Any team that is a former Bill Self team usually does better for a few years after he leaves. So Illinois has a chance. But they did not kill Mizzou like I thought, so that tells me they are beatable.

If I were you all, I would keep my eye on the current #3 team in the nation right now. Even though they are #3, they are not being talked about, yet this is the best team they have ever had. They have not had a close game yet, unlike most of the top 25 teams. They play #13 Gonzaga next week...should be interesting.

Theres all this hype about Illinois due to the beatdown they gave Wake Forest, but Wake Forest hasn't looked impressive lately either, I don't see any of them winning the tourney.

Mizzou isn't a good team, and isn't half the team UNC is. But regaurding your question on why everyone picks their team...it is because they are homers. Some I can understand, because they are actually a good team, while others are just stupid.

For me, I will stick by my Cowboys, because they really do have a shot at it, and anyone who doubts that needs to watch basketball more.

I challenge you to show me a national championship team that won every game by 10+ points.

I do love the Illini but I don't think they'll win because I'm expecting the worse. If they win the championship, I'm definitely happy. I'm from Illinois and I'm still behind them. I have a problem though. See, if Illinois plays Duke, they may lose only because Duke usually has seven players on the court at the same time. UNC is a rough type of team and I'm very curious to see how well they play with them kats. Oh, this game is just so beautiful....

Ok, so the Illini have one of the two best backcourts. You can't really say that UNC's is better. Likewise, I can't say the Illini's is better, but they do have a better record this season.

I'm not hating on the Illini, its not like we're rivals are anything, theyre a great team, but believe it or not, the best team isn't always the one who wins it. Everyone here knows I am a big UNC fan, but last year Dook was the best team in the NCAA, but they made some errors in the Final 4, and they lost the chance to claim the title. UConn did what it had to do, and Dook didn't. everyone will have their Santa Clara's, but heck, the way UNC has been playing they look like they could wipe the floor with Illinois.

Moral of the story:
You can't rely on Talent alone

In the Illinois and Cinncinatti game the refs sucked they made terrible calls.

and i am an Illini fan but i dont think they will the national championship

and most likely no one will go with a perfect record and when UNC lost to Santa Clara i was schocked but north carolina is a good team and i think they will make the final four.

I also want to see Illinois and North Carolina play this year.
