Every other position seems to get talked about but this one, so I'll add this one in. Don't put KG and Dirk, because we will consider them PF's just so it gives other 3's a chance to be in here.
1) Shawn Marion/ Peja Stojakovic
2) Andrei Kirelenko
3) Jamal Mashburn/ Antawn Jamison
4) Rashard Lewis
5) Ron Artest
...........oops
6) Correy Maggette :D

Shawn Marion
Vince Carter
Ron Artest
Tayshaun Prince
Peja Stojakovic ( how you gonna be 6-10 and not average at least 1 block a game?)
This is my squad right here. All defense.

Luda I hope that isn't in order, because we all know that Peja owns Tayshaun. Who cares if he doesn't average a block. He's the best offensive small forward and you know it.

Vince is part of the shooting guards cause thats what he's mostly know as :D ......wow I didn't think Marion would be excluded form anyone's list
Well he does have a good argument though, its not Peja's fault really, I mean Tayshuan, AK47 and Marion have crazy wingspan and Carter and Marion have crazy hops. AK 47 and Tayshaun's hops aren't bad either, Peja really has none of those, but still he's 6'10 and playing smaller 3's so he should be getting more blocks, and even rebounds.
AK 47 and Marion are so alike in statitical output that its scary, Marion's a better rebounder though, and Kirelenko is taller.

And it goes a little something like this......
1.PEJA STOJOKAVIC- Well he is a clear number 1 this year with his team being the best in the league and guess what, he has been there best player......SO CONSISTENT.....
2.MATRIX- He would be number 1 if Peja didnt elevate his game to the next level of being a top 3 MVP candidate so far this year.....and yes MATRIX needs to become more consistent....
3.AK-47- Well this guy does it all he is in my eyes the best defender in the league....he can put up points and boards and has a great court awareness, lets just say he is every coaches dream....
4.MASHBURN- Well he hasnt really done to much other than get injured. We all know what he is capable of, but is he ever gonna be ready to deliver....
5. RASHARD LEWIS- gotta go with this guy as Corey Magette just doesnt help his team win....I mean put Elton on the sonics and ray on the clips and the sonics would be a much better team.......Plus he is learning how to play D, and is alot more affective than C-Macfitty
And NO VC is still a shooting guard, so is peirce and thats about all.....
peace

OK......i messed up put RON RON ARTEST at 5 and not Rashard...
the others i have in front of Artest until he has a full season without losing his mind.....doing real well so far and would be rated 2nd behind peja in most cases....

Hey if you have a problem with me then just PM me. I'm not gonna let some flame war go on.
I really just don't see the logic in it. Peja is an MVP candidate and everyone knows that. Peja's a star, while Tayshaun is nothing more than a role player. He's the best player on the best team in the league.

Yeah... these are opinions... but Tayshaun being on anyone's list is a mere joke...
1. Peja
2. Marion
3. Mashburn (He was an MVP candidate last year, don't forget)
4. Kirilenko
5. Ron Artest
Honorable Mention:
Rashard Lewis, Corey Maggette, Carmelo Anthony, Donyell Marshall

Yea, opposing players don't say that. Ask T-Mac, AI or all the other players he shut down.
I coulda swore that my top 5 was all defense and Peja barely makes that list.

I respect all your opions of the top five forwards, but if you can't respect others, whats the point of having this thread? :?

You should've made it bold, I didn't actually see it till you said it the second time. Also the thread isn't about top defensive it was about Top Small Forwards, we could do defensive though, but it wasn't really the aim.

Vince Carter started at shooting guard in about 17 games this season.

^That's was 5 years earlier before Maggette had settled into his ways of being a put my head down slasher on every play.
Lebron was supposedly a PG in his rookie season, but that changed very quickly lol. How Kirilenko has dropped though he was always better playing PF anyways, not even SF.

this thread is also a testament to how underrated paul pierce was back in the day. he was the most underrated player in the league at one point (around this time) imo. now he's a little overrated. my how times have changed.

I'd say Granger and Durant are both equal in talent, but Granger is a better defensive player, so I would put him at #3. And I'd say they are arguably better than Paul Pierce is right now.
Also I think Paul Pierce was being mashed in with the SG's as Antoine Walker did play SF sometimes for the Celtics though he was mainly a PF.

yeah that's true in the early 2000s pierce did start at sg a lot. but towards 2004 i think he had started going back to sf, but i can't remember totally.
and i can definitely life with those changes to the top 5. the top two are the only guys who i wouldn't change, after that it's really up for debate, and can be put in any order.
