I did try to use the search engine for this question, but it just directed me to general posts.
I love the NBA 2K5 video game, yet I can't make foul shots for #%*#. I'm playing at Pro level, which is fine for me, right now, but every time I get the opportunity to go to the line for foul shots I find that I can't make them. In fact, I've only made one out of all the ones I've ever tried. I looked it up in the game manual, but that didn't tell me anymore than what I see on the screen when I'm playing.
Anyone who knows the best technique to use for shooting foul shots, please share it with me. I don't mind having players that don't shoot a high percentage, but I should be able to make most of them.

There really is no tip that I can think of. Using an xbox, I just concentrate on the trigger alignment the most then quickly hit the X button when the blue circle is on it's way down. Take your time on your foul shots too.
I thought the free throw system sucks because it's way to easy. 7 games into the season and my team hasn't missed a free throw yet.

My hat is off to you, because I find it incredibly difficult. I have a PS2 and centering the bouncing ball isn't the hard part, it's the centering the left and right bars around the ball at the same time that is the killer.
I'll keep at it. Actually, is there a way I can practice free throws in this game?

Make you a player in 24/7 mode and practice all the skills you want there.

I have an easier solution for you.Turn the free throw help ON and you won't have to worry about them.Your team will make at least 60% of them.

To practice free throws just go to game modes click practice and then select free throws thats the easiest way

you have to see that the left and right triggers dont have to be a perfect circle just round enough, so you could actually make a freethrow with the half circles ( O ) that much apart and make the free throw. this case works for shooters 70% and up, you will make it, and to get the ball red, all in timing, practice mode will help also.

Freethrows kick my butt too, can you turn on freethrow assistance in 24/7?
