Ok this is BrianG's idea, so i decided to start one up and just test the waters and see what everyone thinks. i was going to go to bed earlier tonight, but i got a call from a girl and was on damage control for like 3 hours and got home around 3:30 so was uptight from tonight had to unwind, so I played my last tourney game for week one (Nov.6-12), and she just called back so I decided to write this up while I talk. Sorry for all the misspellings or cap's.

(sportscenter music)

(voice in the background when showing clips....This week we had the high flying dunks, big men on campus talking about how big their rules are, #4 Syacuse taking on the Red Hot Texas Southern will they do be burned by them, Cincy drops in rank, Small schools on the rise, Monday's Conversation with Bob Huggins, and the player suprises from Dicky V, shake up after the first week for top 25 teams...Welcome this is SportsCenter)

(background saids week 1 College Basketball)

Dan: Welcome to SportsCenter, I am Dan and with me always is my man Stuart Scott.

Stuart: Lets get it off rolling as number 10 Cincinnati starts off the year against. Winning there last 38 home openers, could Valp. stop the streak. Early in the first half Maxiell also know as "Max" or "Min" from the cincy team gets the ball down low, does the nice spin move for the jam. A couple seconds later off of a steal a throw down by James White. On the next possession for Cincy, Nick Williams was open for three, and they never looked back for the rest of the game and coming out with the win, 84-63, and moves the streak to 39 now.

Dan: Moving on, but cincy will be back in the show for the other games and the confusing of the polls. Remember this is College Basketball. Next game is Alabama A&M vs. Birm.-Southern. Alabama A&M getting a new coach and lets watch as his debut is with his new team. A shot by a BSC player, misses, gets his own rebound, shoots again, misses, gets the ball back and again shoots this time making it. Coming down the other way AA&M misses but no one is crashing the boards as BSC grabs the rebounds and the win as they out rebounded AA&M 31-14.

Stuart: Moving on to Texas Southern, who is in the same conference as Alabama A&M was playing in the Coaches vs. Leukemia Classic as they take on BSC who got the win over AA&M. The game was over before it started as it looked like BSC wasn't recovered from the close win by AA&M as they constantly fouled sending the Tigers to the line 26 times making 24 of them. The Bench of TXSO got to play the second half of the game as they cruised to a 78-52 win.

Dan: Moving on to the Ivy League as Princeton took on Navy. Navy also getting a new coach behind the helm lead the new engerized team. This game was going back and forth, but with plays like this when off of a rebound grabbed by Ed Boyette and passes it up to Thor Collum for the easy 2 points off of the fast break. But with just under 2 minutes Princeton tames the fast break as the lead shrunk from 6, to end up with the final being Princeton 40-37.

Stuart: Back to one of the top 25 teams Cincinnati takes on the Northern Iowa. Lets try to narrow down just the dunks in this game as Cincy pulled away with another easy win, 71-50. Here is Maxiell with a two-handed slam, and another one this time and one handed dunk over there PF and SF. Kirkland was feeling a little left out so off on a steal throws it down with ease.

Dan: Staying with Cincinnati their next game was against Power School of the big 10 in Purdue. The only schooling Purdue got was how not to play team ball as Cincinnati comes away with another easy win 90-58. This time Cincy was tired of watching themselves on here dunking the ball so they decided to change the pace up to shoot three-pointers. Kirkland had 4. Lets cout them shall we? First was top of the key, next was down in the baseline wide open, next time opposite baseline but with a hand still drains the bottom of the net. Yes thats right that was only 3 and the last came off of a kick out rebound to seal the game with his fourth 3.

Stuart: Returning back to the Coaches Vs. Leukemia Classic, as Texas Southern takes on Mississippi St. for the second round. Mississippi St. use to be ranked but wasn't in the top 25 this year, and was shown why went the starters for the Tigers didn't even get to play one whole half, as the bench got to come in with a few minutes left in the first, kept the scoring alive, and started off the second half and only came out when they were tired. Tigers win this easly 90-66.

Dan: Ok, this time i will cover Alabama A&M and let you have a break Stuart. New coach and the only new coach so far to lose his opener looking to change that up in the second game. Remember how you said the rebounding was bad in the first game?

Stuart: Yea, and I forgot to mention horrible D too.

Dan: Yea well they heard you and said look at this rebounding, as they grabbed 25 boards same as Penn.

Stuart: Ohh, thats nice.

Dan: Yea and the D. Improved. As they walk away from Penn. without even breaking a sweat in a 69-52 victory.

Stuart: Well lets watch their next game against Niagra (1-0) and see if they break a sweat in this game. Ohh yes it looked like it did as there was 14 different lead changes and 8 ties for the game. But AA&M still came out on top with a 92-90 victory.

Dan: They were just saving there sweat for this game, thats all Stuart. Moving next to the Navy and Maryland-Baltimore County. And did this game look fimilar. Last minutes in the game and this time up by 8, but in favor of Maryland-Baltimore County. Easy win right? Wrong!

Stuart: ...

Dan: No Navy comes back from all that displine they learn and use the stamina from those drills in camp to steal away the win to become 1-1 on the year and gave the first win to new Coach Malcolm Payton.

Stuart: You didn't let me even answer?

Dan: Thats cause you took too long and the clip was almost over.

(Sunday Conversation)

Dan: Coach Huggins thanks for coming.

Huggins: Thanks for having me.

Dan: First off I would like to say congrats on starting the season 4-0. But how do you feel starting off 10 in the polls and then dropping to 22. Even after going undefeated so far.

Huggins: I don't know, and I am not really worried about it. Its going to change consently anyways since this year every school is tought even the small schools. TXSO beat down Mississippi St, and they use to be ranked.

Dan: Do you feel like College Basketball pulled a College Football Move and installed a BCS system?

Huggins: Ha, No! I am glad we don't have a system like that, and the good thing about it is, is that we have a tourney at the end to decide who is going to win it all, and trust me we will be in the tournment this year again.

Dan: Do you think you are cursed in the tournment?

Huggins: what does that mean?

Dan: Every year you make it, its sort of a gimmie now after winning or sharing the last 7 C-USA champions, but you always seem to lose in the first or second round.

Huggins: Well its just all bad luck. A couple of times we should of gone deep in the tournment, but we really haven't had that deep or a strong team. Only year was with Kenyon Martin Senior year and we all know what happen that year.

Dan: So are you saying this year's team is better than the rest and better in bench?

Huggins: Well i am not saying we are better than the teams in past, and on paper right now our bench is still not that impressive, but this team has played a lot with each other and right now everything is clicking so we are a better team than the past.

Dan: Getting a DUI this year, did that distract from your team at all, or did your players lose confidence in you?

Huggins: It was a stupid move on my part, and I done some stupid things in my life. But I'm not going to dwell on them or live in the past. As for the team goes, they haven't lost condifance and with our 4-0 record and how we are playing do you think it is a distraction.

Dan: Last question, is Cincy going to get to the Finals this year?

Huggins: We hope, we will know as soon as April comes around.

Stuart: Welcome back to the SportsCenter and now with us is Dicky V to tell us the suprises and the players to watch out for. Dicky V welcome.

Dicky V: Thanks Stuart and whoa was it a week of fantasic basketball, and this is just week 1. I know what everyone is talking about, how Duke is looking great, how kansas is up there, and all this big Schools are powerhouses this year, but let me tell you something we have a bunch of special little schools than are going to be making some noise here shortly with new Coaches. First off my Pick to win the Big Dance and all and its a team that has been unstoppable baby in the last 4 games. Yes thats right, you named it, Cincinnati. Right now they have the best team who is meshing good right now and have all the stars playing like stars. You have Maxiell playing huge in the post, then on the outside you have my new main to-go-to guys in Nick Williams and Armein Kirkland. These are two primetime players playing like stars in the spot light.
Now moving on to teams that are going to be tough for the big time schools who are just little schools no one hears about but have big hearts in the little towns. Right Now they are Navy, Texas Southern, Alabama A&M, Darkmouth, Grambling State, and last is Coppin State. Three of this small schools are in one Conference too. Watch out ACC, Big 10, Big 12, and Big East this might be the most exicitng and powerfull conference in the league and has someone of the smallest schools!!! I love these teams and they have some great players who I will get too soon enought, but I can't stop talking about these schools cause they are awesome baby!!! Texas Southern already off to a 2-0 start, while Navy and Alabama have 1 lost each. Best thing about these teams are that they all have new coaches, and are brillant coaches as it is.
Last are my favorite players. Of couse we have all-americans that we know, but what about these new guys or guys before who were just average. First off lets start with Cincinnati as i said before they have the Big man on Campus as in Maxiell who is playing like a 7'7" player. He is fabolous rihgt now for them. Also in the backcourt as my prime-time player is Armein Kirkland, who has been doing it all. Dunking the ball, shooting the J, then even moving out to the three-pointer, and not to mention how special he is to Cincy for his D. But the best Big Man-Point Guard in the country comes from the small school of Navy. Ed Boyette (PF) and Thor Collum (SG) is one of the best backcourts I've seen in years, and these young starletts are waiting to shine. My new up-and-coming player is Rickey Ricketts of Alabama A&M. Lets not leave that conference and go over to Texas Southern who has three young diaper-dandies in Michael Gary, Chris Harper, and Warren Bryant. Like I said this is a great conference to watch, but wait for them to start making some noise in the tournment, and I am not talking about the NIT either. Ohh Yea BABY this week was great and I can't wait til next week.

(Coming Soon)
Ok just got off the phone like 10 minutes ago and i just finished at 5:50 in the morning. since i have to be up at 8, i am going to sleep, but i will have up prime players stats and whatever else you guys give me info on to put up here. hopefully this was cool. if not i won't do it again, or let someone else take over.[/i]

Yeah, nice work. Although we (the Bearcats) beat Purdue 90-58. We just outscored them 63-32 in the second half. No biggie, keep up the good work and nice job on the Huggins conversation... :D

ok bearcats stat was changed. i saw that i didn't put my last 2 games in there so i say to screw that and not even worry about it. anyways if u checked my legacy out u already know i won but games as it was the coaches vs. cancer tourney. Moving on to players stats and stuff now.

If anyone wants to part-take in this little experment just send your stats to me on here or just start up a new post saying that, or just start a post about your legacy, i will get to it and read it so just have your players stats put there.

OK so far these are the legacys that are in this right now:
Texas Southern - CincyFan (Me) 4 games played
Cincinnati - marines_in_2005 4 games played
Long Island - BrianG 0
Navy - vandnbyriver5 2 games played
Alabama A&M - StixTax8992 3 games played

(games that was covered in sportscenter week 1)

i am not sure what time limit everyone is playing on, i know its not all the same so some people are going to have better stats than others...like i play 13 min halfs, while someone else only played like 8 min halves. Also the diffuiclt level..mine is on all-american (but also 2nd season in legacy...and thinking about bumping it up with the 2 easy wins) but some other people might be playing harder or easier. so don't get mad if you aren't in the top or whatnot. this is just something we thought would be cool, but don't worry i will give love to everyone.

Prime Time Player (Week 1):

Dicky V: It goes hands down to the young man who lit up the court with basketballs all over the place. From inside, to mid-range, turn-around J's, and lets not forget about the behind the line 3 pointer. This kid is asbolutely amazing as the first 2 games he was unstoppable. Maybe the teams he should be playing against should have 8 poeple on the court, maybe it would slow this kid down. His name and get use to it since he is going to be in the spotlight after this week is no other than my new main go to guy Rickey "Rocket" Ricketts.

2 games played:
88 points, 3 assists, 3 steals, 5 rebounds

Suprising Player of the Week:

Dicky V: Some poeple would get mad if I gave it to "Rocket" again, but come on baby, he is so exciting to watch. Since I can't give it to him again, its coming from Conference USA. Hands down, other than Rocket, is Armein Kirkland. This guy is unbelieveable. Come on, baby, you have to give love to this kid from Cincinnati. He has been the match for this team. He doesn't even start and is their leading scorer and in steals. He does it on both courts, and don't be suprised if you see this guy move up to the starter roll. He is the real deal baby!!

Best Team (Week 1):

Dicky V: I would love to give this to Cincinnati after they got cheated out of the polls. When we crush teams by at least 15, and win 4 straight, you are tops in my books, but unforturnatly their is a better team out there right now. Thats from the Southwestern Conference. They are probably one of the better Conferences in the league too with the upcoming of Alabama A&M, Grambling, and the Best team right now in Texas Southern. Thats right I said it the Southwestern Conference, not the Southeastern, is going to be a powerhouse this year. Texas Southern starting off the year 4-0 and having impressive wins in their season tournment to beat Mississippi St., Syracuse, and California. Ohh baby is this team rolling out of the gates quick. Lets see if they can do so in week 2.

ok thats all i think i have. if anyone wants me to add anything please tell me or, tell me what i need to take out if there is borning stuff. i was trying to get a friends ditigal camcorder, and acutally edit poeples names on the certain teams in legacy and then play it and then edit the tapes for certain plays so we could actually have a video for sportscenter, but right now i can't get it, and it would probably take up a lot of time that i really don't have. but if i do i will try to give it a shot, but no promises so don't get your hopes up. seriously give me some feedback on this...of what u like, what you don't like, and what i missed or should add. thanks and if i missed a legacy tell me to look at it and we will add u in. gl everyone in their legacys, play fair, peace i am out of here for now.

cool, that would help out a lot brian. i'll be waiting for u to get some games in then i will do the next week for sportscenter since i already played like 4 more games in mine. lol. i been on a videogame playing streak lately. But all the stats aren't really accurate right now since i was just going off of what people had. only ones is my team since i could actually look online and see what they were. if u have any ideas that i left out or anything u want to add go ahead and do it. it would be greatly apprecitated.

Just jump in and contribute. Good to have you here Champ.

Now someone else DID have Grambling but they haven't posted since Sunday. You might want a different team just to give the board variety. I originally had Alabama A&M but I switched when I saw someone else had them.

Looking Ahead with Jay Bilas

http://espn.go.com/i/columnists/bilas_jay_m.jpg

Bilas: This week there are a lot of interesting games on the schedule. Grambling will be taking on #12 Mississsippi State. Don't be surprised if the Tigers pull off the upset here. Miss. St. is the bigger school but whoever wins the battle of the boards will take this game.

Long Island travels to #23 Boston College. Look for E. Laurie to make some noise as he's been averaging 21 points a game this year. LIU has 2 sensational freshmen but BC is looking to move ahead in the polls. Whoever dictates the pace will win this game.

Ed Boyette looks to lead Navy past Morgan State. He's been playing outstanding basketball as of late and I look for him to have big numbers and lead his team to victory. These smaller schools are really having great years and that's a credit to the outstanding influx of coaches that have come in and shaken things up at their respective schools.

Speaking of shaking things up what can you say about Texas Southern? 7-0 and they have one of, if not the most, explosive players in America. They have knocked off several top teams and look to run through their conference.

Maxiell and James White are the reason Cincinatti is doing as well as they are. Both these guys come to play every game. Next on their plate is Detroit. I think this game will be a rout. No too many teams can match the athleticism and intensity the Bearcats bring.

Well that will do it for me. Be sure to tune in and watch these great games here on ESPN!!

nice touch on theupcoming games brianG that was a nice touch. umm for the stats u can either just post in your legacy (usually read everyone anyways to see how everyone is doing) or if u you can just email them to me, but i don't know if people want to waste all their time just email their stats. like i said i am only going off of what the people write in legacys, so those stats are inaccurate right now. but if people had the time or whatnot to write down most the stats, even if its just the starters and even the whole team that would work too. or if it makes it easier i can tell everyone when the next week is going to be posted for sportscenter and people can just send me there stats averages. whatever works and like i said i will be adding people too this, i.e. Champteezy now, and some others...i saw a tenn one and louisville and someone one else.

anyways this is just for fun, so people you don't have to play on a easy level just to improve your stats. I am playing on all-american, with 13 minutes, but since i am in my second year and i reshirted all my good people last year they are pretty decent now so i am thinking about moving up to MOP, but for the sliders i left everything the same. So far its been even but since the last 3 games i won at least by 25 I would like the games to be closer. i know some people are playing lesser time or do adjust the sliders for shooting. but most games i shoot around 47%-53% from the field cause i take long jumpers and 3's not just pounding it downlow, which i had the last couple of games. hope everyone is enjoying this and if your stats are not as accurate as they were listed just email them too me or just paste them on here. thanks and everyone enjoy and gl with there seasons.
