cant wait to see what its like. basketball on the wii could be great if someone did it right. i had Live 08 on wii and it was crap. there wasnt even direct pass on it. 3 point shootout was the only half decent thing. it shouldnt be hard for 2K to take over. hopefully they also allow support for the classic controller so people on wii can also play it like any other system if they choose

But most likely, it will fail in comparison to the other console versions (and PC). They could always prove me wrong but the general consensus these days is 360/PS3 > Wii.

I own a Wii (and love it), but this is a type of game that I would only play on my Xbox 360.

Though I am happy for the Wii owners! :D

I will guess and say that it may be using the PS2 game engine with some control enhancements. It's pretty much the route that was made for MLB and NHL on the Wii. However, I could be wrong. Even so, the PS2/Xbox versions of NBA2K weren't bad offerings by the least.

Good for Wii owners, but to me I don't think it would go well with the Wii, you would get a ps2 looking game with new controls since the Wii is going to need a new control scheme. Too hit or miss in my opinion, just doesn't seem like a game for this system.

WTF you talking about "Professor" johnny dollar? Besides saying "don't never", what about that post was hard to understand? Should there have been more punctuation and/or indent paragraphs? Are you British or something?

If THAT is hard to read for you, then you'll need to translate this whole website into geek language

It figures; there's always someone who will make excuses for crappy writing skills. Well, that explains a lot. Also, 'geeks' know how to write, since they are intelligent.

Although it is kind of difficult to do a worst game than NBA Live for the Wii, I think 2K Sports is ready for the challenge. I hope I am wrong but I am pretty sure they will port the PS2 graphic engine and add some gesture controls. The game should play good but will look ugly and probably will lack some important features such as online playing, which is already available in NBA Live 08. Considering EA Sports is actually investing some money in doing decent games to the Wii, I wouldn't be amazed with NBA Live turn out to better this year, despite the traditionally superior NBA 2K's gameplay.

Well, since EA is not making NBA Live '10 for the Wii, it looks like this will be your only option...

I think this is the route that will be taken too. They should use the original Xbox engine if possible as the game took most of its abilities and actually looked quite good overall. NBA2K did utilize the abilities of both systems, and the graphics really weren't bad at all.

Everyone who is ripping the Wii because of its lower graphics capabilities just doesnt get it. Its about gameplay. And nothing can touch the potential of the Wii for gameplay.

Tiger Woods 10 on Wii just proved that. It makes golf on all other platforms seem pathetic. The pitching in the Bigs Wii proved it as well.

NBA Live 08 was a decent first effort for basketball on the Wii. The motion for shooting a shot is great. Makes pushing buttons seem very lame in comparison. Too bad EA took a step backwards with Live 09.

I hope 2K can maximize the gameplay capabilities for hoops on the Wii.

I just beg for graphics that are at the very least on the level of NBA 2K7 for the original Xbox (not the crappy ps2 version engine)...the wii is capable of doing that, if not more. New animations would be sweet too, i mean, i know that it will not come filled with animations like the ps3/360/pc versions, but make an effort.

And i also beg that the game supports the classic controller. DO IT 2K, don't just release a crappy version for the sake of releasing it.

The Nunchuk stick? That's how it's done in other sports games for the Wii. Or, they could implement point and drag for movement, like PES 2009 did, but that might be expecting too much...

I'm skeptical of that, considering 2K's lack of info on this version of the game, but it would be intriguing if it actually was true. Man, I really want more details on this Wii version, as no good NBA/basketball game has been developed yet for the console...

I would say this is our best chance of hope as it seems that 2K Sports is really putting an effort in NHL Wii and perhaps they will extend this policy to their whole Wii line. If I only cared for hockey...

Any update on this? I'd like some new news on the Wii version of NBA 2K10, especially as to whether it will have online mode(s), etcetera.

I know NHL 2K10 for Wii will have essentially the same features as the PS3/XBox360 versions, so I have hopes for this NBA game, since both are developed by Visual Concepts...
