Cards Escape With a Win After Dogfight
Louisville, KY (AP)- Rick Pitino led his Louisville Cardinals into battle last night with the Sam Houston State Bearkats. In a game that was expected to be a cakewalk for #16 Louisville, the Bearkats played hard for the whole 40 minutes and lost barely 77-73. Coach Pitino was very frustrated so to speak with his Cardinals for taking poor shots. We have Missouri tommorow and hopefully we can play better and pick up another win.
Next Game: Missouri

Louisville, KY (AP)- In a highly expected Big 12 vs Conference USA showdown, the Louisville Cardinalshttp://images.sportsline.com/images/collegebasketball/logos/LOU.gif will take on the Missouri Tigers.http://images.sportsline.com/images/collegebasketball/logos/MO.gif
Louisville is coming off a slight win over Sam Houston State just one night ago. The only question for the Cardinals is can Francisco Garcia get his game together and lead the Cardinals to victory. Missouri's leading scorer Linas Kleiza will look to dominate this game like he did in their previous win last night. It should be an interesting night as both Louisvlle and Missouri look to stay undefeated for the season.

Cards a National Championship Contender?
Louisville, KY (AP)- In a game that was considered to be a game of the year candidate in some people's minds Louisville put it on Kentucky 89-71. Francisco Garcia came up big again with 22 points, but a shocking stat is he also recorded 4 blocks. After the game he responded with " This was one of the biggest games on our schedule, and I came ready to win. The points didn't matter as long as I did what I could to contribute".
Player Stats
Francisco Garcia: 22 points and 4 blocks

Cards Take Care of Eagles
Louisville, KY (AP)- The Louisville Cardinals began there three game week with a win over the Eagles of Morehead State. They won the game more than convincingly, but almost an embarassment to anybody associated with the Moreahead program. They beat the Golden Eagles 97-51 with the help of Francisco Garcia's 33 points and 7 rebounds.
Player Stats
Francisco Garcia: 33 points and 7 rebounds
Juan Palacios: 14 points and 4 rebounds
Lorenzo Wade: 9 points and 4 assists
Brad Gianiny: 9 points and 3 steals

Like I said Louisville has a 3 game week. This is what takes 75% of my time in my write-ups as well. Playing with the logos and stuff. Also the big center came and visited around campus as well. He is a four star player who has come down to Louisville or Air Force. He is currently leading toward Air Force. I have no recruting time this week, so I will try my hardest to bring him home to the Cardinals of Louisville.

Louisville Scores Season Low But Wins
Louisville, KY (AP)- Louisville hosted East Carolina last night in a game which the Cardinals were favored by a huge margin. The game was tied at half 32-32. At halftime Rick Pitino drilled hisp layers, because of not scoring enough points to go ahead of East Carolina. The Cardinals came out of halftime hot and won the game 64-58, but it poses to questions to Louisville fans. Was this because Francisco Garcia did not play, or was it because the offense has been exposed?
Player Stats:
Taquan Dean: 23 points, 6 assists, and 3 steals
Larry O'Bannon: 16 points and 2 steals
Lorenzo Wade: 8 points and 7 rebounds
Juan Palacios: 5 points and 10 rebounds
Ellis Myles: 4 points and 17 rebounds
NEW GAME BREAKDOWN
Jay Bilas: First of all I am impressed that Louisville was able to hold East Carolina to 58 point, but can they afford to sscore this low of points?
Digger Phelps: No, they cannot survive without scoring in the 70- 80's at least.
Random Guy: No they cannot, because if they do against (#13) Tennessee on Saturday it will be one ugly basketball game.
Jay Bilas: Was this offensive lack of performance, because of Francisco Garcia not playing?
Digger Phelps: No, Garcia would normally score 20-25 and that would knock off Taquan Dean's numbers and it would cancel out.
Random Guy: When you miss an All-American like Francisco Garcia you will not be able to score the same no matter what happens or who you play.
Jay Bilas: I think I speak for all when I say Louisville wil have to play much better to compete with the likes of (#13) Tennessee Saturday.

Louisville Rallies From 15 Point Defecit at Half
Louisville, KY (AP)- The home crowd had almost died down as Tennessee took an 18 point lead with 10 seconds left. Francisco Garcia then proceeded to drain a long 3 pointer to end the half down by 15 points. Louisville gradually chipped away at the Tennessee lead, and tied the game with 3 minutes to go. For 2 minutes the game went back and forth point wise until a Louisville 3 pointer by Taquan Dean, and a steal as well forced Tennessee to continue to foul until the game ended 101-93.
Player Stats:
Taquan Dean: 33 points, 6 assists, and 4 steals
Francisco Garcia: 20 points and 13 rebounds
Otis George: 12 points and 9 rebounds

The two players that I said I was close to committed have now changed Louisville to their 2nd school. I see a great chance at getting a ***** star small forward and a **** power forward from out of the United States. Should I do it? I don't think I can commit either one of the other two guys I mentioned though.

Cards Rally To Beat Marquette in 2nd Half
Louisville, KY (AP)- The Louisville Cardinals found themselves in a familar situation last night at halftime. They were down by double degits at the end of the first half. Louisville stormed out of the gates in the first half, and cut the lead to 5 points, and they traded baskets for a while before Francisco Garcia knocked down a three pointer off a Taquan Dean steal to make it a tie ballgame with about 5 minutes left. The game see-sawed like elementary school kids at recess. With 2 minutes to go Louisville took a 2 point lead, and went on to win 77-75.
Player Stats:
Francisco Garcia: 25 points and 4 assists
Taquan Dean: 13 points and 8 assists
Juan Palacios: 10 points and 11 rebounds
Ellis Myles: 10 points and 20 rebounds
Brian Johnson: 6 points and 5 rebounds

Cards Survive Halftime Scare From Green Wave
Louisville, KY (AP)- Tulane, one of Conference USA's worst teams in a lot of circles had Louisville on the ropes until an inbound play to a cutting Larry O'Bannon put the score 30-29 Louisville at the end of the first half. Rick Pitino however was one unhappy coach as he marched the Cardinals out of the locker room and to start the 2nd half on an 18-0 run. Francisco Garcia recorded his first career triple-double as well in the victory.
Player Stats:
Francisco Garcia: 23 points, 10 assists and 13 rebounds
Taquan Dean: 20 points and 7 assists
Larry O'Bannon: 18 points and 5 steals

Cincinnati Evens Up Season Series
Louisville, KY (AP)- The 8th ranked Bearcats came into Freedom Hall on a mission to evenge their loss at home against Rick Pitino's ballclub. The Bearcats really brought the fight to Louisville in the first half, despite being down by 3 points at half. Louisville had the lead late, and played it safe by running down the shot clock, and trying to create shots. That however did not work and handed Louisville their 2nd loss of the season. Cicninnati defeated the Cards 73-67 when all was set and done.
Player Stats:
Ellis Myles: 20 points, 3 blocks, and 12 rebounds
Francisco Garcia: 13 points and 7 steals

Cardinals Bounce Back With Blowout
Louisville, KY (AP)- Rick Pitino had his Cardinals in top shape after the huge loss to Cincinnati at home. UAB never got anything started in the 2nd half and were routed 102-84 by the nation's #2 team in the country. Francisco Garcia had 32 points and 7 rebounds to lead the Cardinals. The Blazers really had no chance to score in the 2nd half, because Francisco Garcia had 25 of his 32 in the 2nd half. Coach Pitino said "It is a great win to get our confidence back to get ready for a rough month of basketball before the Big Dance in March".
Player Stats:
Francisco Garcia: 32 points and 7 rebounds
Larry O'Bannon: 25 points and 4 steals
Taquan Dean: 13 points and 6 assists

Cards Escape With Win Over Tigers
Louisville, KY (AP)- The #1 Louisville Cardinals proved why they were #1 tonight by defeating a tough Memphis team 67-61 in a defensive game. Louisville came out swinging in the 2nd half to start a 10-0 run. Memphis soon chipped away at the Louisville lead until with 3 minutes left Sean Baks drained a 3 pointer to tie the game. Louisville came up clutch as they played solid basketball on both ends of the floors to beat the Memphis Tigers 67-61 in a hard fought game.
Player Stats:

Francisco Garcia Strikes Again!
Louisville, KY (AP)- The South Florida Bulls came into Freedom Hall knowing that Louisville was ranked #1 in the country, but I don't believe that stuck in. Louisville absolutely dominated South Florida in every category. Even on the boards both Francisco Garcia and Ellis Myles combined for 20 rebounds. Juan Palacios was very limited on the boards. Louisville poinded the South Florida Bulls 92-75 behind Francisco Garcia's 22 points, 4 steals, and 9 rebounds.
Player Stats:
Francisco Garcia: 22 points, 4 steals, and 9 rebounds
Juan Palacios: 15 points and 6 rebounds

Cards Fall to Golden Eagles On Road
Louisville, KY (AP)- The Louisville Cardinals came into Marquette as the #1 team in the nation. They were not warmly welcomed as Marquette jumped on Louisville early 10-0 and never looked back. Francisco Garcia had 40 points, but that was still not enough as the #1 Louisville Cardinals fell to the Golden Eagles of Marquette 98-81. On another negative note Taquan Dean was injured late in the second half and examined in the locker room. The tests were negative and Dean only has a sprained ankle. However he will miss a game against St Louis.
Player Stats:
Francisco Garcia: 40 points and 10 assists
Taquan Dean: 19 points and 4 assists
Ellis Myles: 10 points and 10 rebounds
Larry O'Bannon: 4 points and 2 steals
Juan Palacios: 2 points and 9 rebounds

Louisville, KY (AP)- Without Taquan Dean Louisville was considered to still be a favorite, but the Cards showed the world the talent that they have on the roster. Louisville took the St Louis Billikens to the house 87-64 in a game where who else scored 32 points and dished 4 assists. With just 3 games left until the Conference USA tournament, Louisville will look to win out, and secure a #1 seed in the upcoming NCAA tournament.t at home against St Louis.
