Its is another forum and it seems fun

You say two people and someone replies who's better and why, then that person writes another 2 other people and so on........ also do not criticize or comment on other people's picks (pm them if you want) just answer the new question and post your own

Ill Start

Amare Stoudemire or Kenyon Martin

Lebron James or Carmelo Anthony
LeBron -- but both are dynamite, LeBron is just more both now and in the future

Let's test the skills of the board members

Adrian Dantley or Mark Aguirre

TheGameShutDown
January 23rd, 2004, 05:23 PM
Adrian Dantley, the most underrated player in the history of the NBA. As an undersized shooting guard, he averaged 30 ppg for three straight seasons. Aguire was good, in fact they were traded for each other, but Dantley is top 50 in my mind.

Gary Payton 1995-96 or Jason Kidd present-day?

Blackwiz

Kobe Bryant(Prime) or Paul Pierce(Prime)

bomber, wat u doin............u skipped one :?

og15
January 23rd, 2004, 05:40 PM
Gary Payton, he was a better scorer, and a better defender, never average double digits in assists though

Kobe Bryant, he has a more complete game, and he is very good down the stretch, so is Pierce, but Kobe shoots a better percentage.

Carlos Arroyo or Raul Lopez

ludacris06

Carlos Arroyo or Raul Lopez

Carlos Arroyo man. He was killin before he had that injury. I haven't even herd that much of him after the injury. Whos Raul Lopez?

Starbury / J Kidd

Blackwiz
January 23rd, 2004, 06:25 PM
Starbury / J Kidd

too easy, J.Kidd, he has lead the sorry Nets to the Finals twice in a row, he made players around him better, Starbury may be somewhat as good, but he's definitely not as good, but he has a better shot than j.kidd

Kevin Garnett or Jermaine O'Neal

TheGameShutDown
January 23rd, 2004, 07:08 PM
Kevin Garnett. O'Neal's just one step below him in all aspects the way I see it, except maybe post moves.

Isiah Thomas or John Stockton

Isiah has 2 rings and John has none. My pick is Isiah.

Ray Allen / Vince Carter

Ray Allen gotta better shot and VC has just been injured to much for him to win

Ray Allen

T-Mac or Iverson

TheGameShutDown
January 23rd, 2004, 07:57 PM
They're two totally different players but I'd have to take T-Mac. Give him a better supporting cast, maybe one like Iverson's, and they'd be high in the East.

Kevin Johnson or Mark Jackson

og15
January 23rd, 2004, 10:12 PM
Kevin Johnson, he was such a high percentage shooter, and a great scorr and passer.

The Baron or Steve Francis

Blazers_30
January 24th, 2004, 05:01 AM
Steve Francis, he's a better passer and has better vision as a PG.

Eddie Jones or Allan Houston

lllllll23lllllll
January 24th, 2004, 05:54 AM
I gotta roll with Eddie Jones on this one. Hes a better defensive player who can make the perimeter shot and drive to the basket with effectiveness. Houston shoots a higher percentage from beyond the arc and when hes hot hes deadly. But i like defense first and Jones has that.

Jamal Mashburn or Glenn Robinson

*23*

TheGameShutDown
January 24th, 2004, 08:47 AM
Mashburn. He can shoot almost as good as Robinson, but also has more to his game. Robinson seems more like a shooter while Monster Mash can get to the lane, using his height advantage and quickness. He's better athlete in my opinion.

Wilt Chamberlain or Bill Russell

og15
January 24th, 2004, 09:19 AM
Im going with Wilt, the man was just a beast and very dominating, yea Russel was a good defensed and also a great rebounder and player, but Wilt was a much better offensive players and they were both adequate passers

Big O (Oscar Robertson) or Magic Johnson

January 24th, 2004, 09:27 AM
Big O (Oscar Robertson) or Magic Johnson

gotta go wit Magic Johnson, he just.......well, he's Magic Johnson.....not to take anything from Big O, but it gotta to to Magic.

Michael Jordan(Wizards) or Kobe Bryant(last season)

TheGameShutDown
January 24th, 2004, 11:03 AM
As good as MJ was, lets not get carried away. Kobe owned tore it up last season. I loved watching MJ play, the pumpfakes, the fadeaways, the swat on Nicky V, but he still wasn't the same. He was great, but just not the same. MJ on the Bulls annilhates Kobe but MJ on the Wizards loses by a little.

Patrick Ewing or David Robinson....

lllllll23lllllll
January 24th, 2004, 11:24 AM
Im gonna roll with The Admiral on this one. He missed his first two years due to military service and he still managed to put up heavy numbers in his career. Robinson shot a higher percentage from the field where as Ewing shot too much. Both were dominate in the post but Robinson has an edge over Ewing with the DEE. Both were great shot blockers but Robinson's shot blocking numbers are only off by a little minus those two seasons. Ewing only had one 300+ shot blocking season compared to Robinson's three. Robinson also had a couple of 1000+ rebounding seasons also which Ewing never had, but thats largely due to players like Oakley and others that he played with who were great rebounders also. But most importantly is that Robinson was a champion and perhaps maybe the greatest role model this game has ever had!

Chris Webber/ Dirk Nowitzki

og15
January 24th, 2004, 12:38 PM
Webber, its real close because C-Webb is injured all the time, but Webber is a much better all round player and can actually play defense.

Eric Snow or Jamaal Tinsley

Brankles
January 24th, 2004, 01:46 PM
Eric Snow...

Jamaal was lookin like he was gonna be an All-Star, but he kinda dwindled out of the spotlight...

And Eric Snow is the 2nd most underrated PG in the league, next to Sam Cassell...

Shawn Bradley or Gheorge Muresean

Shawn Bradley cause hes still in the NBA.

Brian Scalabrine or Robert Archibald

og15
January 24th, 2004, 10:23 PM
Brian Scalabrine, both pretty insignificant players, but Scalabrine is a better offensive player even though Archibald has more hustle.

Jerry Stackhouse or Correy Maggette

g-unit80744
January 25th, 2004, 06:36 AM
Corey Maggette sice he's in the prime of his carrer and Stackhouse has missed most of this season.

Ray Allen or Michael Finley

TheGameShutDown
January 25th, 2004, 09:34 AM
Ray Allen. The second best three point shooter in the L. He's missed most of the season, but he's been playing like an all-star since he came back.

Michael Jordan 1984-1985 or Michael Jordan 1997-1998

og15
January 25th, 2004, 09:35 AM
Ray Allen, he's a better shooter and has become a pretty good passer, he's also a little younger than Finley, but doesn't have the D.

Ahh that's hard

I'll go with 1997-1998, he wasn't as atheletic anymore, but he was a smarter player, and he won a championship

Kenny Thomas or Drew Gooden

By the way, Tommy, Barkley never won a ring either.

Anyways, how about this one:

Alex English or Reggie Miller

TheGameShutDown
January 29th, 2004, 01:40 PM
Alex. He had a better all around game. Reggie made a living running off screens whille Alex could do much more than that.

For Sax:

Horni was better. He was an all-star once if I remember correctly. Pax gets a lot of recognition for only hitting a few big threes.

Chuck Person. If I remember correctly, he was the man for a few years in Indiana. Hodge was a great shooter, but he's only more known than Chuck because of his three point shooting.

I'd have to take Cedric Ceballos on this one. J.R. had the chance to be great but he messed up his life with drugs. Ceballos was on the lost Lakers, post-Showtime, pre-Shaq/Kobe and he, along with Nicky V and Divac got them to the playoffs.

BTW, Wiz you're supposed to say why. Shawn Kemp owns Jermaine and everyone who has seen him play actually knows that.

Hornacek, Kerr was so one dimensional it wasn't even funny. Hornacek played 19.5 mpg his first season and averaged 5.3 ppg, 2.3 rpg, and 4.5 apg

Kerr played 21.3 mpg his second season and averaged 6.7 ppg, 1.3 rpg, and 3.2 apg. At least he had his highest assist average year then, and also only had 0.95 turnovers per game. (Hornacek had 1.9 per game)

I really dont like Duke! Im gonna have to go with Traj cause of what he accomplished and his duration at Duke. Redick actually had a better rookie season statistically and was actually compared to Stanford All-American Casey Jacobsen with "better athleticism" at the time. Redick was a better FT shooter also. Both were deadly from the perimeter (especially 3pt land) and from the stripe. Traj was a 1st Team All-American by Chevy Silverado and NABC in his final season. He made 2nd team by USBWA, AP, and TSN also that year. He was also part of '98 USABW championship team. ACC 1st Team also!! Not to mention he was part of the 95-96 USABJW championship team the year he was a medical redshirt. J.J. is just a nickname cause he was born Jonathan Clay Redick in Cookeville, Tenn. His dad played basketball two seasons at Ohio Wesleyan. His father's background as a stoneware potter led to the middle name "Clay."

Man alcstarheel it looks as if you beat me to it. Well i'll just leave my answer and answer yours. Im gonna roll with Bibby cause of his scoring and determination he showed me in the Playoffs in the previous years. I like what Bibby brings to the table as a player. Theres probably less than a handful of pg's in the L right now that i would take over Bibby.

Cmon G.S. i was hoping that someone else would of answered this one by now!

I'm guessing you didn't want to answer it? I wanted to know what knowledge people had of these two, oftenly compared Dookers. I'm glad that you answered though, even including the origin of J.J.'s name.

Anyways...I love how AI anticipates the passing lanes, but Mo Cheeks was better on the ball and more skilled on that end. AI is one of the best at what he does right now, but his on the ball defending is average if not below average. So I'm gonna have to say Mo Cheeks gets this one.

Chris Mullin or Mitch Richmond(M or C of Run TMC)

Richmond. Mullin did well for himself, but in Mitch you're looking at a guy who was arguably the second best SG of his generation next to MJ

Danny Manning or Glen Rice

Richard Hamilton / Joe Dumars

Rafer, because he has some crazy talent, he just needs to learn how he can play the same way he does on the street in the NBA without all the fancy moves.

Ronald Murray because he's a better scorer.

Kenny Smith / Steve Kerr

I gotta go with the Jet on this one. I do believe he would of started on any of those Bulls teams from the 80's and 90's. Kerr was great at clutch shooting but the Jet could do so much more. It also depends on what you're looking for as a team. If i have a potent 1-2-3 punch then Kerr would be my three-point monster when we need him the most. I cant choose over a guy that shot .515 from beyond the arc in over 230+ attempts in '96. Plus i wouldnt be a real Bulls fan if i did....

Im going with Kerr!!

George Gervin or Dominique Wilkens

Dominique -- what can I say, he was the guy we wanted to be in high school.

It wasn't about dunking pretty with him. It was about dunking with power, like an animal, with authority in traffic. The more guys that he'd dunk over, the better

I saw a documentary on his career a few weeks back. Even talking about it years later, you could still see how much being traded from the Atlanta Hawks hurt him as a person -- man, was he a player

Donyell Marshall or Antonio Davis (and you guys better get this one right.....)

Brankles
February 7th, 2004, 06:36 AM
Donyell in my mind, is a much better player than Antonio Davis...

He gets about the same amount of rebounds as Antonio, and can score much easier than Antonio can. He's basically a quicker, more talented version of Antonio Davis.

If you were to build a franchise around him:
TMac or Kobe

ludacris06
February 7th, 2004, 03:42 PM
Allen Iverson, no doubt about it. AI carried his team through everything, Injuries, bad nights, or when no one was scoring. That man played so well, that when he was not playing, his team would loose because they were so dependent on AI like some life support machine.

Stephon Marbury / Barron Davis

Learn your facts man before you answer because that one was just completely wrong. No, that's just his opinion. We are talking about two role players on championship teams, and did you say one-time all-star??Anyways, let's keep this going! Marbury or Tiny Archibald??

Markus
March 26th, 2004, 06:54 AM
Archibald by a hair, but if Marbury plays like this or close to it for a couple of more years AND he leads his team deeper into the play offs or wins a championship then MAYBE I would pick Marbury (but I doubt it).

Can we do a 3-way?

Tom Chambers - Xavier McDaniel - Dale Ellis

Freddy Foxxx
March 26th, 2004, 07:54 AM
That's a good one! They all played for the Sonics at one point and dind'n really get along! Chambers went on to have a very productive carrer with the Suns sciring over 70 in one game, so I have to pick him with the X-man comimg in second. He's gotta be one of the toughest players the NBA has ever seen. But I gotta go with Chambers! You wanna go 80's, o.k how 'bout Alex English or Bernard King??

I can understand 'Nique(not really) but I think someone said Nowitzki. Please! Anyways, Mugsy Bogues or Spud Webb??

Bogues - He was more than a short gimmick and racked up a ton of assists. But mainly he was great on the SNL hosted by Charles Barkley.

Crawford, the guy has got mad skills.

Darrel Armstrong or Speedy Claxton

I'd take Armstrong over Speedy right now. He provides great emotion to any team and is a great spark off the bench. Though he's on the bottom half of his career, he's a great leader and any team would be lucky to have him.

George Lynch or Stacey Augmon

You forgot to pick between Augmon and Lynch, so I will for you...Augmon because of his days with the Blazers...and Weslsy Person, not because of his days with the Blazers, but because of his shot, its much better than Chucks...

Better shot blocker...
Theo Ratliff or Ben Wallace

hmmm...how about chris mullin or detlef schrimf

March 26th, 2004, 02:56 PM
I'd take Bird over Nowitzki b/c he's a much better passer and shooter, Dirk is a good shooter but he's not as good as Bird or as good as people make him out to be.

Bird also wasn't 7'0 and was a better rebounder and he's a much better defender, Bird could actually play D.

Theo Ratliff is definatley the better shot blocker, I think I mentioned it in another post, Ratliff is averaging more blocks while playing less minutes. Also if you watch Ratliff play, he doen't just throw the ball away when he blocks, he tries to retain possession a lot and also gets a lot of the 2 handed blocks.

Even if you want to bring in stats for this year:

Ratliff: 7.1 blocks per 48 mins, 2.65 blocks per foul, Ratliffs Block% is 8.8, Ratliff's block rating is 24.7

Ben: 3.9 blocks per 48 mins, 2.63 blocks per foul, Bens block % is 5.1, Ben's block rating is 12.7

Chris Mullin (you changed it)

Zach Randolph or Shareef Abdur Rahim

Zach Randolph or Shareef Abdur Rahim

I agree with you on Theo and have to go with Zach Randolph now, but Shareef in the past...Shareef barely made the All-star team in the East, and Randolph was so close to making it in the West...Which one is harder to make if you are a power forward...Zach is my choice and I hope the Blazers dont trade him away like they did Jermaine O'neal

That's why I wear his number.

Davis is better. He has less an attitude as Stevie and is much more suited for his position. Francis is still an explosive 2 guard in a 6'3" body.

Steve Kerr or J.J. Redick

Markus
March 30th, 2004, 06:44 AM
Gotta go with the Pro over the amateur every time, so Kerr. Even though he is a bit one sided, it is hard to ignore the rings and the fact that he is the all time 3-point percent leader. Besides, J.J. might never even play in the NBA, and if he does it is hard to say if he will ever do anything. Finally, there are plenty of people from other schools or from Duke that have had as good or better college careers.

I'm gonna go with Magic. Before there was Michael Jordan, there was Magic Johnson. He was the G.O.A.T. of the 80s in my mind. Before there was Kevin Garnett, Grant Hill, or Lebron James, there was Magic Johnson. This guy really could play all 5 positions, and could even dominate some.

Jay Will. Not to knock Kidd, but Williams makes(or made) a living by doing fancy passes. That was what he was known for. And even though he's matured as a player since, he was still the first player I've seen do the elbow pass in an NBA event.

Dennis Rodman(80s not 90s) or Ron Artest

well artest hadnt played much in 90's only late 90o's n rodman was really good in ealy 90's
