I love the gameplay.. I have been playing hockey games on the PSX and PS2 for a while now.. I liked the 989 Faceoff series until the last one really blew.. I got nhl 2K2 for PS2 and it was the first EA hockey game I liked.. I have played 1.5 full seasons on that and STILL hear new things once in a while.
The only problem I have with ESPN hockey is the audio.. It is terribly repetitive, and often dead wrong. Half of the faceoffs in the zone, they say the wrong goalie name (IE my goalie in their zone), or I score a clean goal and Pang says the post is the goalies best friend?! It almost makes me want to turn off the commentary alltogether.
The other thing I like about NHL 2K2 is the replays on goals.. I like seeing what kind of deak I made in slowmo.
