Thinking of buying this one

I have Madden 2004 and was thinking of buying ESPN NFL too. Can you guys recommend this one? also do you like the first person mode or is it just a gimmic? I heard some who are impressed by it. Also how's the online games? A lot of peeps running Cheese plays and pulling the plug? Anyone have both and can offer a comparison?

I'd recommend this game. I haven't really given First Person Mode a chance, but I really like the Crib. Online games are pretty smooth. As for cheesers, you'll run into your share of cheesers but you'll also play some straight up guys.

If you are disappointed in this years Madden like I was, ESPN will blow you away. I don't know if I'll ever go back to Madden. The public rooms are about like Madden, hit and miss whether or not you'll get a straight opponent. Pulling is just as bad as Madden. The things I like about ESPN that Madden doesn't offer is the league set up. Currently all I play is league ball. The drops don't seem to be as bad with only 2 players in a room and you know your opponent won't quit. I hate wasting time more than anything. Last but not least, ESPN is easier but more playable. The gameplay is the best out there. Madden is an unrealistic turnoverfest and just frustrates the heck outta me. Madden seems to be a game of luck with the person who gets fewer fumbles and hits the most money plays winning. You can outplay your opponent and still lose from things that are outta your control. Just my opinion.
