Besides getting two technicals or flagrants there would be a cut scene between a player and a ref disputing a call either one commited by the player or if the player is fouled and the ref doesn't make the call. If you press a then you respectfully ask the ref to watch closely because you may be fouled and you might notice that the ref may give you some calls because you addressed the situation with him respectfully. If you press b then you curse him out or do something unsportmanly, which results in a tech. x will be an automatic ejection because it will be more hostile than b.

thats not really neccessary for more realism tho and what if you mistakenly press the button during crunch time or something and you give the other team a free throw and lose a key player...so now u'll have to be thinking of what to press in cut-scenes?

You wouldn't be able to do a cut-scene if you miss the shot and there's no dead ball for awhile. If after a long time the play finally stops, you may forget. It's a good start, but there has to be a better way to do it.

I told Sega before that we wanna play b-ball not an RPG! Plus what if i decide to play it smart everytime and not curse the refs out? Thats would probably be the perfect teaching tool for Rasheed Wallace!
I think the whole tech-argument-with-the-ref thing should happen in the background. Sort of like them old classic movies like N-aked Gun and Police Academy. Where you have to actually pay attention to the background to see whats happening. The camera may not be focused on the action but if a whistle blows then we should see a cutscene. If you're worried about your player taking things too far that can be fixed with his individual slider settings. :)
