Gamespot has announced NHL 2K10 for Wii, 360, PS3, and PS2, and yahoo has taken down their PC box art.

Great news. I'm not a huge negative voice around here, but how hard is it to properly announce a game for the correct platforms? After the initial announcement, why the hell would there be any confusion?

I'd be pretty surprised if the PC box art was a 'shop by Yahoo/Puck Daddy. Somebody provided that, and I'm guessing it's most likely that it was posted before 2K wanted to announce it. Seriously sad if that's not the case.

Due EA down a PC-version (and it's good news, becourse EA PC NHL'06-09 versions - same game and small sh..t), i hope 2kSports team will realease NHL2k10 for PC too. 2k 09 NHL is realy good, realistic game. NHL 2K10 PC-version is very important to release, especially NOW (at such times)!!
Why?! Because of:
1) Now the ECONOMICAL CRISIS, so not all people have next-gen consoles (PS3, XBOX360). And will not be able to buy in the coming year due to salary. But almost all people have a PC (for work or anything, never mind). So in such extreme cases they can play at least on PC this year - two during the crysis.

2)PC-market absolutely have not a good hockey game! Because of EA NHL for PC (unlike the console's versions) is some sort of trash! EA not getting to change anything in this this year especially (it seems that NHL 10 (EA) will not be released this year on PC. So, 2K, you'll have a Monopoly on PC-market.
It is you chance, don't miss it!!!

3)You think, PC-version will be pirated and downloaded via torrents?! May be ... But you must include in game an ONLINE-multiplayer! And provide good (excellent connects and other servises and features like rankis, tournaments, and other) official servers (with key-checking), so true hockey fans will forced to buy a LICENSING (OFFICIAL) PC-version of the game.

4)I don't think it is too difficult to porting on PC the XBOX360-version of the game, because of similarity of the programming architecture. So small cost for a certain profit (good profit in the poor countries especially).




What must to be included in PC-version (required):
1)Online-multiplayer mode on official 2K-servers.
2)Moding pack for users - for NHL fans to moding names, leagues, jerseys, rosters, stadiums, and others. More fan's modds we need. PC - is the excellent platform for this purpose. Then. longer life for your game, 2K.
3)Next-gen graphics like PS3/XBOX360 versions.




Dear 2Ksports, you are doing very good Hockey games, pleeaaase, hear the voice of reson, and launch a PC-version of NHL 2K10. And please, let us know about the PC-announcement MORE SOON (early) - have a heart on our nerves...

1)There are dozens of PC Hockey Leagues in Russia!
2)EA is not going to produce its product (NHL 10) on PC!... So, if there will be a PC-version of NHL 2K10 - then ALL OF THESE LEAGUES (this is hundreds and thousands of russian players!) will compete in NHL 2K10!!!
3)And then the administrators of the Russian Cyber-hockey Community PROMISES TO PROVIDE GRANT SUPPORT (for free) for this product in Russia, will organize tournaments and competitions, promoting a product.

P.S. If there will be a good ONLINE-MODE in the game, then a lot of russian players'll buy a licension version of the game: Hockey is a cult in Russia!
All are very much waiting for this game, so, perhaps, some of them will download 2K10 from torrents (to preview this), ...and if the game is good, they 100% will buy the licension version of the game, because of a great respect and fan (collectioning) of hockey games in Russia.
......For this reason, it is promising to release and the downloading version of the game also (Digital distribution), for the impatient. That would be a good marketing move, i think.

i too am waiting for next gen graphics and gameplay for the pc. ea sports has shafted us in a way that most of us wont be going back to them if they return. hockey is a world wide sport it would sell well all over. i can not aford to buy another next gen system

i sold it thinking i was going to get my fix on pc only to have ea sports back out of what they said. and when your company made mlb front office manager i bought it i have played it 2 times it sites on my shelf collecting dust but i bought it to supports pc sports games then i purchased your nba game and then the baseball game all on day one of there releases.

what makes pc sports games my choice is that i can pop it in and play all day if i like. and not have to worry about frying up my xbox-360 or ps3 i can pause it come back when ever i want and not worry about it. i can go online and look for files that make my experience more entertaining by having a community that makes your product more appealing to the consumer.

the price has never been a turnoff point to me add online and ill pay 59.00 please dont let us hockey gammers get the shaft your games may have issues but we will still support it.

One thing I will say about a possible PC version. When the PC versions of NBA and MLB 2K9 were confirmed, it came after the initial press release for those games. For some reason, 2K didn't announce the PC versions at the same time as the other versions. Don't know why. But, if there is indeed a PC version (and I personally don't know), then a confirmation would be make a week or two from now. Again, I don't know why they hold off on it, but they do.

It doesn't look good, in the press release from 2K they didn't mention a PC release at he bottom of the page.

I think that when you have a huge hockey market that doesn't want to play a re-hashed game from EA (NHL 2006 models being used for the other company that makes the games away from the big team that makes the 360, and PS3 versions in Vancouver) being re-released year after year. If 2K was the only hockey game they'd see a HUGE jump and would be a sleeper PC hit i think.

i think the thing is... PC gamers are very vocal... sometimes i wonder if their vocalness doesnt make it seem like there are more of them than there really is

i know i watch the software at game places i frequent.... I NEVER see anyone looking at, let alone buying computer games... Hell my walmart is redoing their layout... expanding the areas that make money, contracting areas that dont. The new electronics layout is heavy on xbox ps3 wii, cell phones, and flat screens..... light on pc software and cd's





now i hope these guys get what they want so they are happy.... but if a game company feels like the ROI ain't there, i cant blame them for not doing something that will most likely be a loss

i think it makes better business sence to have all pc games downloaded off 3rd party servers and activation off the company who made the product rather than investing in box art and shiping costs

I buy games over the internet, coz its cheaper and you don't have to move, and the game is there,but if you go to a shop where they sell pc games there might not be one..i don't even have a shop that sells games in my city and i don't want to go to another city and waste more money with a possibility that there isn't one in a shop.
Well i can imagine if i was a xbox or ps3 gamer , i would go to another city to buy a game.
It's like this:
As a pc gamer i know what i want to buy, because there aren't many great games coming on pc all the time.
As a console user, i don't really know what i want, there are a lot of games to pick off, so if i go to the shop i have a good choice of great games, and if one isn't there i can buy another great game.

one more thing
the console game boxes are more enjoyable to look at then the pc ones. I like green so i watch at Xbox 360 game covers. I don't own a console, but when i walk in to a shop i go to see xbox games rather then pc games, because everyone knows nobody really makes good games for pc, there's like 2-3 great games coming out for pc each year, and Xbox for example has 5-10.

So i hope i made some point of pc gamers.

if they go threw steem only its impossible to pirate,well alot harder i still think they should use a doggle stick i bought this game called steel beasts pro like 4 yrs ago payed 120 bucks for it. the license was on the usb stick. without it plugged into your pc the game wont play period and till this day no one has hacked it 100 percent hacker proof if they sold you one doggle stick it could store all your game licenses

And still, all know for a long time already - make game for PC with high-grade network contents and game will buy all a coma it it is interesting! I think in hockey it probably.
