It seems to me that the animations are individually performed thus looking jerky and less fluid. If yall can blend the animations together along with the several new animations that might be the solution. Here is where they need ot be implemented:
1. In Field Fielding (Tags, scoops, flips, turning two, dives, short hops, bobbles, slide stops, jumping snare catches, foul ball in the stand catches, and throwing animations)
2. Out field fielding (catches, dives, paths OF take to the ball, appraoches ot the ball, wall scaling, crashing into walls, and catch and throw aniamtions)
3. Hitting (Early swings, late swings, follow through swings-(http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_sz-0An2PYc) , and homerun swings
Stadium animations and excitement need to be implented as well. Hitting clutch game winning hits or even homeruns feel bring and unrewarding. There should be fireworks, stadium specific sounds and animations, players in the dugout getting excited, crowds getting crazy. I would love to see mascots in the game. There used to be in the old games abck on reg xbox. whatever the case currently the game is not fun because there is absolutley NO EXCITMENT in areas where there should be.
http://texas.rangers.mlb.com/media/v...ent_id=3104033 (broadcast Perspective)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aooOF...eature=related (fan perspective)
The pains and joys are never really felt watching the players. Have them get excited. In know the cutsces of the dugouts looks stale all the time becasue its like there really isnt a feel if watching a real dugout. They are all doing the same thing at the same time whether it be lame clapping or raising there hands for no reason. Have a cutscene or something but man alive dont show the dugout looking lame like that.
I would like to see weather play more of a role in the game. Rain and snow flurries are a realistic part of the game that is missing in last years game.
Presentation should be be more on point as well. I would prefer next year to be more sim baseball based then the arcadey feel. I dont want the on screen informations on swing timing and all that jazz. Stat tracking needs ot eb more in depth. I dont really care so much as to what a players nickname is as much as I care about what aplayer is doing this year versus last year and the game he is currently playing. Tracking players stats is awesome and updating stat leaders is a must.
The franchise screen needs to be easier to navigate and more pleasing to the eye than the cluttered screen of MLB.com that it is now. I really like maddens new franchise screen. Here is a pic of it:
http://insideblog.easports.com/cfs-f...anchiseHub.jpg
The fielding cameras are too high for my enjoyment. The camrea needs to be zoomed in a little, and flattened out a little to see more action. I would also love to see fans walking around in the background.
These are some good visual things that this game needs. Most improtantly are the animations of course but imagine a 2k game that implemented all the above.
Two liitle nuances that I want to see is wide forearm wristbands and numbers back on the wristbands and forearms bands.

I think I have found the reason for unrealistic franchises: Inside Edge
See, in a normal game, a guy like Adam Dunn would strikeout swinging on a fastball up and out of the strike zone. BUT IE tells the game that Adam Dunn hits .450 against fastballs late in the count.
So instead of him striking out (which he would) IE has him swing and hit the ball.
2k should try experimenting by taking IE out of the game to see if it works realistically

This has happened to me twice...both times when I get to the All-Star Break of my first season. I had to erase my franchise file and start over, only to have it happen again. I may have to erase my second franchise file and start over once more.
For the life of me, I do not understand why 2K did not keep both the presentation elements and the franchise elements of 2k7, adding only the ability to manage and/or play the minor leagues. 2K could go a long way to making the perfect game by integrating the presentation and franchise elements of 2k7 with the pitching, baserunning and SwingStick 2.0 elements of 2k9. Bam...there's your baseball game.

I agree with everyone who said the menu needs to be changed. By the way, I don't know if this like this on Xbox and PS, but on pc, at some screens the start button is like the "proceed" button, but at other screens the start button is the "menu" button. At the former screen, button 9 is for opening the menu, but at the latter, it functions as the back button. THIS IS REALLY CONFUSING!
Also, I have a Logitech controller, which I thought would have been standard, but the game acts like some other controller is, and the buttons are all turned around and it's confusing. It would be nice if this game said on the case what controller it recommended or it used as its standard, like MVP 04 did. On the back of its CD case, it showed a Logitech controller.

It seems like it's impossible to burn an outfielder on a ball hit over their head, and fly balls to the gap seem to stay up in the air for what seems to be forever. I'm not sure what the reason for this is, but it could be a number of things.
Off the top of my head.. it could be
1) Lack of hit distribution. It seems like fly balls in the gap are always caught. There doesn't seem to be much variation in the fly balls. They all seem to be hit with similar height and speed. There's no hard liners into the gap (well there is, but it seems that the fly balls are all way too similar - everyone of them hangs up for a little too long).
2) Stadium/field size. The stadiums may be a little too small. It would explain why most ground balls don't get through the infield unless they're hit directly up the middle, and all the ridiculous "web gems" that the infielders make. Fielders seem to cover a lot of ground, yet they don't seem to run very fast (unless you put the slider on an unfair setting), and often my fielder goes into slow motion animation to make the catch, so it would seem that the field would need to be larger. Hits to the gap that do get down hardly ever roll to the wall and are usually cut off by an outfielder. I find that most doubles that I get are hit off the wall; never are they a hard hit line drive to the gap (kind of a combination of the lack of hit distribution and the size of the field). I don't really get the feeling that the stadiums are quite as "grand" as they need to be.
3. Defensive positioning. Fielders may be positioned too far back already. In reality, a catch is much harder to make when it's hit over your head, as opposed to it being hit in front of you. In 2k9, fielders have no problem making a play on a ball hit over their head, and struggle to make a play on a ball hit in front of them, as they go into slow motion on a ball hit 5 feet in front of them. So, the fact that the fielders are already positioned deep seems a bit weird. I hit a ball down the line towards Pesky's Pole the other day and it was scorched, but it held up long enough for fielder to make the catch in the right field corner.. I can't remember who I hit it with but I know it was a righty and he didn't have a ton of power.. I think it was Loweri hitting from the right side. Anyway, point is, where I hit it, it shouldn't have been easily caught, and possibly should have gone for at least a double.
Conclusion - I'm not sure which of these is the main cause but it could possibly be a combination of all three. I definitely get the feeling that the stadiums/fields are bit on the small side and hit distribution could always improve (I'd like to see frozen ropes to the gaps, hard hit balls that burn outfielders over their head, balls that hook or slice, bad hops in the infield, etc).

In some games ive seen things like create a chant where you can say something into your headset and have the game play that back. thatd be sweet
The jerseys blowing in the wind was one of the things that seperated this from the show. and i think that should be brought back.
Also a career mode would be great.

I'd love to see a fully editable team creation system. Mainly so a modder could create classic seasons if he/she wished to, with perhaps a place in your website for user created content. I play OOTP 9 which is a text based sim that has EVERY player that's ever played major league baseball, all the way back to 1876 or so. Something like this where we could have online leagues that would allow us to play old timer leagues would be great!
I also would love to see a more detailed user manual as this years absolutely was useless. I still haven't figured out how to play the game online, or how to properly change the controls to the "classic" mode. I'm fine with the new pitching system, as I've gotten the hang of it, but I simply don't have the coordination (hate to admit that..lol) that I did as a younger man....such is the "aging" effect of real life!

I'd also like to see online play for the PC as well as the live roster abilities. Fact is, if 2K10 doesn't have these, I won't be buying next years version and will try someone elses. I'm sorely disappointed in the overall quality of the 2K9 for the PC folks. It's a pretty game, but the interface is flawed, the documentation is pathetic, and the fact that there is no online play kills the replay value of the game entirely.

a few big problems i have with the game is the player creation. there are a ton of options for appearance of accessories, which is great, but not so much in terms of things like hairstyles and facial hair.
one thing i could think of would be to at least allow to have the same hairstyles as the real players in the game. this would offer a lot more options without really having to add much, since the styles are already there. same with the facial hair.
another option would be to add sliders for hair length, along with a lot of different base styles. same goes for the facial hair.
also, a nice option would be to offer complete color control over hair and accessories, much like fight night does with their boxing gloves and trunks.
one other suggestion, which is not a huge deal, would be to change the interface of the sliders to be closer to the way the show has it. it makes it easier to change the players appearance. and please, please, make it so that the player doesnt turn their head every 2 seconds so i can actually see what im changing. its almost impossible to make someone the way i want to because i cant see how the sliders are changing the face.
the last major thing, and this is probably the biggest, is to offer different styles to the created players. for example, allow the created player to have the same batting stances or pitching windups of the players already in the game. or better yet, to create our own custom stances, swings, walkups, and windups, sort of like the tiger woods golf series does.

a few things i think could make the total control better...
for hitting, instead of pulling back then going forward, make the motion a half-circle. basically, pull back like normal, but instead of going straight forward, have the bat be completely controlled by the right stick, making it easier to do a check swing if you realize that the pitch is out of the zone after you start the motion. this will also make appeals more realistic. for left handed batters, the half-circle would be toward the left hand, and for right handed batters, toward the right.
for pitching, i would also say to simply have an option to step off the mound. for example, if there is a runner on 1st who might steal, be able to come off the mound without throwing over. this action could also help with composure slightly, if the pitcher is getting shaken up.

a few ways that the presentation of the game could be improved, to make it seem more like watching a tv broadcast...
when someone hits a no-doubter homerun, or rather one that isnt able to be robbed, switch the camera view to the ball rather than to the typical fielder view, as they wont really have much to do with the play at that point. also, after the homerun, show the pitcher's reactions. if its late in a close game or he just gave up the lead, make him react as such.
as far as the replay editor...
allow the camera to be completely freeroaming. let us go up into the stands, rather than stopping at the wall. also, make the camera movement using the 2 joysticks, left for actual movement, and right for rotation. another nice option would be to have a tripod-like camera option, along with the normal camera. basically allow the camera to follow one player automatically, but without moving the base of the camera, just the view. or better yet, offer a keyframe system. let us set the camera where we want, then move to a different point in the replay, and set the camera to another position. then, when we replay the video, the camera moves from point A to point B automatically (or more if we choose more keyframes). a good example of this is in Skate 2. also, have the option of hiding the blue position indicator. one other nice feature would be to be able to save replays directly to the HDD as media files, much like in mlb 09 the show, rather than only saving the raw replay file to edit in the 2k reelmaker. and finally, have the replays in the editor be longer. what would be nice would be to have the entire at bat per replay if possible, but at least until the play is completely over. for example, on a homerun, rather than stop the replay after the ball lands, have it go until the runner is back in the dugout, so that you can also edit team reactions and celebrations, along with the trot around the bases.

another nice feature would be to step off the mound in mid-pitch. say, for example, that there is a runner on first and you have a left-handed pitcher. rather than have to be checking on the runner to make the throw over, have it so that you can make the throw after you go into the pitching motion. it would also help to implement a balk system with this, so you have to decide whether to step off/throw over before you go too far. this would mainly help in player vs player games, but also against the cpu, just deciding when to steal if you are going to.
i would also like to see some sort of career/story mode as opposed to just the franchise mode. basically where you create a player (as well as their batting stance and pitching windup, if they are a pitcher) and have to go through the training and attempt to get signed to a team in the minors, then work your way up to the mlb. story modes always make sports games fun if theyre well written. it would definitely add a lot of depth to the game. and with this, you would only control your player, but also would watch the rest of the game through your player's perspective. like when your team is up at bat, and youre not up or on base, you get a view from the dugout, that can be adjusted (ie left or right, up or down, a first person POV) and you can walk around the dugout to change the view a little bit. same thing when you are in the on-deck circle. when in the field, you can either skip to a play that you're involved in, or watch the game unfold one pitch at a time, from your position. just a few ideas to play around with...

1.) just player movements in general. for instance, if you use the quick throw feature when youre turning a double play, sometimes the guy just rips the ball over to first totally flatfooted with barely any arm motion. that should be more realistic. or when you steal a base and the man covering 2nd instantly gets the ball and puts the tag down right away.
2.) home run trots look really weird. for instance, someone like ryan howard who you have just staring at the ball and walking and then jogging around the bases, but in the game after looking at the ball he just starts sprinting. also i dont think the guy should have the home run trot with a ball that makes it a foot over the fence. this usually causes what i stated before with howard.
3.) i notice that right handed hitters helmets switch to left handed hitter helmets most of the time when they run the bases. it just looks funny on right handed guys.
4.) we should be able to edit players more. like their batting stances and their pitches.
5.) create a team feature. create your own name, jersey, have logos to pick from, ballpark, and be able to pick from everyone not just the cards you unlock. also be able to take this team into franchise mode and put then in place of another team, kindof like in madden football.
6.) the guys that arent so well known and they dont have all the features to their look like more known players do all look the same. for instance, on my team right now i have dewayne wise and emilion bonifacio. they have the same exact head and skin tone. thats gotta change.
7.) the base stealing. if your timing is a tiny bit off, your either picked off or youre wasting time by pressing lt and quickly pressing rt to get back to the bag or getting in a rundown until you successfully steal or get picked off.
8.) diving and jumping. sometimes i go to dive forward and instead the player slides and he misses it and then it hits off of him so the guy gets an extra base. and also wall climbing sometimes works sometimes doesnt.
it would be nice to see these changes made for mlb 2k10 because i love 2k9, but some things just make me so mad and id like to see these features put in for a better gaming experience.

i love day games. i love being the phillies and wearing their alternates. i also like to see the guys in shades. but how come if i play a 4:05 game it gets pitch dark by like the 5th or 6th inning? it even gets dark when i play 1:05 games by the 7th or 8th. the players end up wearing glasses in the dark. why do 4 hours go by in 4 or 5 innings when id be playing for 20 minutes? thats gotta change
also around the horn. when they whip it around and the camera switches whoever has the ball instantly throws it back to the pitcher. it shoudl go all the way around. and like when an infielder catches a pop up with no runners on and calmly throws it to a teammate automatically, it should be the same with the outfielders.

I know you guys think that you made a game with a great baseball atmosphere because people move when a ball is hit into the stands but that isn't much of an effort. Can we have some drama please? some actual screaming from the crowd (not the kind that is in past 2k baseball games that sounds like there are 5 people in the stands). We want actual cutscenes and celebrations (not the current kind where it is like a split-second(literally) scene of celebration and just showing players shaking hands (the same animation from like 4 years ago by the way--yes we notice those things). We want players hitting walk-offs and having the team jump up and down on the plate afterwards. I know showing a pie in the face in after the walk-off is asking too much from 2k but can we have some emotion? I remember getting a big homerun in yankee stadium in MVP baseball and the crowd roaring so loud (along with standing up the moment the ball is hit recognizing a potential homerun) that it gave me chills and made my hair stand up. The feeling of emotion and accomplishment has always been missing from 2k baseball games and I hope you guys change that in 2k10.

Not some error filled garbage that looks like it was made in some nerd's basement. You guys better step up in 2010 because you are starting to lose a lot of customers. I think you need to go back and take a look at MVP 05 Baseball and copy it, just as EA had copied 2K5 Football in a lot of ways. You have the license use it wiser. What can they do? Nothing, just like you can't do a thing about EA stealing your presentation ideas, down to the people tailgating in the beginning of the game. Keep it simple, use the same pitching mechanic MVP 05 uses (with a slight tweak to your liking). Use the same batting mechanics and fielding mechanics they used ( with a slight tweak to your liking). Basically if you copy MVP 05 and use the graphics engine to THE BIGS, you should be set for a game that gets in the 8 rating range instead of these 4 to 6.5 you got this year.

you know, this getting feedback on how to make 2k10 a better game is a great idea!
i was just reading through some of these and i must say, some of these people have some great ideas on how to make 2k10 a better game. keep it up
BUT come on people do you really think 2k is going to listen...REALLY!
Lets see they have made 4 games so far 2k6-2k9 and the avg score for these games are a 6.4
AND after EVERY game all the fans have put their ideas out there on message boards on how to make the next year better but did 2k listen...um yeah NO
people this is a wasted effort, to me this is just some ploy to get all your ideas out there so when 2k10 comes out... there slogan can be on the lines of "YOUR IDEAS, YOUR GAME, 2k10 THE REAL BASEBALL EXPERIENCE...blah blah blah" and every one is going to get hyped up and go out and buy the game and guess what! 2k will be laughing all the way to the bank!
then you all are going to actually play 2k10 and be like...WHAT THE HELL...AGAIN!!! THEY DID IT TO ME AGAIN!!! WHY IS MY GUY FLYING AS HE ROUNDS THE BASES...WHY DOES AROD HAVE 100 HR AT THE END OF ONE SEASON, WHY DID THE BALL GO THROUGH THE OUTFIELD WALL FOR A HR INSTEAD OF OVER IT..you get the point
then finally we will have 2ksports formus>major league baseball>MLB2k11Feedback>how can we make this game better...and the cycle will start ALL over again. OR MAYBE they will just come out with an iphone app so can people can stream their ideas...cool. (but really if a developer can look at the product and think themselves hmmm how can we make a buggy game better hmmmmmmm hmmm hey joe how can be make this buggy game better... joe: heck if i know man" and not know how to fix the problems WE ARE in trouble)
Yes i am complaining
NO im not going to put my ideas on how to make 2k10 better, there's plenty of good ideas already on this thread to make it better.
AM i expecting some lame "stop complaining.you suck blah blah blah" response YES
Do i care..NO
People just be aware that even if they take a fraction of these ideas and make 2k10... a 5.5 ( about the avg score of last years game) IS NOT going to change into a 9.0 or not even a 7.5) if they get somewhat better we are looking at a 6.0
the idea was to build each year on the original product...um like what the show did each year...it just seems like 2k just keeps starting over each year
ok im done...i wont post anymore, when 2k10 comes out and it sucks i'll just come back and say told ya so.
and the negative responses staaaaaaart NOW

I actually liked this year's graphics but I do think that adding a mode comparable to The Show's road to the show mode and I really liked owner mode from MVP 2005. I also would like to see animations in the stadiums because hitting a home run in queens is just not the same without seeing the home run apple. Also small details in the stadiums would also be nice, like the tarp over the home bullpen at citifield. Also perhaps coaching staff interactions like in the show. Thanks!!

Hey Ron I really like the hit stick and pitching with the sticks, it saves buttons. But the stealing controls blow, need to be fixed. also wind affects need to be in the game to affect catching and hitting. For example if the wind is blowing out at 20 miles per hour at wrigley, the hitters power rating should go up and vise versa for blowing in. Also all fielders should not run at the same speed. Also the throwing meter needs to be more difficult. Alot faster and harder to make the perfect throw, especially for the bad fielders. The fielding and rhe stealing views also BLOW, they need to be fixed. If possible the scoreboards have to be lit up, they dont neccesarily have to have the current score, but something to make the ballparks look realistic. Also the apple in new york and bernie the brewer need to be back in the game etc. You have to tweak the pitching a little also, as mentioned above the stick is great, but last years pitching was alot better. AND PLEASE FIX THE F******* FRANCHISE, AFTER EVERY GAME I CHECK THE COMPUTERS ROSTERS AND HALF OF THEM DONT HAVE ENOUGH PLAYERS! WHY? The core of the game is pretty good and I have supported you in posts before so please consider these ideas and keep up the good work Ron. Looking forward to 2k10.

Overall I am very pleased with the the first PC version of 2K9 Baseball. Obviously there are some issues but overall the game was, I thought, pretty good. Some of the more major issues with regards to the PC version is to work on the menu aspect where using the mouse or even controller seemed sort of a hassle. Also make the mapping for controllers a bit more user friendly and less confusing. As far as game play... overall I liked it other than the the fact that batters could hit just about anything. The aspect of choosing the pitch was rather weird too where a curve ball pitch was selected and the pitcher threw a fast ball or a slider instead. Also players running through guys. Those are some of the bigger issues I saw in the game and if fixed would make a fantastic game (game play wise is great as well). Can't wait for more PC games coming from 2k sports as I'm fed-up with EA. Keep up the good work and hopefully we'll see a NFL game soon?
Thanks 2K for the awesome graphics and making player animations as if it was that real life player was in the game.

A couple of gameplay issues I would like to see resolved:
1.) The ball/bat physics need to be improved, for example I would like to see much more foul contact when I'm not getting the ball right on the sweet spot of the bat. The way it is now (with a few exceptions of course), is that when you swing at a pitch you're either making non-foul contact or you swing for a strike with no in between which is just not realistic (The Show does this perfectly).
2.) Please, please fix the bug whereby the pitched ball goes right through the sweet spot of the bat! This has had me screaming a few times as it's already difficult enough to properly connect using cursor hitting like I do, but it's excruciating when you know you've read the pitch just right only to get a strike and witness the horror on slo-mo replay.
3.) The swing button needs to have more range so that I can check swing more easily and even adjust the strength of my swing by how much harder/softer I press the button.
4.) Pitching is almost there, however I'm still seeing strange things especially when throwing the slider as it seems to slide the wrong way at various times. From what I understand, the slider should make the ball slide down and away from the batter in the following situations: RHP->RHB, LHP->LHB. However, too many times the opposite happens (the pitch goes down and in) and I end up hitting the batter which is extremely frustrating (the HUD display tells me it's a slider therefore I know I'm not mistakenly making a different pitch).
5.) Please bring back the pitch feedback!
6.) Please allow us to change pitchers while batting as I don't want to see my pinch hitter on the pitcher's mound the following innning (there's something eerily wrong about that).
7.) The dive button is practically useless due to its non-responsiveness as I see infield hit after infield hit go into the outfield while my infielders just stand and watch even when I take control and attempt to dive! Yet, the CPU team's fielders are all gold glove players who have absolutely no problem with snagging any of these hits. This also applies to any dive attempts made in the outfield as there is a good 1+ second delay which leads to many missed catches.
Even with all these problems, I still enjoy playing the game (being the masochist that I am) therefore if these things can be improved upon, I'll definitely look forward to playing 2K10...

Please add back everything that was in MLB 2k7 and 2k8, that would make me halfway happy. I was very upset things were taken out (accessories, player edits, rainouts/rain delays/doubleheaders, time of day choices/classic-minor league stadiums, wind blown jerseys)
Please add LIVE out of town SCOREBOARDS!
Pick up a copy of All-Star Baseball 2005 and add all the features that were in that game. You'd have a perfect baseball game and a customer for life.

I would love for the game to be region free. I'm not saying to push the product in a country like Australia ( where I'm from), where baseball is a less prominent sport, but at least allow the game to be shipped and playable on PAL consoles. I'm sure there are many Australians and Europeans who would appreciate this matter being addressed come the release of MLB 2k10. Thanks :)

I have a few suggestions that I don't know where else to post - but please read them.
I have both 2k8 and 2k9. So when making 2k10, please keep in mind these suggestions.
1. BRING BACK THE 2k8 INTERFACE.
I like the 2k8 UI better than the 2k9. The elements I liked better with the 2k8 interface was that the top bar you could display the pitchers pitch count, stamina was listed as an actual number, and you can view player stamina throughout the whole game (not just the screen to change the line up before the game).
2. BRING BACK THE 2k8 TRADING CARD ELEMENTS
I really liked the whay 2k8 did the trading cards - the classic stadium unlocks (PLEASE add the OLD yankee stadium this year - as well as Veteran Stadium and Three Rivers :D ). Some of the 2k9 card achievements were unachievable. The trading card system in 2k8 was well put together, imo.
3. CHANGE: AWARD SYSTEM
Ok, so I pitched a perfect game with Lincecum in Legendary mode on a Sunday game - and at the end of the week on a Saturday pitched a shutout in same mode. That was 18 innings pitched, 2 wins, 0 ERA, and had 20 Ks. Guess what? Some unknown set up pitcher from the Padres won the "Player of the week" award for pitchers.
How does a pitcher who throws at least 2 CG shutouts with 20 K's not get player of the week for pitchers? That just does not sound right.
3. ADD: Customization in Franchise Mode.
I know this sounds silly, but I would like to be able to customize players GEAR in franchise mode. Not their stats - just their gear - if possible. I am sure there is a way to be able to customize gear without touching stats.
4. ADD: New Card Team Icons.
The same ones are getting old. But, don't get rid of them - just add new ones :)
5: ADD: STADIUM BUILDER AND VIEWER
Maybe your card team does not want to play in any of the DEFAULT mode stadiums. Maybe they would like a stadium of their own. Also, you should be able to view any stadium before selecting it for your card team.
6: ADD: FULL FRONT OFFICE MODE.
This would be a really cool feature. Create your own franchise sort of thing. You create the stadium, you start the season as a "new expansion team." You have control over setting the average prices for seats, specials for the fans, even add ways to hire / fire managers and coaches.
7: ADD: New Legends cards!
Bring some old time favorites back to the Legend cards. Such as Steve Carlton, Marty Bystrom, etc etc...
You can even add funny cards like Mitch Williams: Walk 3 batters in a row and give up an extra base hit in the same inning.
8: Add RETRO teams...
Add some of the classic World Series teams to play in normal game mode.
One that comes to mind is 1980 KC Royals vs 1980 Phi Phillies
NOTE: To avoid issues of including classic world series players in DRAFT, you can have a selection in FRANCHISE mode for ROSTER selection as DEFAULT (2k10 roster), Current (all 2k10 players); or SEASON (2k10 current updated roster only).
9: ADD: UMPIRES!
Wouldn't it be really cool to have actual names of umpires? Like "Balking" Bob Davidson behind the plate? Which brings me to my final addition...
10. ADD BALKS - as a stat and an integral part of the game.
It does not happen much, but it DOES happen. Sometimes, it happens in really close games where it can make a big difference.

Need to add:
-Bean Brawls
-Ejections
-manager arguments that if manager gets ejected maybe it increases the teams stats for a inning or something
-40 man roster during last month
-deeper franchise mode
-Mascots like the Phillie Phanatic
-LESS homeruns in online play
-Allow stats to be emailed to account for online play ( Like Madden 2010 )
Just somethings that should be considered!!

WOW I do like the mascot idea too! Instead of the intermittent blank commercial stuff, the mascot things would be an awesome edition between innings as if you were at the actual game.
And here is something else I think ALL fans will agree with...
MLB 2k10 BEATS SHOULD INCLUDE LOCK IT UP!!!

there is only two things that i seen in the game (the show) that i would like to see now i bought both the baseball games for pc to support them and will do so next version as well but you got to add the home run celebrations that are specific to each ball park like the show you know were the guy slides down the sled in brewers or the big apple lights up in new york all those little touches are nice hiting home runs in your baseball game are not very exciting and the second thing was the team mascots your basketball game has them why can't your baseball. that's it thanks for letting me put my 2 cents in

One of the suggestions that I dont know if someone allready talked about it, It's about the crowd atmosophere. I know there are other topics that are more important to address, but the crowd atmosphere is the BIG diference of how the game makes you feel it, one day a threw a perfect game and the stadium feel was like there was 4675 in attendance =/. Theres a current basketball game that has an choosing option in exihibition of playing with reg season atmosphere, playoff atmosphere or finals or in this case World Series atmosphere, when your playing franchise is automatic. Seriously I think it would be a great addition to the game, hitting a homerun in a clutch situation, watching some stadium fans shaking those white towels, etc. :)
