View Full Version : Why hasn't 2K made "Historic Teams" yet? (Please look, "Insiders")

Scrap the 50s/60s, 70s, 80s, 90s teams, and add full historic teams.

It would be so awesome to have a game like the 1996 Bulls and one of the 80s Lakers teams playing against each other. It could have like the 50 best teams ever, even multiple teams from the same year (Lakers/Celtics in the 80s). 50 doesn't seem like a lot, but it's better than 0 and would be a great starting point. Ideally, at least 2 Historic Teams for every franchise would be great so teams like the Sonics, Warriors, and Heat don't get left out. That would require many more than 50 teams though, to have at least 2 teams for each franchise, and all the best teams from the top franchises. I could easily see 20+ Lakers and Celtics teams combined.

If they can't get the rights to use a certain players name, just list them as "Position Number" for example, SG #23 on the Bulls for Michael Jordan and set the ratings how you would for that player, and maybe make it slightly resemble them.

NFL 2K5 had Historic Teams, and NFL teams have about 4 times as many players, and that game came out 5-6 years ago, so I don't see why NBA 2K can't have them too.

Is there a reason I don't know about that someone can tell me?

I have requested this for over 5 years and 2K still doesn't put it in. They need to go NFL2K5 route by having all the classic teams and whatever players they can put on those teams, and then lets us customize/edit the rest of the players.

they should have that and all time teams, the best players of each team on the same team
so it would be lakers, kobe and magic vs. celtics, bird and peirce, peirce is trash though

'92' bulls Jordan with no name at the back ? no thank you, It would just seem corny to me...either they get the rights to use the players or just exclude them, anyways why can't 2k get the rights to Michael Jordan ? can someone reply back , thanx.

They should do like Madden 02' put the players on the teams with the right faces and all that, but no name, but give you the option to give them a name once you you buy the game. But Jim Brown sued EA for doing that, so I don't think 2K will take that route.
