I have fun playing the game, and currently have a 5-3 record in season, but the only place I can make a dunk is in practice mode. Can someone give me a good tip in order to be able to make a dunk once in awhile...even when I seem to have an open lane to the basket on a fast break, the player will pull up and do a layin instead....HELP!![/img]

Thanks for encouragement, Nubius! I actually finally got a dunk in my game last night. Tayshaun was in the lane, grabbed a rebound and slammed it home. I guess I just need to make sure that I have an open lane, and to use the turbo before the shot button press....I really am impressed by all of the little things that seem to be in this game; tip-ins, reverse layups, AI crashing offensive boards better so I can take more shots from perimeter than last year...

I also posted a question about how to make more dunks, some time back, and the turbo button is the key to it. I think if you keep it pressed while you work the shooting button it's almost a sure thing.
One of my favorites moves now is to have a quick dunkmaster out around the edge of the key. When I see no defender is right under the basket, I try to get the guy guarding me to go for the pump fake. Once he does, I make a break for the basket and slam it home. Love it!!

Thanks, Maximo. I'll try keeping the turbo button pressed close to the basket. I know that usually, unless I can get the defender to bite on the pump fake, I end up with a charging foul... Sorry that I didn't see your original question, but I just started on the message boards.

I read this post then started to try the turbo button more often when dunking. It works! This definitely is the key to dunking in the game. I just hate how the turbo button is the right trigger (xbox) and then you have to press the shoot button. It's an akward motion, at least for my fingers. For some reason, I always want to press the left trigger than the shoot button for my dunks. It just feels more natural for 2 hands to be used for that button press.
Other thing that I'm getting down is alley-oops. Way better now, but you have to be really precise when pressing the X+A to execute one. If you're a tad off it will become a pass. I'd rather have a two hand button press for this one too.

DID YOU GO INTO THE GAMEPLAY OPTIONS AND SET THE LAYUP / DUNK RATIO??

Personally, I just used default. I'll have to look and see what that is. Thanks gametymeea!

I DON'T OVERDO IT...I JUST BUMP IT ENOUGH SO THE PLAYER WILL DUNK IN " OBVIOUS" DUNKING SITUATIONS - I LIKE TO KEEP THE GAME AS PURE AS POSSIBLE.
