I wonder if they'll put kobes off the backboard pass to himself in the game. I know he's not the first player to do it and is not the last but he did it quit a few times this year in the playoffs. Should they add it?

nobodys commented on this because u dnt kno ur history. Kobe hasn't done that enough for that to be HIS move. Jamal Crawford originated it and T-MAc made it popular so no they dnt need to include this. they need to worry about REAL gameplay.

TMac about perfected it, and Vince Carter made some amazing ones in the All Star game.. with that being said, Kobe did it one time, which was a layup that barely crawled in against Yao. Without a doubt an amazing move, but it won't be in the game.

but it would bring back memories of me throwing an oop to K-Mart in 2k5 off the backboard.....Good times.

I would like to see the bounce the ball off the ground, catch and dunk by your self on the fast break. That would be sick.

Ok kid, don't get it twisted I never said he did it the most or nothing like that. I was just simply stating if they would put the move it in the game. Maybe not call it his move but a move in the game. You would have to be dumb, deaf, and blind to not know crawford, t mac and many other players have done it. Jason kidd has thrown many of them off the board to players. Im not saying take away from defense or gameplay just an addition of something new, and why would they worry about something small like this, it is real gameplay like you said tmac and j crawford did it plenty of times before.

I only brung kobe into it because he is the cover athlete, and people take his moves into account.

If anything they should put Kobe's pump fake and pivot move. When I first seen him do this to Ginobili I lost my ****.

As long as the pivot move has a counter, I'm for it... but I don't want it to become the new cheese move like the pivot move in 2k9.

it will have!!! you can allways block a shot...or what d'u mean by counter?

Well, I thought about it, you can probably do it in 2k9 as is. You just have to be real good with the iso-motion to get the pivot off quick enough. Regardless, it's a disgustingly sick move IRL.

There are some moves in 2k9 which are often too hard to block. To the point where the game becomes about playing the laws of probability over intellectual basketball.

I hope they dont give post player the same damn moves down low. Some of them cant even shoot but they damn near the corner 3line making them.

but i mean blockin smbody IRL isnt easy... it shouldnt b automatic, cos then the game's score board will never c numbers over 10, and that's frustrating...they do need to sort out the blocking...

That's just an error in code, they need to have a variable that overrides the player's probability of having a post shot go in depending on the position on the floor.

and also, me peronaly i would like 2 c less shots blocked from the perimeter and more in the paint, but without fouling, i mean good stoppers should have way more chances of covering the shot, especially with the new shotstick introduced...

But at the same time, people shouldn't be able to trigger the move with a 95% success rate whenever they want to on every possession with the only counter being Dwight Howard. I'm not asking to be able to block shots at will, but even double teaming people and major contesting on these moves rarely affects certain shots from going in. They need to make the moves situational, so it depends on the defense before they can even trigger the animation. Not letting an almost unblockable/unstoppable move from being repeated at nausea no matter what type of defense is being played.

yeah...i c ur point....it really shouldnt b as casual as dunking for example....if they do, make it rare, but nice and difficult 2 make,so that when u DO pull it off it will really b amazing...

Yeah, stuff like Kobe's pivot moves and jawdropping dunks are exciting because they're not an every game occurrence. They need to lower dunking in traffic for the next game. All they need to do is simply lower the slider... it's not hard. Then when a dunk is done in traffic here and there, it actually feels exciting to see rather than not being exciting because you see it once for every two minutes you're playing.

The only counter move that I think works consistantly on the pivot is to double team, and when I mean consistant I mean once out of every 5 times, lol and that's only compared to blocking it, trying to block it is a death sentence. you gotta bring help over and that still don't work, you can only hope he misses it, I swear when I do that move nene goes 11-12 fg, melo too

It's a toss up with me about things happening occasionally and consistantly on this game
on the one hand, yes these things don't happen back to back in the REGULAR SEASON
but on the other hand, when your playing online quick match & exibition is it consisdering your last game you played? Or is it playing like a fresh game, not worring about you doing the same thing you did all last game? Of course we don't see kobe doing spectacular things game after game cause it's a long season, like in baseball heavy hitters don't always hit homeruns, but if there known for hitting them in the game should they be penalized game after game for cost of realisim?
Like one game kobe can have a game like he did last night, but the next exibition game you play he's suddenly cold? That's kinda crappy, it's a double edge sword, cause no one would be happy if you played multiple games online & one game your on fire, but the next your cold, or can't do the same moves you did last game for the sake of realisim
Get what i'm saying?

nowadays, u dont c hat many traffic dunks, n if u do, u really apreciate them, there's more 3pt and mid range shootin now...

June 5th, 2009, 07:03 AM
u have 2 make it deped on how u use the player in particular game... if he gets fired up like kobe did in game 1 the hell yeah!!! hee'll b doin damage all game long!!! but if u start sagin off for a while he'll play more for the team...

June 5th, 2009, 07:07 AM
I understand what you mean Baltimore but I'm just talking about seeing a couple of dunks in traffic per game as opposed to seeing twenty of them and for moves to have equal counters... there's a reason why teams average around 45% FG shooting as opposed to people in 2k who shoot 60%+ every game even against the best of players.
Baltimorejoe88
June 5th, 2009, 07:16 AM
yeah 2k10 does need more equal counters moves, I love playing onBall but it's almost impossible to stop carmelo/nash/Broy spin, and derrick rose/cp3 shammgod crossover, I came to the conclusion that you can't be no where near those dudes when they do those moves, or you gotta slightly tap the right stick to come out of the animation to attempt a steal, but that usually ends up in a foul. Last year, it wasn't that easy to get sucked into a animation
And about seeing the dunks in traffic so much, I think they should do it like this, the higher the difficulty, the lower the exciting, 360, dunks in traffic, there should only be like one if none posterization if the game was on HOF, and NBA jam like on rookie, & so fourth, that way they could still have the cartoon feel, and keep the hardcore players, cause soon as I buy the game it's on HOF, even if I lose the first 20 games, it stays on HOF. It's the only way you get better IMHO
And bring back online lobbies, with every difficulty, that way the kids can play with the kids and the adults can play with the adults
So is everyone staying in the 2k10 fourms? Cause I don't wann keep going back & fourth, lol

yeah, i mean, take yesterday, how many dunks in traffic did we see?? how many dunks IN GENERAL did we see??? exactly.

June 5th, 2009, 07:25 AM
Double teams in the post also need to be more effective. It's rare for people to be able to put up a high percentage shot through a double team but in 2k, it's not that hard at all. Even Dwight Howard isn't an autodunker out of a double team in real life unless he's right underneath the basket. And most times when he tries, he's either stripped or fouled.
Ivan/#4\Boboshko
June 5th, 2009, 08:43 AM
also, you know, in the NBA, when the player goes to the rim with the ball, gets blocked, but keeps the ball in his hands it's a jump ball...in 2k NBA it's ALWAYS a shooting foul...damn

That is WHY he wasn't playin, coz most of the time u get dunks @ fastbreaks, and to get to the final u have to show more, than just pretty dunks, pretty, but not enough
