I have videotape of me and Chauncey Billups, but the file is too large to upload. The Hawks and the Pistons are cool people and they aren't cocky or nothin.

I met Antoine Walker, Pirece, McCarty, Delk and the whole Pistons team from last year. We were in the locker room b/c my team had a game at the Palace and they were walking through the hall to go practice before the game while we were going back.

Years back when Detroit played the New York Knicks at Copps Colliseum a friend of mine was in a dunk contest prior to the game, so we got to hang out with him on the floor and met a bunch of the Pistons and Knicks
Isaiah Thomas, Joe D, The Microwave, Rodman and Salley in their Rookie years, James Edwards from the Pistons. Ewing and Bill Cartwright from the Knicks
Bill Cartwright was the biggest guy I ever saw up until I met Shaq at the World Basketball Championships in Toronto years later. It's insane to see how big Shaq is in person -- amazing
During that tournament, you could run into players all over the place -- a lot of the US guys didn't give a very good account of themselves in public though. Shawn Kemp stands out as a guy who really acted like a fool
I've met Steve Nash a couple of times, once at the WBC in Toronto and another time around the World University Games in 1993 which was big because Canada almost upset the US in the Gold Medal match, which was almost shades of 1983 all over again
Finally, I've actually played pick up with Mike Smrek, who used to be the back up centre for the Lakers. Even the guys that you think are terrible in the NBA are better than probably the best player you ever played in any level of ball
THose guys are amazing................

I'm pretty sure that Harping was on the Jazz at the time but i might be mixing it up since i only sook his hand then i walked away.

I met Harold Miner and Mahmoud Abdul-Rauf when Miami came to play with the Heat about 12 years ago here in Puerto Rico, also met Kidd, Garnett, and the whole Dream Team 2000, b/c I had a cousin that worked in the hotel when they stayed here in Puerto Rico. But my dream is to meet Michael Jordan and Allen Iverson

Hey K Bomber, no offense, but it's Isiah Thomas. There's no extra "a."
Anyways, when I was very young, I was at the Great Western Forum before a Lakers' game, and Tom Tolbert held me up so I could dunk the basketball. That guy is tall, and he is real cool.
I played a pick up game with Eddy Curry when he was still in High School. He went to Thornwood, in South Holland, and I lived in Calumet City, which is the next city east of South Holland. He was at our Cal. City rec center, and he was hitting threes like it was nothing, which was kind of funny.
I went to all of Thornton High School's basketball games when I was in grade school. I talked to Melvin Ely (Clippers), Antwan Randle El (Steelers - NFL), and Napolean Harris (Raiders - NFL) all the time. I've even talked to Antwan a couple of times after he got to the NFL.
My Dad on the other hand has met so many people, I think it would take a couple of posts to print.

I talked to Shawn Marion a couple of times before some Suns games, he's pretty cool. I got an autograph from him the first time and he actually signed it with the #32 (he's really #31). I came back a couple weeks later and got another one with the right number on it. He lost a bet to then assistant coach Frank Johnson that Frank couldn't hit a three-from two feet out of bounds along the baseline. I've since heard that Frank has won a lot of money from rookies that way.

AngelFunk do have any proof... if u do please show me because that is impossible... if u cant get pictures of all of them please show me a pic of u and Vince Carter. Sorry AngelFunk but what u just said is very hard to believe.
The only NBA Players i met was Spud Webb and John Wallace.
John Wallace is an idiot+ he is one of the worst players in the league but i still met him. His autograph was just like 3 curved lines. As soon as i got it i threw it away. He is just a jack ***. He is from Rochester NY where i live and he is friends with so many NBA players but yet he never brings any of them up to rochester. He is friends with Tmac, VC, stephon, allan houston and even shawn marion. There are more but ill stop there.
But i played spud webb one on one and that was funny... i played him after he retired though... but i still met the player with the highest vert ever. Spudd web is one of the nicest guys.

Actually, that's not impossible at all. If you're in the right business, meeting guys like that could be very common place. My sister used to do work with the NHL Oldtimers and I've met a ton of those guys, at dinners, functions and even just hanging out at her old place in Toronto. It was literally a Who's Who of Hockey history that you could just sit down and shoot the breeze with
Most of the NBA guys that I met were due to the WBC played in Toronto or through exhibition games. Angel is talking about meeting guys through the Olympics and given his occupation, I have no problem believing his claim -- sales is like that

Really, when you think about it, who wants to go to Rochester? Irv Weinstein is about the only noteworthy aspect of Western New York, other than the daily fire in North Tonawanda

That's the one that I want a picture of, but FYI, he didn't have the highest verticle ever, although it was up there...........

And how could I forget?
Tim Hardaway's sister lives/lived (I don't know if she's there anymore) in my condominium complex when I was back at home. Tim would come outside when he was there and would run some games with us. He was really fun and a nice guy to everyone.

Does your home team have the tour where you can meet the players and take pictures or whatever? If you do, thats how you can meet most of the NBA stars. If you work at a stadium, I would belive you if you said you met every player in the NBA.

Met Jonathan Bender, Marcus Camby, and Kerry Kittles during the NBA strike (yes, I'm well aware that Bender wasn't even in the NBA yet during the lock-out, least I don't think that he was). Not at the same time, but Camby and Kittles were on the same day. Kittles was at a high-end shopping mall with his friends.
I actually got to talk to Camby, it was in a footaction. I'm looking at a pair of shell toe adidas, and Camby must have realized that I recognized him. I don't think that anyone else in the mall did, or else he'd have had chicks all over him (chicks round here love ballers). and he walks up and grabs the display pair of shell's off the top shelf...had to have been about 9 feet in the air, up around the TV's that are in footaction stores. And he says "these are some nice shoes." and I say to him "yeah they're pretty sweet." He was so tall that I got dizzy looking at him.
I also met Randy Livingston at a University of New Orleans basketball game. I think that he was friends with one of the lady players, and their to cheer them on. He'd just been cut from the Hornets (it was a few days before the annoncement or whatever) and he looked really sad. Me and all of my buddy's went and congratulated him on his play for the Hornets and told him that he was a great player and left, and one of the guys that played for UNO a few years back had a conversation with him.
It was kinda sad cause the next day or two we realized that he'd been cut...it was kinda messed up. But he was really nice to us for the few seconds that we talked with him.

It's funny that you say that, because I always feel like a little kid when I meet any of the bigger NBA guys
I'm 6'4", so I'm kind of used to looking over the tops of crowds. But when you meet a guy like Shaq, and it must be a function how you're used to seeing people, but he'll be so big that it's disorienting
I've played hoops with taller guys, but the NBA dudes are more than just tall, they're usually really thick -- I know I'm doing a really bad job of explaining the phenomenon. Even playing with a guy like Mike Smrek make you feel like you're a kid playing in your driveway with your dad, because virtually any shot you can take, he can reject back into your mug, it's an exercise in futility
Shaq is completely massive................

SHOOK STEVE NASH'S HAND!!!!!
Back in early, early 1998 the mavs (were horrible, yes) featured a free basketball clinic with shawn bradley, michael finley (who i never got to see), and of course, the great steve nash. His hair? It was short, blonde, and preppy lookin.
The man also dazzled us kids by lighting up 3 pointers in a row as we were all counting 13..14..15... in a row.
I was waiting in line to get pizza when he came by to shake hands and I think I was the only one who he asked what my name was. As a kid, it was a big deal then.......

I met and played b-ball with Corey Maggette by mistake. Years ago there was a basketball tournament and this was when I was like in 8th grade or something like that and the tournament was held at his high school. Fenwick high school. After we got blown out in the tournament I didn't feel like leaving so I started shooting around. He was ref'ing the tournament. So I shot around with him and him being a HS senior and me being a 8th grader I was like wow this guy is amazing but than thought nothing of it. I talked to him for a little bit and remembered his name.
Two years later I was watching the NBA draft and than I see the Seatlle Sonics select Corey Maggette and than I was blown away. I met him again at a Bulls game and I was like I shot around with you at Fenwick High School and you helped me with my inside game, so and so and he was like yeah I remember. I was thinking like yeah right but he signed my basketball, and I got his jersey which was cool and he shook my hand. :D So all in all it was a interesting experience I would say.
