I personally like the NBA Finals the best, but its obvious, the Super Bowl and World Series are a bigger thing that people watch

Depends on who's playing, but overally it's either the Super Bowl or the World Cup.

I think the World Cup is got the most hype since soccer is the most popular sport around the world.

Yeah... the World Cup...
Billions watch... it's a global thing... and it doesn't go on for a month-long period (World Series, NBA Finals)...
Super Bowl comes next, then the rest of 'em.... maybe the NCAA Final Four, and College Football Bowls....

Actually the World Cup does go for pretty long, maybe a month or longer. It's the most watched sporting event in the world, beating out the Olympics.

No, I was saying the World Cup Finals...
Yeah, the World Cup itself has preliminary rounds, continental rounds, then the final round of 32.... kinda like March Madness...

Yea cause I've live in Nigeria (where I'm from), the United Arab Emirates (UAE), and here in Canada.
In Nigeria and UAE they don't show or even mention the NBA Finals, Superbowl, NHL Finals or MLB. Actually in Nigeria you hear about the NBA a little.
But everywhere I've been or lived the World Cup, especially the finals is one of the most important sporting events.

Hey go Ice Fishing in an Igloo, after hunting for Caribou while Ice Skating and playing Hockey, ya hoser, eh?

Seriously though, Canada tries so hard to be like America, it's not even funny... and they do it all wrong, too...
But if you really, truly wanted to be like America, y'all would've got an idiot from Texas to run your country...

Well I hate to get political but lets not seclude ourselves from the world even moreso then we're doing right now. We're part of America but we're also part of the world. The World Cup is litterally the biggest sporting event in the world, not just the Final but the whole tournament. I was up at 5:00 during the summer so I could see our U.S. represent this year, after embarassing themselves in 1998. So lets not be a Forum Nazi and limit this topic to the U.S.

NBA Finals----U.S.A
Superbowl----U.S.A
NHL Finals----U.S.A
World Series----U.S.A
World Cup----Worldwide
You see what I'm trying to say here?

Yeah I didn't mean to get serious. I've just been hearing a lot of patriotic ignorance lately and I took interpereted your comment differently. I realize that the World Cup is worldwide. I just find it shocking that it's the most watched television event in the world, yet rates below all four of those in America.

Hey, we hunt Moose, mister..........
Our idiot came from Shawinigan, but my experience tells me that most political issues can be easily solved over a cold beverage. Swing by for one when you're 19, the hoop in my backyard has a breakaway rim
None of that possession til you miss stuff either..........

Well...I came late in this topic, ever since it got territorial and patriotic, but I would say the Super Bowl is the best. It is the only one of those options that is one game, and all the others go 5, 6, or 7 games, which kind of drags it out. But I definitely love watching the NBA Finals.
Nothing compares to that game 6, Lakers v. Kings in 2002, however.

To me, March Madness is still like a dozen Super Bowls at one time.........

Houston vs. LA game 5 in the 1986 Western Conference Finals -- Ralph Sampson with that wacky tip on the right block to win it -- it's got to be pretty close.

Well I don't know about you guys but I thought that the ALCS this year was big this year, particularly Game 7. Atleast it was for people in NYC and Bean Town, but I'm not sure how many people actually watched it outside of thos areas. I got so into it. If you went to school or work and you didn't see the Sox and the Yanks battle it out last night, YOU GOT NOTHIN'! God damn Yankees, I hate 'em :x
