Allow us to modify team jerseys, for example, if i have the new york knicks in franchise mode and i want to change the team colors from white, blue, and orange to black, nay blue, and crimson red i should be able to do that. the log stays the same but the color changes and the teams colors and the jersey's design can be changed.

Also I should be able to relocate a team (this requires money of course) and create a new arena, for example say i have the new jersey nets in franchise mode and i want to move them to brooklyn, now they will be called the brooklyn nets and have a new arena by my design along with a new location. The relocation would take place the following season, say i decide to relocate them in the 2003-2004 season, i would make the arena, jerseys, select the city (you should be able to type in the city), and state (you should have all 50 states) while in the 2003-2004 season, but you will not see the new arena, jerseys, and city, state change until the 2004-2005 season. You should also be able to name the arena as well.

that's the sickest thing i ever heard. some teams got nasty colors all u would do is just make them look better and get teams in weak cities better ones

Great idea. This would be the perfect thing for the franchise mode!! 8)

Maybe they could add things like upgrades to your arena and money instead of credits :?:

Yeah, if they could make it exactly like the owner mode in Madden in anyway possible, that would be sick! My dream of moving the Lakers to San Diego could finally be realized!!!

I hope they read these forums because they really just need to follow madden like everyone else is saying too.

Great idea... Maybe ESPN should make an owner mode where they do the same thing as EA's Madden but add better features like:

Cut down on pay roll
Relocate to another place in a certain location.. Like if they are in New York, relocate to New York city or move to Toronto :D :D :D

Also different uniform designs and different fonts for the name on the uniform like if you want the magic to relocate to brooklyn new york, you can put the team city name on the uniform and make the font a freestyle type script. Use the font choices that are in Microsoft Word.

Honestly, that Idea is Hot Sauce (meaning: good). Then I can Move the LA Clippers to New York(LOL!) and make them transfer Divisions! That would be hot sauce if not only you can change the JERSEY, LOCATION, STADIUM, and their DIVISION, but change their ON-COURT APPEARANCE. Meaning like the players wearing team headbands, etc, and equipping them with TEAM SNEAKERS! Now tell me, wouldn't that add spice and competition to LIVE?

With 100 percent of the people who voted in favor of this feature it's time for SEGA to add it.

While I think this is an appealing idea, given the amount of other, more important issues that need to be fixed, I can imagine other features in the Franchise mode that have a greater urgency than providing cosmetic options for your team's uniforms.

For one, unlike the NFL, it seems like in the NBA, a relocation really doesn't mean all that much. The arenas are all reasonably alike, you never get to see the outside city, weather is never a concern etc etc.

Ive never heard this before! Not even in Madden!

No, but seriously it really should be included in the game, it makes Madden 100 times better.

I agree, just copy Madden's owner mode. That way theyll have more time to work on more important improvements.

No it should be better than madden, not only can we change the color and design of the uniform, but we should also be able to design the look we want, ex: if we want it to have a shiny or glossy look then we should be able to do it. The arena should offer much more than madden can.

I am with you on this new Franchise mode, and agree that changing team colours/fonts would rock and hopefully not add too much taxation on any system processor to work.

However I think that changing/creating a new arena is fairly pointless. How many times can you stop to check out the surrounds whilst you play, and like someone previously mentioned, there are no external factors to make changing an arena worth while.

Perhaps just allowing expansion and contraction of the league in Franchise mode would be enough.

And perhaps linking more of the other play formats into Franchise mode would be a bonus. You know like taking your 2010 Bulls out to the courts to challenge the 90s All-Stars. Or taking your 24/7 baller to The Show !

can anyone say if you can switch franchise during Franchise mode in Madden ? I think its an overlooked aspect on ESPN. I found after building up my franchise for 5 years I got bored with them and wanted a new challenge. But in doing so meant selecting a new Franchise mode and erasing all those players I had drafted/developed. Anyone with me on this one ?

I have to admit that I enjoy the Franchise mode in Madden, other than the fact that I had to send my disk back because it wasn't recognizing my NCAA 2004 Draft classes.

I like the idea of controlling all aspects of the Franchise. I think that there should also be the ability to amend and improve the arena facilities such as the practice facilities, etc. in order to impact player stats, the ability to sign FA's and such

Modifying uniforms is hunky dory in that vein as well, but not a deal breaker for me

To label76

a new arena makes more fans want to come and see it making it so more tickets will be sold with less advertisement

One more thing, efftop has a pretty good franchise idea they should combine this one and that one

Espnballer15,

If ESPN were to include a franchise mode as deep as to include managerial aspects of managing a basketball franchise, then there are far more important aspects to consider before custom uniforms and custom arenas should be a priority for the ESPN NBA development team.

You are entirely right, of course. New arenas do attract attention and excitement to the team. But for instance, what is the difference between user customized arenas vs the game providing an option to "renovate" the arena ? The game could still register the change as 'excitement generating', would still cost money for the franchise owner and would have the same overall effects without necessitating the added complexity.

NBA arenas aren't like NFL arenas where they determine between grass/turf, bowl/dome, seating arrangements etc. NBA arenas are typically a lower bowl and upper bowl separated by a box level. The seating blocks are somewhat different but not drastically so.

Quite frankly, the complexity of providing a user with custom arenas when most basketball arenas are relatively similar is just unnecessary work. The development time that would be needed would be better off giving us a solid managerial NBA franchise model first.

Custom uniforms are quite the same. The end solution would be that the custom options wouldn't be quite satisfying to most people. The level to which customization can take place is limited.

Color swaps are relatively easy. The texture color can just change a little. But other elements... well, in the end, maybe you have a half dozen font choices... maybe a half dozen hella ugly uniform deisgns ... to complement the dozen logos that we have for custom teams. I mean, look at the custom team uniforms in ESPN NBA right now. Most of them are hideous... changing their colors would do little to make them better and providing me with more ugly uniform choices would likewise do liitle to make me happy.

RELAX man, its okay, if they can do it well then they will, if they let the game lag whenever they add a new feature then they don't need to make anymore bball games because their stupid or they are purposely doing that so people can buy the next series, either way ****es me off, so sega if you don't make this feature right hire new staff.

basically madden 2004's owner mode with more options

after they perfect the gameplay for next year then they can add all this

they should make the game but only the simulation part then start testing it and perfecting it while slowly adding all the other options
