This year is kind of wide open. Nobody is really returning major senior tallent that i can think of.

I like the idea of an ACC national champ but i like UNC with their 3 returning players -may, mccants, felton, and adding MarvWilliams to the mix.

and keep an eye on Leon Poe playing for cal(berkley) He should be a top 5 pick in the 05 draft

Prediction UNC will win the acc and the National Championship and McCants will win the POY!

its gonna be a battle between wake and UNC in the ACC. But you still cant forget bout Duke and NC state. And for POY i think its gonna be up for grabs between Ryan Ghomes, Chris Paul, and Rashad Mccants

only thing that im afraid with for UNC is their lack of depth they lost so many games last year cuz so many of their players like jawad williams and raymond felton and sean may got tired. It sucks that JR smith went to the NBA and not UNC. Also last year they barely came out with a winnign record.

they were still young...sophmores...this year will be way different...and yes i was very ****ed when JR Smith went to the NBA..then they would juz be plain dominate but Rashad McCants will lead them this year...if im not mistakin he led the ACC in PPG as a sophmore...imagine what h'ell do now with more expierence  mwahahaha.....Vitale predicts them to be #1 in POLLS and the NATIONAL CHAMPS...and that man knows his college hoops

PREDICTION----UNC,MARYLAND IN ACC CHAMPIONSHIP.....DUKE CRYS AS THEY LOSE TO CLEMSON IN THE 1ST ROUND...102-67...COACH K GOES BIZIRK CAUSE HE WISHED HE TOOK THE JOB IN LA....CAUSE THATLL BE FUNNY

I say for ACC championship WaKE and NC state. UNC will lose a good amount of games this year because of lack of death. IT always happens to them

i dunno about lack of depth...we have a good team....i mean McCants lead the ACC in ppg...May in rpg and felton in apg...and the ACC is a tough division(the toughest)...plus our bench players arent all that bad..David Noel,Jackie Manuel and Jawad Williams all avereaged about 23 mpg...with like 10 rpg and 6 rpg a game....and as for losing always happens to them...well it happened to them after the dean smith era...and in came  matt dorehty where he juz plain ****ed the UNC basketball organization up....but now we have a excellent coach in roy williams (the winningest active coach in the country) almost as good as smith....i say we our National Champs once again!!

UNC only had like 2 good players off the bench. And Jawad Williams was a starter he wasnt on the bench that much. Im just saying that i know UNC wont have enough depth to win it all.

he was benched more games than he started....but we will see what they do when college hoops is upon us

Marvin Williams, Jackie Manuel (ACC Defensive Player of the Year, I think), Jesse Holley, David Noel, Reyshawn Terry, sounds like good depth to me

Most will disagree, but UConn will repeat. I am not saying that because I am a fan or because I want to see a repeat happen. I truley believe that UConn and UNC are the top two teams in the country, but I give the edge to the Huskies because they have been through the Final Four.

Okafor and Godon will not be tough replacements. Charlie Villanueva may be the most improved player this year and outplay Ryan Gomes and Hakim Warrick in the Big East. Along with CV on the frontline will be returning starter Josh Boone, bull-dog Ed Nelson (strongest player in the country), and two players who would be starting on most other teams in the country but will get no more than 10 miutes per game each for UConn, Hilton Armstrong and rebounding machine Marcus White.
Rashad Anderson, will get twice as many shots as he did last year and will pick up the scoring slack left by Ben Gordon. Denham Brown, a great scorer, will play injury free and could easily average the 15ppg that he did last year before his knees gave out. UConn also has the best Freshman in the country, Rudy ***, but he won't be starting due to their amazing depth. He is an athletic scorer and defender.

The Biggest problem for UConn will be the point guard position. Taliek Brown will be missed the most out of the three starters lost from last years Championship squad. Marcus Williams may be the best alley-oop passer in college basketball but that will not win a Championship for UConn. However, he has shown some good point guard skills in the pre-season and should be able to get the Huskies though December without a loss. When A.J. Price comes back from an intracranial hemorrage and plays the point in January, UConn will be at full-force and may be better than last year's team come March. Not to mention, UConn has one of the best coaches in the country in Jim Calhoun who will teach this team to play excellent team basketball.
