that's really messed up. anyway, as a fellow flyers fan, how do you feel about robert esche's ability to take this team deep into the playoffs. i really think he is an emerging star goaltender int his league, andI hope bobby clarke sticks with him down the stretch. right now, it looks like jeff hacket was a 5 million dollar backup goaltender. there have been talks about a trade for olaf kolzig. i think that would be a huge mistake, as i feel kolzig is definitely going downhill, justlook at his numbers this year.

oh, and if clarke trades gagne, i will vomit. the sick thing is, its like i know its gonna happen, but i cant do anything to stop it.....

Esche carrying the team, could happen but I don't see it. Clarke has a natural way of trading away great players for garbage, How I WISHED that he had not dumped Forsberg for Lindros. Trading for Kolzig would be horrible for this team, Esche is playing really well and deserves the shot to carry the team regardless of how far they will go into the playoffs.h aving the Rangers and the Penguins in your division doesn't hurt either.

If Clarke trades away Gagne, that , in my eyes, is worthy of getting fired for

I'd like to see Esche in net with Nittymaki backing him up. I wouldn't trade Gagne for a goalie, and I don't like that Williams is gone now. Looks like its the same old story...
we're good enough to go deep, but not at the point where we're good enough to win it all.

sean burke will be traded to philly soon.
here's why:

reports are that phoenix is entertaining serious offers from the rangers, the flyers, and the avalanche.
because the coyote organization loves and respects burke, they will move him to a cup contending team. this rules out the rangers.

that means it's between colorado and philly.
since colorado is in the same conference as the coyotes, trading him to that team might hurt the coyotes' slim chances of making the playoffs this season. inter-conference trading is rare.

it's also important to note that philly and phoenix have been very active trading partners for a few years now. they have a healthy business relationship.

YEH FLYERS!!! i can't believe they got burke.. i think it is a really waste of a goalie.. if we went for a good goalie like kolzig, or someone then have esche as the back up, we will be set now we just have another veteran that is going to be gone soon

Hey there Go Pens - just so you know Bobby Clarke didn't trade Forsberg for Lindros, that was Russ Farwell. Clarke got to Philly after that trade. I think it was 94 or 95 when Clarke became the GM and the trade occurred in 92.

Anyway, Lindros was a machine back when he wasn't getting concussions...now, he is trash.

Anyway, I think Esche will be the #1 goalie in the playoffs, barring a Burke hot streak. With the thrashings we took the past two nights(5-2 losses twice) I don't know if ANY goalie will do in the playoffs.

Burke sucks....Esche at best should be a backup...Nittymaki...haven't seen enough of this kid to believe he can take us to the cup...Anyway ya slice it....were screwed...I really hope one of those guys proves me wrong...but I don't see it happening....I still say we get beat out early!

Eventhough you are a yanks fan, i still like ya because of this post rigth here. I am a Flyers Fan...my whole life, and we have troubles. We have not had a solid goaltender since Hextall.....excuse maybe i should go back further and say Pelle Lindbergh. that is our plague, GOALTENDING. Ask anyone, we have offense...our defense is shakey at times but whose isn't. That is my input. Chao

I'm a SENS/FLYERS fan living in Ottawa....so you can imagine the hype around me right now!!! It's wild....I dream of these two teams meeting in the conference finals!!

I just wouldn't know who to cheer for...so long as one of em wins the cup I'm happy!
