The following would be nice additions to next year’s game which would enhance the CREATED A TEAM feature:

#1 Allow the announcers to say the created teams names and nicknames during game play (similar to create coach/player) instead of "AWAY" or "HOME" team. There is an already comprehensive list of nicknames so adding a list of team names from the states and major cities would be a nice start. Moreover, hearing the name of the arena would also enhance realism.

#2 Allow the Created Team name and or nickname to appear on the home/away jerseys. For example, if a team was created called the "Slippery Rock" "Eagles" allow the user to choose which name appears on the home and or away jersey. Throw in a few different options for lettering (block, script, etc.) and placement of the name or nickname on the jersey (above number horizontally, around the number in an elliptical shape, etc...) and this feature would be most appreciated.

#3 Improve the logos/nicknames/mascots so that the correspond with one another. For example, the only logo that corresponds with a nickname and mascot is the pirates. Adding more logos and having mascots that actually correspond to them would be a nice addition. Furthermore, the color scheme is limited to the logo you choose. If a team was created with a color scheme of blue and gold and an arena matching those colors the choices of logos is limiting. Allowing the logo to adjust the color scheme of the team would be a nice addition.

#4 Allow the created team to be modified during a legacy. Allow for uniform color changes, mascot changes, arena, ect.....Maybe tie this into a larger scale legacy addition of allowing upgrades (larger arenas to improve revenues, etc....) but this may be asking too much.

These ideas seem like good ones to me but I would like to hear comments from other gamers on the subject.

I think those are good ideas, there was some other game I was playing, I think it was on the Dreamcast, where you could create a team and change colors on logos and stuff. I think having the announcers say the names might be hard though, they'd have to record tons of words.

Those are great ideas. I would hate to say it but it seems as if the create a school feature didn't have as much work put into it, unlike the rest of the game.

I've said it before and I can't speak for everyone but I think that the greatest challenge in the game is creating a team and then taking them to the elite level. Alright, there are a couple of important things to throw in here. The first is that when you create a school, the school should automatically be with the Independents. The other thing about this is that it would make scheduling tough because your team is not proven and it would make recruiting difficult as well for the same reason.

I second the ideas about the uniforms. We need to be able to put our team name or nickname on the front of our jersey. Not just a number. That looks ridiculous. And when I say ridiculous, I mean stupid. And when we choose a mascot, we definitely should be able to change the color of the mascot to correspond with our team colors. And I would again like to mention the fact that instead of changing the colors, we should have samples to choose from. And use a lot of colors. More than 16.

There should be some names that would be easy to pronounce. For example, the announcer should be able to pronounce "Wyoming State." There's nothing difficult about that. And while we are talking about pronouncing names, the name Hastings should be in the game. Please.

Keep going with the list buddy. Hopefully they'll listen to us.

Good call on independents, although I like the option of putting a new team anywhere. Maybe if you are coaching a school you create in the Independents for a few years and doing well a lesser conference can invite you to join. I think conference changes might be cool, but also maybe really hard to do. But at least schools moving out of independents into a small conference, that should be doable.

That's exactly my point. The team should have to move from the Independents to a smaller conference. I really don't think that an Independent team would jump from the conference right to a big conference.

It should be like EA's college football game. If you take a team from a weak conference and then be invited to join a larger conference. In my opinion, that was what made the game fun; taking a team that wasn't very good and then getting them to the caliber of the Big 12. I think that's what should happen with created teams in this game. Granted, I don't know if this game has the "invite a team into a conference feature" but I still think that it would be a nice idea.

let's just hope that they put more time into the created a school feature this year

does anyone know when they will start work on the new game and when they will start talking about the things that they have done to it???

I really like the idea of starting as an independent and being asked to join a conference. NCAA Football has it and now that it is happening in real life, the game should have it too.

I said it before, I think taking a created school from scratch and building them into a dynasty would be a tremendous challenge and one that a lot of gamers would look forward to. Putting the team in the indepedants creates more problems to get your team to the promised land. The thing that would be hard about it is that no one would want to play you for a while until you prove yourself. That would be a real challenge. It would also make recruiting a lot more difficult.

Don't you agree?

Very true, it'd be the ultimate difficulty level. You'd be trying to get into a lower-level conference or into the play-in game and go up from there. I think independent teams make it into the tourney occasionally, but not very often.
