How's this one:
When will Kansas beat a ranked opponent for the first time in 13 months and in Bill Self's tenure?
Why is this team ranked #2?
Jayhawks went 0-8 verse ranked opponents last year with extra embarassing losses to Richmond, Nevada, ISU and Neb.
So why would the same pathetic and heartless bunch be hyped as an Elite team when nothing they've suggests that they are?
Discuss.

hey I'm a Kansas fan but those numbers speak volumes; however players are now use to Bill's system and all r players r healthy this year a very different outcome

same reason UNC returns with all their players and was considered instantly elite (which they are), one more year for their players to learn, one more year to get used to their new head coach

i don't know why. But they will still be ranked #2 or #1 until 2005 when they play a real opponent- georgia tech. they got a lot of easy games on their schedule early in the season.

Hey guys, the polls are still forming, its still early. Everyone knows the preseason polls don't mean jack. The polls don't really tell the tale of how good the teams are until mid Jan. IMO a lot of the teams in the top 25 are over ranked, actually, I will list wich ones:
1 Illinois (35) 9-0 - Very Strong team this year, Got a shot.
2 Kansas (22) 6-0 - Way too high of a ranking for this squad.
3 Georgia Tech (12) 6-0 - Should be in the #2 slot.
4 Oklahoma State (3) 7-0 - Right were they should be.
5 North Carolina 7-1 -Way, Way too high for this team this early.
6 Wake Forest 7-1 -Are you joking, #3.
7 Duke 7-0 LMFAO - just cause your duke, don't mean crap, way to high.
8 Syracuse 8-1 -Move 'em down.
9 Kentucky 6-1 -Move 'em down.
10 Pittsburgh 7-0 -Put 'em a little higher boys.
11 Connecticut 4-1 - And your here cause, why???
12 North Carolina State 7-0 -Up the ladder you go boys!
13 Louisville 6-1 - This makes me laugh uncontrolably- way to low.
14 Texas 6-1 - Oh yeah, bush is still in office.
15 Arizona 6-2 - Sorry Lute, not this year.
16 Iowa 8-1 - Maybe a couple higher.
17 Alabama 8-1 - Can't tell yet. If like last year, to low.
18 Washington 7-1 -My ST., but over rated, will fall soon.
19 George Washington 6-1 - they are for real, a little higher please.
20 Mississippi State 8-2 -right were they should be.
21 Michigan State 5-2 - get out a here.
22 Gonzaga 7-1 - YOU DONT DERSERVE TO BE HERE EITHER.
23 Maryland 5-2 - Don't know crap about em.
24 Virginia 7-1 -ACC bullcrap again.
25 Cincinnati 6-0 - why are they last on this list, way, way up guys.
Were is Marquette & Boston College, I don't know how these teams are not on here and some others are. And yes even though I live in spokane WA, and i do love the Gonzaga Bulldogs, they don't deserve to be on that list. Not after how they played against Idaho, and WSU. What a young inexperianced team we got this year. Hopefully they will be stronger next year. I have no expectations for them this year in the tourney.
Tell me what you think of my debacle of your favorite school.

Ok, yes we lost to santa clara, but I don't see the reasoning behind your judgments
1. We win the Maui Invitational, playing 6000 miles away, we beat BYU, Tennessee (who beat Louisville, your sleeper squad) and Iowa
2. We go to one of the most storied programs in college basketball history (who almost beat UConn at UConn) and win there
3. We play a top 10 team and beat em by double digits
4. We play an easy team and absolutely demolish them
As for Duke, I'd like to see them lose one spot each week, cuz they play cupcake teams, the whole time, the only top 25 team they played was MSU, and they havent played anyone whos beaten a top 25 team either,
LOOK AT THEIR NON CONFERENCE SCHEDULE, they don't play one non conference team on the road, they play at home or at neutral, the only close one they play is St. Johns at New York but not officially at St. Johns its at some arena near there.
Illinois- Real Deal
Kansas- Real Deal
GT- Real Deal
NCSU- Real Deal
UNC- Real Deal
WF- maybe....
Pittsburgh-Real Deal
Iowa- Real Deal
Cincinatti- Real Deal
Louisville- Not entirely convinced
Duke- No way, I think they should be rated #23
Virginia- Could surprise ppl

krzyzewskisucks- Yes I will give you all of that, I am in no means saying that they suck, or are they a bad team, my whole deal is, how can they be ranked above NC ST. I would but NC ST in there spot the #5, and move them down one to #6. I just dont see them as #1 or #2 Contender this year. But I could be wrong, i am only human.

I dont think UNC should be 1 or 2, I think 5-7 is a good place for them right now.
Y are we ahead of NC ST? Who has NC St. played? While playing Purdue, Manhattan, New Orleans, Campbell etc. is fine and dandy, dont expect to jump up
