You know that February 1st a bunch of people who lack in the social department are going to be cheating all day to get an early jump on their way to the top.

Do you still keep your overall record?

I think what frenchie's trying to say is, "do you keep your rank?"

I don't think so.

MONDO - what were you doing online last night?
You moved left to right really quickly on the team select screen.
To me that usually means someone wants to play a sim game in Exhibition 5 or 7.

What did you mean by it?

BTW - even though you smoked me (mr one-timer) I loved how lag free the game was last night. Dude, you have the best defense. It seemed like you were reading my mind at times.

Hahaha, I only do the Left-Right business to test out the lag, seemed ok!

Was it 6-2, from what I recall? I forsee closer games though, thanks for the "D" compliment.

'member that nasty one timer between both your d-men's legs, the one that you replayed? Hahahahaha!!!!

I played Hockey8978 later that night and I scored 2 quick one timer goals. After that, everytime I did I one timer, he went to team stats to hilite one timers like it's forbidden. I agree I overuse one timers, but I don't think it's cheap. Also as stupid as this sounds, I don't think deking while on a breakaway is cheap either!

Nickels, I'll be wasting my evening online tonight, so I hope to play ya later.

jeez what moves can you do if the one timer is cheap. hmm...constant slapshots from the point? Newb:"no thats cheap" haha

gawd im tired of defending the 1-timers. 1-timers arent cheap unless used excessively or scoring when you should NOT have scored. Lets see, you just made a perfect point. Scoring between the legs on a 1-timer, now please tell me that is realistic. Now if you think the only ways to score are by 1-timing and relying on blue line slap shots, i implore you to go offline and come up with some new strategies. Now Hockey8978 plays in ESPN league and soon OTHL (when season 2 starts), where 1-timers are limited to 3-5 a game, and by highlighting the 1-timers he was trying to tell you to limit your chances. I too would have done the same thing but since you are not in the league I have no qualms if you don't abide by the rules. If you are in the league and know the rules and break them, thats a different story.

dekeing on a breakway, i can care less what you do, you deserve a good chance to score. BUT have you tried to learn the manual goalie deke? I recently have been praticinng that and let me say when the puck goes in you'll be jumping for joy.

what move can you do? lets see wristers from the point with traffic in front. Cycle along the hash boards for a high slot shot. Point to Point passes to "slide" the D. Moving the puck up and down the boards to open up the D for a quick deke. Driving hard to the net with either winger and protect the puck or manual deke. Give n Gos. Setting up the triangle for a high/low slot shot. Now i can go on and on....

back on topic- finally i get my recrod reset. Its not like I was trying to move up anymore, someone else can take over th 30th spot. Besides logging on backdoor and beating someone who think im a 0-0-0-0 players is much more satisfying.

im not saying i only use one times and slapshots, i was simply saying that it gets old when you score a nice goal and people call it cheap when its not. i agree they should be limited, but they arent cheap whatsoever.

Yo mondo. i was just pointing out the fact that 70% to 80% were one timers. And i had about 1 all game.

Kon0100 We never played so I can not really comment on your "style" of play. IF you do not think 1-timers are cheap, I'll be more then glad to show you how boring it is to play someone when they take 19 shots, 18 1-timers. Yes that just happened to me last night. It is cheap because anyone player and 1-time everything basically perfectly. A flip pass is hard enought to stop, but when the puck lands PERFECTLY every time, and the player PERFECTLY 1-times it even if he was skating AWAY, it becomes very very cheap.

Watch more hockey, only maybe 3 or 4 clear 1-timer chances happens a game, and thats usually on the PP. More of them are tip in chances, and more often then not the player will try to settle the puck down before shooting.

nux- if you re-read my post, i said im all for limiting the amount of them. i know it can be boring and quite lame to be an all 1-timer game.

There is a big difference between one-timers and Prayer-one-timers.
A lot of people just saucer-pass the puck into a crowd knowing it is impossible to defend all game. These are cheesy prayer passes.

I never complained about anyone style - if you play that way in Pro then more power to ya. I just will not play you again because I want to play hockey, not defend one-timers all game.

Variety is the key to fun hockey - when 95% of shots are one-timers its very lame.

Hockey, I understand this is the way you play, which is fine, but you know full well that I love my one timers. You warned me on the very 1st goal, for fack sakes! I'm not saying that the "one timer" is my bread and butter, it is a tactic that I like to use, amongst some others... but you can't expect me to play your game, hence why I'm not in THAT league, thank god! BTW, is your type of game considered sim? Cause I've never came on here advertising that I was EVER a sim player, I know Bizzy is, he beat me on his settings, I used whatever one timers I wanted, he never had a problem with it!

NUX, I think I may have played you once, don't recall the results, but I'd like to play you soon. I don't know exactly about this goalie manual deke that you're referring to, but hockey8978 did a nice one on me last night ( I wouldn't know how to do it if you asked me) it looked nice though!

I'm sure everybody else that's played me can vouch that I play a good game, I don't exploit any holes, I am definetely beateable, but most definetely not sim, seems boring, personally, but can tolerate for a few games.

no, hockey8978 porbably used my protect the puck deke. Now Im saying "my" becuase he didnt ever use that deke till he started playing me :D

manual goalie deke is L1 + 0 on advanced control settings. If I see you on next time i'll be sure to challenge you, be warned though I ONLY play on gamespeed 0 penalies 5-8. I don't mind if you use your 1-timers, I just ask you don't use them excessively.

This is just a game. Stop posting about what you think is the right and wrong way to play it. If you guys wanna play 60 minutes of real hockey where only 3 or 4 goals are scored then strap on some skates and start practicing cuz its not gunna happen on a playstation....One-timers are not cheap..S-moves are not cheap..That backhand move from the top of the slot is not cheap..they are all good ways of scoring.....You guys just need to learn how to defend against these moves..To defend a one-timer all you have to do is get in between and grab the pass...or you can hit the shooter or passer...those are 3 ways of stopping it so stop complaining...Learn how to play defense

BTW, cycling, triangle offenses and point to point passes usually end with attempted one-timers...One-timers are a big part of the nhl and if you watch an entire game and KNOW what a one-timer is you'll notice that there are A LOT more than 5 attempted

P.S. If someone is using one move excessively then its pretty obvious whats coming on their next trip down the ice so use your brains and defend it.

SO back to the topic.....do we start out fresh tomorrow, 0-0? I think an overall rating should be keep, then go month to month. If they're going to dump everything....it looks like they're trying to clear some memory.
