i posted a thread in the nhl2k9 regarding the unsigning of many great players due to the salary cap in my offline franchise. i hope that 2k10 ups the ai for the computer general managers because it horrible that great players dont get signed!!!! as a sim player and offline franchise person this annoys me much!!! also why cant 2k come up with an online franchise like ea sports did with their college football 09, that would be AWESOME!!!!

as far as the unsigned UFA's... thats a problem that exists in every sports game i know of... it happens in Madden and 2k NBA.... i hope they all get it figured out

One of the bigger issues I found in Offline franchise was that teams signed most of their draft picks filling up both their NHL and minor league roster spots. I simmed ahead a few seasons, and it got to the point where I had to make 1:1 trades, or be stopped by the "this would give this team too many players" dialog box.
I believe that the full rosters, coupled with the demands of the Free Agents created the mess where good players go unsigned.
For grins though, I did blow through the salary cap for a year or two by signing all those good players. I think I was back-to-back Stanley Cup champs with a payroll of well over double the cap.

just one of the many multi-glitches (one problem leads to another problem that leads to another problem that leads....) which we can only hope will be corrected in NHL2k10. the franchise mode was a complete disaster in NHL2k9 because of these kinds of shortcomings.
