I would guess that EA for the most part has shown us what they will be offering up in there NHL 10 game this year. What we don't know is what 2K will be offering yet. For that reason I would like everyone to tell 2K what is expected in there game this year. I would like to break it down into several catagories: ]Past platform experiences, what platform you plan on playing the game on and what needs to be in the game before you will purchase it, what you expect in the game, and what you hope to see in the future.
I still own NHL2K8 for the PS2. It was ok to play but stopped playing it once I got 2K9 for the wii. Yes the wii version seemed like a step backworks as far as graphics and a hardcore NHL game. But the games themselves were fun to play and with some twaeking of the sliders you could play just about any type of game you wanted.
I am seriously considering buying the wii version again but serveral items need addressed. First, the graphics and camera angles need to be improved some. Yea, I know it is the wii and there are limitations but some improvements need made. Secondly, the CPU needs to know how to handle injuries in the offline franchise mode. I had 2 seasons ruined due to having injuries cause my franchise to freeze. Since turning off injuries, I am now up to second season. There also must be a way so that I am locked into playing just 1 position as there was in the 2K8 game. The last thing that there needs to be is a seasonal fatigue meter also as in 2K8 where each player fatigues to a certian degree throughout the season dependant upon age and games played in a span. Where it woiuld be benefical to rest an older player in a 3rd game in a four night span.
I do not play online but understand that several people do and I am expecting online leagues. I also expect there to be better trade logic and also expect pre-draft scouting to come back (wii version). I am expecting the sliders to produce the same results as in 2K9. I also would like the option for a 41 game schedule.
What I expect in the future is for better presentation, such as like a once a week NHL tonight, closer to how the NFL 2K5 did the sportscenter deal. Also a weekly team schedule is implemented in helping or hurting your players such as on off days if you choose to have a mandatory skate, optional skate or a day off and injuries could occur during that time and fatigue should factor into these decisions.
Let 2K know what you are all expecting.
