I'm on my 9th season (5 seasons with Charleston Southern, 4 seasons with Temple), and every year my selection of assistant coaches is pretty weak. I never see assistant coaches with overall ratings higher than a B-. I wonder if my head coach's recruiting or scouting ability affects the choice of assistant coaches I get. Right now my coach is an overall A (A+ offense, A+ defense, A+ teaching, B+ recruiting, C- scouting), and my current assistant coaches are both B-'s (one has B's in offense/defense/teaching, one has B's in recruiting and scouting).
If my head coach's recruiting/scouting doesn't affect the choice of coaches I get, what does? Could it be loyalty to coaches (for example I have to keep my assistant coaches for 5+ years before I get a better selection), or possibly just as time progresses (maybe after season 10 or 15 I'll get better coaches), or maybe even what conference I'm in (though Temple is in the A10, and I was getting B-'s with Charleston Southern in the Big South).
