The recruit has to be highly interested in your school first of all. That means that you cannot have a weak recruiting attribute as a coach at a sorry school

I have the same questions as systo. I can't seem to recruit anybody. I send them emails and I even had my coach go visit them. But how do I get them to come to my campus? By the way the people I am trying to recruit are very interested in my school.

call them everyone week, visiting them and scout their games until you reveal all their talents and potential. Once you are in their top 5, and you have enough free time for all 3 coaches, they should be able to visit campus. i haven't always been able to get them to come to campus but thats the best way I have seen of actually doing that. Even after you give an offer, continue to call them.
You have to be smart though. If you start in the 'career' mode with one of the lesser teams, don't expect to get any 4 or 5 star players for a couple years. Work on getting all 2s, then a 3 and 2s and then all 3s, and so on.
If yo start in 'open' mode (you can pick whatever team you want), then it shouldn't matter who you recruit as you'll prolly pick a national known team.
Good luck

Oh, that is what open mode means. Thanks a lot man. I have a lesser team but a couple of 5 star players are interested in me. I have already offered them a scholarship. So all I have to do is keep calling them every week? The signing period just ended though. So now I have to wait until the off-season?

yes, you'll have to wait til the off season before they would sign. but if they have an offer from a big time school, your chances of him coming to you aren't good.

Yeah the 5 star guy dropped out on me so all I have left is a pretty good 3 star guy. He is really interested. He has visited our campus and I am the only scholarship he is looking at right now. Can you awnser another question? How do I get my creted playe and school into the Legacy mode?

haven't tried that with this years game, but i imagine it would be when you chose your team in legacy mode. There should be a button to load team. As for players I am not sure.

I try to target the players in my area and stay from the national players.

Yeah, recruiting in your first few years in career mode are tough. I'm presently in my third season at Albany. We've won our conference championship both previous seasons and made it to the Sweet Sixteen last year. Essentially, what you have to do is increase your recruiting skill to A+ after your first season. Get players that will make an immediate impact in your program, starters or at least strong bench guys, then play all the important games yourself. By actually playing the games, rather than simming, you'll really find your team's strengths and weaknesses and be a more informed recruiter because of it. For instance, if you like your sophmore or junior shooting guard but aren't happy with your post players, don't waste all your time going after that four or five star shooting guard from your home state. Even if you get him, you'll bench the player you were happy with and have fewer quality recruits in other positions. Instead, use your valuable recruiting time to find that three star post guy who will accept a scholarship early in the year so that you can concentrate on practicing with your team rather than being on a plane to see a four star guy somewhere in the middle of Idaho who has you in his top five. Why would a guy from Idaho want to go to Albany?
By concentrating on the immediate needs of your program, rather than trying to get the best players for status or to build a long term program, you'll win games and be in a position to take a job at a bigger school sooner. I'm trying to get a job offer in the Atlantic 10 or the ACC. I'm also scheduling games against teams in these conferences. It helps with recruiting in the area and it gives me respect amongst these conferences.
Good luck everybody.
