Is it a possiblity to have inelgible players for 2005. For instance, when you're recruiting players throughout the year...could there be tidbits relating to the player such as..."May need a full-time tutor to stay elgible", or "Doesn't like to attend class, but is a great athlete". These could help show the risk/reward of these recruits. And maybe an athlete of this caliber may only be inelgible during the first semester...and they become elgible in time for your team to make their run at greatness in March.
It shouldn't all be negative...I feel that tidbits on the players recruiting card could also reflect additional positive things about the player too.
Such as, "He's a coach on the floor, what a playmaker" or maybe "Sound the air raid ...he's a 3 point bomber". Or maybe, "He's covered in glitter...and ready to shine".... or, "He's the kind of kid you wanna call son".
These things are somewhat exaggerated..sorry I went on a tangent..but, this would certainly help our assistant coaches, and us as coaches in our legacy recruiting wars. And let's face it...inelgibility is prominent on every campus across America. And every coach/asst. coach deals with it. So, it shouldn't be frowned upon by the NCAA..if this topic comes up.
It's reality..and reality includes the good, the bad, and the ugly. My imput is only on behalf of bball gamers across America...we all want the most authentic game possible...right?
