Norfolk Va, the spartans annouced the hiring of former High school coach A.J. Williams-Parker as the new mens basketball coach. in a press confrence thta was held this morning, coach parker said that the people here in nolfork were so friendly and his goal for theam is to win the confrence

Norfolk state wins their first game of the season
Final Score Norfolk St 82 and Clevland St 78
in a game that almost went into overtime, the Spartans was able to win with ten second left in the game. Clevland State PG Richard Dees was called for 2 intenials fouls and both times Mack Frye was able to make the freethrows and put his team in the lead. with 8 seconds left . however the spartans get the win it doesn't matter, as long as they Keep it up

At halftime the score was tied at 38. Coach Parker told us that his team need to play better defense if they wanted the win. the second half they did just that. the spartans made history tonight they stole the ball from Savannah st 13 times in the 2nd half.

The spartans knew they wanted this win long before they even played this game. they wanted to impress the recuit who watched the game tonight. Hr school Senior Marvin Coombs. at halftime the score was 29 to 1 in favor of the Spartans. The Spartan can also thank their bench for playing such a huge role in this game. the bech accumated 40 points. Coach Parker told the reporters that Coombs enjoyed the game and he could see the potental that this team holds. he also said that Norfolk is the only school that offered him a scolorship and that Norfolk was his number one school.
