SAINT FRANCIS RED FLASH
Loretto,PA-The Saint Francis Red Flash are looking to the 2004-2005 season as a ray of hope, as this could finally be "their" year to be the good one. They've moved out of the NEC, back to playing an independent schedule. Mostly local and regional teams dot the schedule this year, most of the "home and home" variety. In the opinion of this writer, they've got the schedule and the potential to go far. "I understand without a conference an NCAA bid is unlikely right now, but you know, NIT is a possibility, but most importantly, we just want to win right now." Coach Bobby Jones was quoted as saying in a press conference inside the lobby of the Stokes Athletic Center on the beautiful Saint Francis University campus in Loretto,Pennsylvania. Saint Francis last saw the glimmer of an NCAA Tournament in 1991.

Junior guard Darshan Luckey is going to be the one to lead the Flash into battle this season, as he provides the Flash a pure shooter, who was in the top of the NEC in scoring the past two seasons. Also playing roles this year will be JUCO transfer Garrett Farha, who is one of the best passers around. Sonny Benton provides an outside threat, while Jason Osbourne provides a huge body inside. Expect either Joey Goodson or Winston Robinson to take the 5th starting spot. The Flash will most likely go 8 or 8 deep, with John Krimmel and George Wright-Easy seeing the least time...Look for Krimmel in a clutch situation though, as he can shoot. Cale Nelson, the lone freshman, will redshirt this year.

Saint Francis plays host to Savannah State on November 10th at the Stokes Center to open the season. The game will be televised on WTAJ 10 in the area, as well as be broadcast on the Red Flash Radio Network.
