I have a few questions:

1) Is there anything similar to EA's Be a Pro mode in NHL 2K10?
2) Can a created team be used online?
3) If the created team can be used online, can others co-operatively play on our created team against other co-operative created teams like in the EASHL?

Thanks for including my question about the option to have injuries "on" for on-line league play. I've been asking this question -- is the feature in the game and, if not, has it ever even been considered? -- and I've never received any kind of a reply in four years!

Remember guys, Thursday August 27th is the last day to accept questions. So post away. Don't forget the questions will be answered August 28th.

this is your chance to get a mass amount of info, so all should try and take advantage of it. C'mon people, post more questions.

I got the answer to two of my questions. It turns out that you can create a team, use it online/offline/franchise, design the uniforms and colors in whatever way you want AND play with your friends in the same team against other such created teams.

Essentially, 2KSHL makes its premiere on September 15th. I somehow doubt that it will have any kind of ranking system for co-op team games, but there's no reason we can't create some sort of a compromise amongst ourselves. I call for the creation of three possible teams:

1) 2k Legends - Allowing players that have distinguished themselves over the years but haven't been entered into Team 2k entry.
2) Canadian Champions - The best that Canada has to offer.
3) American All-Stars - The best that the U.S. has to offer.

(2 & 3 would rock for rivalry purposes alone)

My guess is that people aren't asking more questions because there have been a couple of previous threads asking for questions and comments looking ahead to NHL2k10. For instance, I'm still curious about how (and how often) rosters will be updated but I know there has already been a lot of discussion about how it will work in NHL2k10. Some people have suggested that the "roster share" feature will take care of that issue but it hasn't been definitively determined how "roster share" will work (or not work) in every mode (on line leagues?). I'm just not sure which information/speculation on this subject is accurate. I think a lot of people are hesitating to ask questions now because most of us try to avoid asking questions that have already been answered ... or pseudo answered. There seem to be a lot of partial answers bouncing around the forum but, as they say down below, the devil is in the details.

Some questions regarding franchise mode:

Will the cpu generate a new schedule every season (in 2k9 you had to play the same schedule every season)?
How many years/seasons will franchise mode consist of?

Thanks!

Here is an issue that nobody seems to talk about: shooting

- What kind of wristshots will the players be able to perform?

A brief history of what I know - 2k5: A wristshot with no possibility to hold for more power/precision - the player faces the goalie

2k6/7: two different kinds of shots 1- power wrister, the player positions himself sideways a bit as if he were to take a slapshot and rips one pretty good. 2- manual shooting - with a combination of buttons you enter in the manual shooting stance in which your player cannot move its skates anymore and just glides. At this moment you can move your stick left and right (from forehand to backhand) with the analog stick and once you release L trigger, the shot takes off. The manual shooting stance could only happen in the slot and it was the best way to deke a goalie.

2k8: the worst in my opinion, there is the normal wrister/power wrister that you are only able to use when far from the goalie (looks like no.1 from 2k6). When you're in the slot you can only make a poor automatic (depending on your position from the goalie) writshot with no charge-up and no initial power. No left or right leg that goes up for the weight transfer either, well, most of the time.

I have no idea about 2k9 lol

But what's it gonna be in 2k10 apart from the stumble shot?

Roster share -- will it be available for on-line league play? Same for the fantasy draft; will we be able to creates leagues via fantasy draft the way we could in NHL2K8? Will we be able to trade picks in the fantasy draft?

Question:

With all the hubbub about the contro layout last year,
Can we map the controls to any button we want? like in 2k8 and previous versions?

If there is a Be-A-Pro-like feature in 2K10, will there be a pro shop to buy equipment?

Are all those great arena intros in use throughout the season in season mode?

Last year we didn't get 'em until the playoffs.

Are there intros in the presentation? In gameplay videos, there were none.
Is there an option to pick different intros?
Is there are playoff mode, or a mode similar to EA's Battle for the Cup mode?

Sharks, all those questions have been answered, Playoff mode is an acheivement and the intros are in. The alternate intros is definately not there, add that to the 2khockey wishlist.

Forget twitter and blogomania and facebook etc. ...THIS FORUM is where this should be taking place! Or at least it is one of the places where we should be able to access the call. Is there a place we can go to read all the answers or is everything included in the two twitters?

well macpuck, it looks as though you finally have your answer:

5:43 PM – Injuries in online leagues? No

hopefully next year...

Bruinsforlife ... I listened to the entire, hour-long conference call and, while some of the answers were disappointing, I guess you could say there was a glimmer of hope for my question about including the option of playing on-line leagues with injuries "on" ... The answer wasn't just "No" ... it was "No, not this year, unfortunately." I choose to interpret that to mean that somebody at least grasps the benefit of such a feature. My question about the ability to start up a league though a fantasy draft (the way we could in 2k8) was not answered and I have a feeling that would also be a "no" but we'll just have to wait and see. The conference call featured many, many repeat questions but I guess that's a built-in shortcoming of this kind of an event and I think the benefits of the conference call greatly outweighs the wasted time and awkward moments. The interviewer could probably have done without 20 or 30 of his "cool ... very cool ... oh that's cool stuff... okay, that's cool" remarks but the overall effect was a sharing of information and that's very seldom a bad thing. I'm editing this because I just typed "Thank you Jesus (isLord)" ... for providing access to the podcast ... and it felt a bit wierd to watch those words appear on my screen ... kind of disrespectfull or something. But thank you, anyway.

I hope you're correct in your interpretation that they're at least thinking about the injury question. I won't pretend to know just what would be involved in making it a reality but there does seem to be sliver of hope there.

Anyways I'm glad they at least acknowledged your question. It's a step in the right direction.

Yup I have to agree!

I remember the days we'd be starving for information even a hint on the up coming game or problems with it and hear very little or nothing :(

But now! Information is coming in all kinds of directions and this is great!

I feel somewhat (as small as it is) connected to 2K now, like part of a team making 2K Hockey #1 again

Ya gotta like it eH

I can't wait for 2K10 ....... Drop the puck already !!

No doubt flexxer, 2k is a community. Its nice to feel like you're a part of something, even in a small way. If 2k keeps communicating (like they did in the past) with customers it will build good will and loyalty.

I've said it before but it's sort like comparing the mac community, people who feel a part of a unique community, and the pc community, a large anonymous sea of people that i don't think have the same connection.

Anyways, I'm not trying to start a mac v pc thing just expressing the feeling of the two communities.

I can't wait to play this game!

I definitely believe you have to give 2K credit for trying harder this time around than they did in the past. Maybe it's just easier to communicate about something you are confident is an upgraded product.

Hmmm Ya know Macpuck I think your onto something.

I for one know you were pushing for this and........

I think they listened.

Defiantly easier to talk about something your proud of :)

I'm STOKED for 2K10 !!

Guess, I'll have to wait to see if they improve the french translation. I was pretty sure they wouldn't answer this question. :thumbsdow
