When making nba 2k6, start from the very well polished CHoops engine and build from there.
The CHoops engine has fixed alot of problems that NBA 2k5 has.
Like:
1. The cpu in CHoops is smart enough to realize that when the defense gets back on the fastbreak, the normal thing to do is pull it out and run the offense(instead of just continuing to run into the defender right infront of him ,until he gets close enough to hops step and lay it up,like in NBA 2k5).
2.Fouls!!!!!! There are plenty of fouls called in CHoops. They call fouls on the body to body mid air collition layups and shots when the player is standing under the basket(which they never call in NBA 2k5)
3. Cpu running the offense right!. In CHoops, on the hardest level, the cpu actually plays smarter and is much harder to beat(unlike NBA 2k5,where on HOF,all you have to do is wait for the cpu to throw a silly cross court pass or try to pass in the paint with 3 guys in the middle)
4. The dunks even look smoother in CHoops. they tweeked the same terrible dunks from 2k4 even more(which shouldnt even be in the game anyway) and made them look pretty good.
5. More attributes!!!!! In CHoops, you can actually edit the players clutch factor and it has more attributs than NBA 2k5. They best attribute of all in CHoops is the Shot Aggressivness rating(same has Live's Pri macy) where you can control who is taking the most shots on the team(In NBA 2k5, any good 3pt shooter, whether it ne miller, hoiberg, welsh, wally etc., will shoot the ball every ti e they get it on Hof mode which really ruins the offense)
A couple of problems still exist in Choops(which really need to be fixed):
1. The fadeaway jumpshot from the post still gets blocked every time.
2. The spin of your man move while in the post still doesnt work!
3. If you are post on the wing, you still are able to shoot hook shoots from almost near the freethrow line(there should be a different shot animation once you get out of the low post area)
Again, when you start the developement of 2k6,start from the engine of Choops 2k5( it plays much smoother than NBA 2k5)
