Dude, its in the paper manual...page 6(Default config). Also the in-game manual found under Extras. If you use any other config: PASS + SHOOT button.
Other factors come into play also: Dunk ratings, clear path to basket, etc...

it says L1 and Pass in the instruction manual...still cant get it to work and my team is full of dunkers....i guess im just retarded when it comes to this game :?

what about using the alt setting i use alt B and there isnt a shift trigger--anyone know how to alley hoop with the alt b settings? Thanks for the help in advance

press Shoot and Pass together (for alt or pro controllers)
one player has to be inside the paint.
it is much harder to pull alley hoop. in real ncaa, there are more crazy alley hoops than this game. This is a video game and they should have made alleyhoops much easier to trigger!
