Basicly, because I am trying to figure out which game to by and I like to do that by the players that are on the team that I like. I know I can always create a player, but then they end up being like a 95 after 1 or 2 seasons.

What I meant was that I am deciding between 2 quality games in espn and nhl. I would be happy with either of them and I just wanted to know which game had the most accurate rosters and rookies on them.

Glad you didn't tell him the '91 Blues was unlockable, he might have had an accident! I'm a Blues fan myself and I thought ESPN was EXTREMELY generous with their stats.

Are you aware of the fact the the players attributes are fully editable?
You can make them whatever you want if you disagree with their current ratings.

Could someone please post the various configurations of the 'A' and 'X' buttons? I just want to make sure that they're used effectively before I buy this title.
Just kidding - not to poke too much fun here but why not have deeper criteria to decide which game to buy?
Games today try to ship a week or so prior to the season actually starting and so one (or two) games will have rosters that are not 100% up to date. For example, the Maple Leafs roster in 2K4 does not have Joe Nieuwendyk but that didn't stop me from buying the game.
